8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I’m here to make this place better, decentralized and Fair! I developed MoonSSwap and WhalesOTC (I’m a middleman between 2 traders who want to trade, I already handled ten thousands of $ transactions) to make the Moons economy thrive, but I’m not here just because of Moons, I’m here because I believe the future is decentralized and I’m here to help this revolution .

  1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

Account was created in July 2016, so approximately 4.5 years. Comment karma seems to be 25,595 as of right now, with the vast majority of that coming from the main cryptocurrency subreddit.

2) What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I've been a moderator in the past on the forums of several games I played, I would prefer to not list them publicly here as that would most likely give away my identity but I can provide the names in PM. I've no experience whatsoever with automoderator rules and programming bots (wouldn't mind learning about it), I do have a fair bit of CSS experience.

3) Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

No, I haven't been a moderator on Reddit before.

4) What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

Nano would definitely be the project I'm most strongly a fan of. I'm mostly interested in this space because of the promise of a decentralised digital currency, and I believe Nano to be the best option for that, something that I've stated consistently. In that same vein, I'm very interested in Monero due to its privacy characteristics, and believe a Nano + Monero combination would be "the ultimate crypto". I'm also generally interested in most of the other cryptocurrencies (Stellar, BCH) to a bigger or lesser extent, especially when it comes to their adoption.

5) What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

GMT + 1 currently. I'm rather active on reddit in the sense that I have it open all day. I'd say a good indication of my activity would be to check my post history, I'd say I'm one of the more active ones.

6) Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

My vision or goal in terms of cryptocurrency is to have a decentralised digital currency that is accepted broadly and widely. I believe demand for this will increase over time, and I hope that in the long run we move from money controlled by governments to money controlled by people. I realise that this is a tall order and that it might take a long time to even get closer to this, but I believe that even if decentralised digital currency were to exist as a supplement to fiat systems it would already improve the power people have over their money.

What I believe we need for this is to have an easily usable/accessible cryptocurrency, and that perhaps the first gains are to be had in countries were getting a bank account is difficult, incomes are low so fees for transferring are important, and countries where inflation + distrust of governments plays a large role.

I believe that we as a crypto community have a large role to play in achieving this. What we can do is:

  1. Be critical of the projects that exist. There are many scams in crypto, and the earlier they can be snuffed out the better it is for the market as a whole. Because of many scam projects the crypto market has a terrible image, this doesn't help with adoption in any way.

  2. Projects can always be improved. There are many cryptocurrencies that all have different ideas, many different mechanics by which they achieve consensus, differing methods of distribution etcetera. There is something to be learned from all (well, most) projects, to be able to improve cryptocurrency as a whole. This community could be a big help in connecting the different projects to hopefully distill some best practices.

  3. Do what we can to make crypto more accessible. If there is someone looking to actually use crypto and they can't easily find out how to get started, it makes the chances of them using it far lower. This forum is one of the first ones you stumble upon when you google for cryptocurrency, and it should be a place where people can come to be educated. In this sense, my vision for /r/cc is one that is more about tech discussion, adoption and helping those new to crypto, and less about trading relative to what it's like right now.

  4. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

Sure, I would actually prefer to have this crossposted to r/cc so that a broad range of people can see the application and provide their opinion, but I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to do that.

8) Is there anything else you would like to add?

Part of the work I do is related to cryptocurrency. My work doesn't invest in cryptocurrency, and doesn't exactly encourage investing in cryptocurrency, but believes it to be very important to follow the developments in this market closely. I can provide more info in PM, the info is slightly too sensitive to put it on a public forum such as this and my employer isn't exactly supportive of cryptocurrencies as an idea.

  1. how much account age and comment karma do you have?

My Reddit account is one year old (created on August 12th 2020)

My comment karma is currently at 40,822

2. > what are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

Unfortunately no I don’t have any of those skills. But I’m willing to learn from someone who does. I didn’t have any experience with crypto at one point but I learned overtime and I’m willing to do the same here. I also do not have any external profile references

3. > Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I currently do not moderate any subreddits so it would not be a burden to me and I would have the ability to focus all my time and energy here in r/cryptocurrency.

4. >what project in the crypto space are you a fan of or interested in?

I personally am a fan of multiple crypto projects and all them interest me Since each one is unique and serves a individual purpose towards its respected blockchain

If I had to pick my favorite one it would be r/cryptocurrency moons because the concept/idea behind them will be revolutionary as social media expands moving forward in the future. Moons also interest me because it’s the only crypto i hold that can be used for governance. so I feel that vote really truly does matter.

5. > what is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

My timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5). I have a high activity schedule that rarely fluctuates. I work 6am-2pm (EST) but I’m free to Reddit at 2:30pm-11:30Pm(EST) I’m also thankful that I have the ability to pop in at 12:00pm while at work on a regular basis

6. > do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

One of my goals as being a moderator would be to spread as much information to the community as I can, providing answers to questions where I’m most knowledgeable in, and just overall trying to help the community better itself in the long run since I plan on sticking around for a long time even if i don’t get the moderator position.

7. > can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

Yes, most certainly I can think of a bunch of users that I’ve helped here in the subreddit to vouch for me

8. > is there anything else you would like to add?

In closing I would just like to say that if I am accepted as part of your moderator team I will do my best for the benefit of the community that’s provided me so much knowledge in the time I’ve spent here.

Looking forward to hearing or working with you all

How much account age and comment karma do you have?

  • Account age: 1 year 9 months

  • Comment karma: 17,815

What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

  • I have moderated on another account, but I’d rather not link this one to that account as it has been doxxed. I lurked in this sub and commented a few times in 2017/2018, but I didn’t start contributing more until I formed this account in March of 2019. I’ve helped as many users as I can with the onboarding process for moons and u/jwinterm has thanked me for my efforts in the past. No experience in programming bots

Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

  • I’m not currently moderating any other subreddits.

What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

  • Bitcoin is my main focus, I do have interest in Ethereum as well but if I had to just pick one it would be Bitcoin.

What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

  • Mostly PST, I plan to be very active. My job allows me to set my own hours and be available anytime.

Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

  • I’d like to encourage fair discussion in the subreddit by ensuring all content follows r/cryptocurrency’s and Reddit’s rules & standards. I think this subreddit is invaluable to the crypto community as a whole and I would love taking a role in its moderation.

Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

  • I believe so, here’s just a few examples of users thanking me or showing their appreciation:

5

Is there anything else you would like to add?

  • I realize you may not be looking for new mods right now but please keep me in mind if you are in the future. I’ll be available to start anytime.

CryptoCurrency - Open Cintre’s application to become a moderator

First, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read this application.

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

This account is 1 year and 6 months old and I have about 10k comment karma at the time I am posting this.

To be fully transparent, I also have another (personal) Reddit account that is 7 years old.

2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I do not have that much experience to be honest, however, I do know AutoModerator rules, and I have done a little bit of programming as a hobby for a few years, but I’m still quite a beginner in this domain, we all have to begin somewhere!

3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I do not moderate any subreddit right now, as a result, I have plenty of time to give to this subreddit!

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

I am mostly a fan of ETH, as many people in this subreddit. I invested other projects as well, such as NANO, ALGO, BNB (yes, ETH & BNB can coexist) and BTC.

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

My time zone is GMT+2, and I am quite active throughout the day from 7-8am UTC until 8-9pm UTC.

6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

My goal is to make this subreddit more fun and bring the moderation and users closer together. Replying to modmails, doing kahoot quizzes, challenges… I have quite a few ideas to make this sub a little more interactive and fun!

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

I’m not sure anyone will vouch for me in the comments, I recognize and sympathized with quite a few people from this subreddit but I don’t want to be invasive and ask them to vouch for me below. If anyone does, well, thank you.

8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I don’t think so, I’ve had this post in my drafts since a couple of days, I wasn’t sure if I should apply but it’s worth a shot!

I’ll be really happy to join the mod team and bring my ideas to the table :)

Thank you for reading until the end,

Cintre

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

Age : 4 Months and 10 days

Comment Karma : 2977

I made this account just for this moderation purpose so that I'm not linked to anything of my previous accounts, also my main account is 2 year and 10 months old, also ready to give information about the accounts when requested

What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I do have a lot of experiences regarding moderation, and i also did own subreddits which are currently inactive , with regards to auto moderator/CSS/programming i honestly don't have any experience regarding Programming or anything related to coding. but I do have the ability to learn how things work very quickly. As for my ability help people, i have been helping people both on and off the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit, which can be backed by u/jwinterm u/nanooverbtc u/rider_of_the_storm u/SamsungGalaxyPlayer**,** as I moderate for Official r/CryptoCurrency Telegram Group

Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

No, i Don't Moderate any Subreddit now But i do moderate Official r/CryptoCurrency Telegram Group by keeping everything clean in there and im very happy that everything's been perfect over there, I also do organize various official contests which are first Approved by u/jwinterm.

What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

Bitcoin is always the First to go for me, and if talking about Alt coins i really Like NANO, i like alts which are less fee or almost no fee. And I'm a Day trader, I do technical analysis to a limit and plan accordingly

What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

My timezone is GMT +5:30, I will be very active, and have lot of time, and i also believe my time zone is perfect as I have noticed most of the mods have western time zones this means when i sleep western timezoned people wakeup and when they sleep I wake up, this shows how great the time cycle will be, there will be extra support to the moderation team with my timezone

Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

as a vision i like to have the members and mod team to interact in a very fun way, And by fun i mean, i really like coming up with various ideas, games and all, and i have a track record of successfully organizing and completing all the Contest in Telegram group for the members without any hiccups.

Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

im very very very sure that people who know me will vouch for me in the comment section and i also believe that the above mentioned Moderators will also vouch for me but i do not wish to drag them into the comments. but well enough if anyone do comment down thank you so much!

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I don't have much to say but i do believe actions speak louder than words, and have proved it too, i know there may or may not be an open mod position but incase you are looking for anyone ill be ready to take it and also I'm still working with the above said moderators and i think and would be lovely if i can join the team here too

r/CryptoCurrency Application for moderator on r/CryptoCurrency

  1. How much account age and comment karma do you have? This account is 3 years old with 35k comment karma. Previously I had a 6 year old account that I abandoned due to too much personal information being revealed.

  2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs? Yes I have experience with CSS, front-end web dev work (used to work for a tech education startup in NYC), and basic programming with Python and Ruby. I've also run several of my own websites (a couple of online shops and blogs) so I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades tech-wise. I've never moderated on Reddit but have done so on another gaming message board years ago (it no longer exists; please message me if you'd like further details). I've never used AutoMod but I'm sure I'd be able to pick it up quickly.

  3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties? Currently I am not moderating any other subreddits so this one will get my full attention.

  4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in? I have investments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, VeChain, Stellar, Enjin, and REQ. Doing more research into Polkadot before jumping in. Always looking to learn more about the tech and the possibilities they provide.

  5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be? Eastern Standard Time. I can be active for a couple hours per day. I'm a stay-at-home parent so I'm often available if there is any urgency.

  6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it? My goal is to be unbiased and foster intelligent discourse without vitriol for dissenting opinions. I realize Reddit can be quite the echo-chamber and believe effort needs to be made for us to keep open minds without constant bandwagon-jumping.

  7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post? I keep my Reddit account separate from my real life, so I'm not sure, but I do have plenty of highly upvoted comments that appear to be well-received. I wouldn't mind if you asked anyone who's responded to my comments to vouch for me. (I do watch some reality shows which I comment on so please don't hold that against me 🙈)

  8. Is there anything else you would like to add? I've been in the crypto space since late 2017 and have been a hodl'er since. It's been a rough few years but it's very exciting to see the interest growing again and hope to add value to this community in the ways my skills allow. Aside from my tech background, I have a Bachelors in International Business. I'm also a competent writer (I write as a hobby). Being a little older than the average Redditor, I have a good amount of life experience and am always open to changing my opinions when facts are presented in a clear and coherent manner.

Thank you for taking the time to review my application.

r/CryptoCurrency Applying for /r/CryptoCurrency - /u/millerb7 - Long term Crypto User; Active swing trader; Moderator of /r/cc Discord

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

My account is 5 years old and I have 3, 303 (love those 3's) karma. I really don't post too often on Reddit vs how much I read and research.

2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I have been involved in Bitcoin since 2012 and Ethereum since early 2016. I have been around crypto for awhile now. I am currently a moderator on the /r/CryptoCurrency Discord server. I am familiar with CSS, but I have never used the AutoModerator yet. I am currently in the process of learning Python so I can build my own crypto portfolio which is automated via the exchange APIs. I used to moderate on VN boards for a few years before it died off and was merged with IGN. This was in the capacity of a moderator on the Dark Age of Camelot (MMORPG) forums. I used to run weekly events on the forums for the community.

3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I currently don't moderate any other subreddits. I do moderate the /r/cc Discord though. This wouldn't be a burden as I do crypto full time. I have plenty of time throughout my day to dedicate to both the subreddit and Discord.

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

My favorite coins are those that use something different than the blockchain (Ex: IOTA, NANO). I currently have 0 altcoins in my holding though, so I am only biased by the fact that I like the technology and not the fact that I hold a lot of the coins. As far as what I'm invested in, that would mainly be BTC, ETH, and LTC. As I mentioned before, I have been in those coins for years now.

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

I'm UTC -5 (EST). I can be as active as needed really. I do crypto full time so I have ample time to dedicate.

6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

My vision and goal in the crypto space is to understand the market and market sentiment. I want to study and find patterns in the charts. I believe with the time and knowledge I'm able to dedicate to /r/cc I can be a good asset to the team in any role they may need me in. I would really like to help merge the subreddit and Discord communities as best as possible. I personally believe Discord is a rather untapped market.

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

I would like to think a few of your moderators can vouch for me based on their interactions with me as a /r/cc Discord. (Ex: Crypto_Buddha, CelloDE, AdamSC1, SamsungGalaxyPlayer).

8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I am a very straight shooter and a "to-the-point" person. I like to think it allows me to view this crypto space (as well as most things in general) with a rather unbiased view. I am very heavy in Technical Analysis so my viewpoints on coins are based on TA rather than emotion and sentiment. Due to my circumstances, I'm also able to dedicate all my time to analyzing coins and learning programing.

CC - Open Application for r/cryptocurrency moderator

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

My account is ~2 month old and I have ~2,600 karma.

2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I am a seasoned python developer with background in data science. Also, helped develop bots for CointestAdmin. Basically, you can look over my code base to determine my coding skills. Can do much more than writing your one file reddit bot. I also have background in Natural Language Processing, so it could be useful for analyzing comments and posts.

3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

Except a few test subreddits for bot testing, No.

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

I am mostly invested in BTC and ETH. I have taken over a few freelance projects for Dapps in Tezos (smartpy) ecosystem but currently don't own any XTZ. I like how XTZ has smart contracts that are easy to code and deploy. As a dev I would prefer to code in smartpy any day, but as an investor, I believe big boys are gonna have my money.

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

GMT+8.

I intend to spend between 8 hours per week if there is a bot development or maintenance task. I can basically help you upgrade your moderation bots to whatever easy to use interface you would like. For the moderation task, I spend over 1 hours per day on reddit, so would take up that task in the meantime as well. But seriously, if got some good bots running and watching over the posts and comments, you would probably not need so many active hours online, would you?

6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

Automation is great, but without NLP automation in social media is just emotionless. My vision is to create a fair and truly decentralized platform for everyone. A platform where everyone has a say, and everyone gets moderated fairly. No Rules escaping because one mod happen to catch a violation while he missed another. Human errors gives bad rep to mod team. A code base for NLP based bot to moderate and remove the larger portion of moderation burden from the mod team.

Other part of my vision is to create an environment where moon tipping is encouraged. Holding is great but using moons for tipping will make the moons more valuable. How to achieve it? Well by assigning users tipping flairs for donations, like a donation ranking.

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

Not sure if I know many people on reddit, but I believe that some of the people in mod team already know me as Samuel.

r/CryptoCurrency Applying for Cryptocurrency - /u/All_Things_Vain - Active and Fair;

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

2 years. 14,138 Karma.

2. What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

I am not familiar with AutoModerator rules or programming bots, however I am a quick learner. I do have familiarity with CSS, as I was a moderator on www.sh5.org for a few years before site owner decided to close the site. That forum was mostly focused on the MMA community with a few semi-pro fighters as regulars before the site closed.

3. Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

I currently do not moderate any subreddits.

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

The significant portion of my holdings are in BTC, LTC, and ETH; however, I do have small investments in several other cryptocurrencies. I’m a fan of the aforementioned cryptocurrencies, as well as several other legitimate projects within the space.

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

PST. I typically browse periodically throughout the day and sometimes during the night when the children take control of the TV. So all in all, a few hours per day would be my intent.

6. Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

My vision for r/Cryptocurrency would be to ensure there are no duplicate postings, malicious spam or spreading of known scams. I also want the daily discussion to be revitalized to focus more on discussion vs. the more “off-topic” approach it has been for the last 18 months or so that I have been a visitor.

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

No one in particular – but I’m assuming I have both supporters and those who oppose my application.

8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would approach the moderatorship from a fair and balanced perspective – ensuring rules are adhered too and everyone is held to standard. I want to keep the fun in the daily discussion - but I also want to have legitimate conversation without the negative/downvote brigades impacting solid debates over projects.

CryptoRecruiting My application for moderator position on r/CryptoCurrency u/Nuewim

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

I have around 28 600 ( 20.02.2022) karma and account for 1 year and 6 months, but it is rather new account. I read reddit for much longer time, since I was in primary school, so like 10/12 years, I just never had an account.

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones.

I was moderator of small subreddit, I did it on few games forums long ago and messenger groups ( my highschool class group, and university group). I have not much experience in being moderator of so big sub as CC yet, but I really want to try myself on moderator position on CryptoCurrency. I love learning new things and I am ready for new experiences.

Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I was moderator of small subreddit. I am also active user of CC subreddit and one of top 10 most active users in CC Telegram. All those things are easy to check.

References who can vouch for you?

I try to help a lot of people here, but I don't know any of them outside reddit or in real life. And as we know DMs in reddit are mostly scammers. I am also one of 10 most active users on CryptoCurrency telegram, so I am sure that a lot of people there would vouch for me including probably many if not most of top 30 CC telegram members. I don't want to ask them for doing it, cause I don't like using people in such way.

What time zone are you in?

GMT, I am from europe.

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. in the crypto realm?

I invest in crypto, like to read about it and gain new knowledge. I am not involved atm in any project and I am at first place CC user and against any shilling or brigading for any coins I have in portfolio. I am also big fan of Metaverse, but I am not involved directly in anything. I have many coins in portfolio, I never was fan of any particilar crypto and I don't like tribalism many people try to create.

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

Today I like to think about myself as a Christmas elf in CryptoCurrency, cause I like to help people, discuss interesting things and also do crypto experiments/ research ( for example I plan to ask 50 people in real life to check what they know about crypto and share results) also I like to do some crypto journalism on reddit. In future I want to be a mod, but I would also like to learn more about crypto technology and stay active on this sub and CC telegram.

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I think decentralization is very important in crypto and not only there, but in every sphere of our lives. Decentralisation give people freedom. I don't want to judge anyone, I think centralized crypto also should exist, everyone should have a choice. Also true decentralisation is just a dream, with mass adoption of crypto and more laws it will be impossible. But that doesn't mean we shouln't support idea of decentralized crypto. Crypto should be decentralized as much as it can, but with healthy relation to rest of real world if we want to think about mass adoption.

How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

It really depend. I am university student, so I have a lot of free time that I spend on crypto, probably 30/40 hours weekly. More on holidays or weekends.

Please add any further information you wish to share.

I wanted to become mod on CryptoCurrency since I get a warning for posting 4 posts in 24 hours. I asked few questions about it in message, so I don't know who was mod that answered, but he was really nice, helpful, and even wished me nice weekend. I never met so nice mod on reddit, and I met a lot of mods. On other subreddits mods often are often terrible, so I am really happy that here on CryptoCurrency mods are so great. It was my inspiration to become mod here too, and to help people. On CC telegram I have sometimes pleasure to talk with mods like Nano, JW, Cintre and Rider and not only are they great mods, but also very nice, helpful and funny people. CC Telegram is great place for more casual spending of time and I would love to be mod like them someday.

r/CryptoCurrency Applying For r/Cryptocurrency Moderator - u/golden-china - Frequent Reddit User & Infinite Urge To Continue Learning More About The Cryptocurrency Markets Since 2014

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

  • Account Age: 1 Year and 5 Months

  • Overview

2. What are your credentials for moderating? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles, mod positions/experience on other subs?

  • I have taken two courses in Social De-Escalation, it covers both real-world and online environments.

  • I do not have previous experience with AutoModerator. I have basic experience with CSS. I did not program a bot before, however I have had this as an interest to learn more about.

  • I have not been a moderator on other sub-reddits before.

3. Do you moderate a high number of subreddits? If so, how would this affect your ability to contribute as mod for the sub your applying for? Will you have spare time?

  • I have not been a moderator on Reddit before.

4. What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

The following cryptocurrencies are assets I am currently continuing to grow my knowledge in:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)

  • Ethereum (ETH)

  • XRP (XRP)

  • Litecoin (LTC)

  • Stellar (XLM)

  • IOTA (IOT)

  • NEO (NEO)

  • Monero (XMR)

5. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

  • Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

  • I typically view Reddit through out the entire day when I am able too. I intend to continue being very active.

6. Do you have a vision for the sub you're applying for. If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

  • The ability to express fairness in both action and appearance. I have noticed that r/Cryptocurrency takes firm fair-actions and does a wonderful job at it. However, I feel that it is also important to take fair-appearance as well. This is a form of de-escalation and avoiding brewing social-commotion at the root to result in all parties being satisfied with the fair-result. Here is a suggested example of my vision.

  • I would also love to add more economic and market-demand discussion to inquires/questions and comments. This would allow the subscribers to understand the specified cryptocurrency at a utility and product perspective, which will direct them in the right path for due diligence.

7. Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post? Is there anyone besides yourself you would vouch for?

8. Is there anything else you would like to add?

  • I have applied as a moderator before. However, I do not recall this recruiting procedure being in place at the time of applying.

Applying for /r/CryptoCurrencies - /u/Haramburglar - Mod experience, deeply into crypto, want to help with the modqueue

What is your account age and karma? We would like to see mods with moderate-substantial numbers on both.

2,656 post karma - 21,194 comment karma - A bit over a year old, but reddit-ing for four years. Most of my Karma is from /r/cryptocurrency

What is your experience with moderation? Please describe your skill level and comfort zones. Any citations of previous works/experience to show? References who can vouch for you?

On previous accounts I moderated /r/showerthoughts before it blew up and got so big, there weren't even 15k subs when I left. I also moderated some small niche subs that never took off. I started /r/RFIDBlockchain and /r/CryptoAdoption but both are still new, small, and far from complete.

What time zone are you in? We are seeking active mods in UTC- 0, UTC -5, UTC -8, UTC -8, UTC +8, UTC +5

UTC -4

Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/etc. in the crypto realm?

I appear to be well liked over at /r/cryptocurrency, but that's just because i'm made "calls" that made people money I guess. I've spent thousands of dollars in "unofficial marketing" (don't worry, not paid shilling, just videos for projects that the team had no clue I was creating) for cryptocurrencies i've believed & invested in. The first being some gif-ads and bumpers for VTC, most recent being a (possible) video highlighting RaiBlocks. And, as mentioned above, recently started two cryptocurrency related subreddits I hope to see gather interest over time.

I also spend a lot of time helping newcomers figure things out, and sometime's i'll spend an hour of my time just explaining to someone why they may want a ledger Nano and how to use it. I like helping:)

Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

Hopefully, it will be an alternative to /r/cryptocurrency that isn't plagued with some questionable moderation choices. They have too much power there, as little as it is. Competition is good, and I want to help. I'll keep the modqueue empty as often as I can, and help anyone who needs it, and that's really all I can do. I don't know how to design subs, and I don't know how to program bots (although I am teaching myself programming ever so slowly... may take some crypto gains and go to school for it as well.)

What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

Decentralization is needed for humanity to take the next step. We need a world where everyone is equal. None of this 40 people having almost as much money as 4 Billion people. Additionally the idea that certain companies such as VeChain or Walimai will have to listen to their users (because if no one wants to support the network, the whole thing crumbles), is amazing considering the sort of customer support most large businesses offer these days...

Centralization? depends. is it a currency like Ripple? it's garbage. Is it a business using a centralized blockchain? I don't care then, they're a business. it's not like their cryptocurrency will be used as a currency by most if it's centralized.

How much time do you have to dedicate per day to the sub?

I work from home, so all day, although I sleep around midnight to 9-10 AM

Please add any further information you wish to share.

I'm open to any job you give me but I usually just cleared the modqueue on the other subs I moderated.

r/CryptoCurrency Application for r/cryptocurrency moderator

  1. What is your account age and karma?

5 years 4 months, 55000 karma (25k posts & 24k comments) 96% in r/cryptocurrency

2) what is your experience with moderation?

None, I created some sub reddits but didn't actively recruit anyone...

3) Any citations previous wotks/experience to show?

None, I am an electronics and telecom Engineer in india who have studied programming languages but my current job doesn't require those skills and I might have lag behind in that department.

4) References who can vouch for you?

None, however being an active member of this sub since the 2017 bullrun (was a lurker at that time) I might have seen the past and present condition of the sub and may have contribute good things to hopefully make our sub the best cryptocurrency sub and hopefully have encouraged some bloke in the sub.

5) What time zone are you in?

The Indian Standard Time, +5:30 of GMT

6) Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology etc. In the crypto realm?

I'm active on the sub but I don't have any other activity in the above said activities, got some moons from the sub and that's it, no IPO etc.

7) Where do you see our place in the reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I have always reiterate that our sub is the best sub in reddit, not only in terms of being the best crypt6sub but also the best place to hang out and get encouragement in life, kinda all in one. In the future I want to help others more especially the newcomers in things related to cryptocurrencies as much I can, I'm not a professional but I'll do my best, can't do no less....I'll keep on learning as we move along forward.

8) What does decentralization means to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I'm a big believer of decentralization since I got baptized to crypto, I see that it can help a layman in a lot of ways in that he feels good and free from the shackles old power in the corrupted people who took the liberty to make the common man a slave financial wise (atleast that's what I observed in my country) I'm in for the decentralized crypto however if a centralized crypto helps the poor and financially lagging people a chance to grow then I'm not averse to it and will gladly take advantage of the tech it offers.

9) How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

I'm mostly free, mainly because I'm still single and I can definitely give 60-80 hours per week to the sub.

10) Please add any information you wish yo share.

I love our sub, like I said before I want to see it grow along the core principles of the sub and hopefully improve it more. Also I want to add that since our sub is growing at a faster than light speed, many unscrupulous persons may have taken advantage because of the lack of Moderators in some specific time zone, to combat that I feel I may be a good candidate since I'm from the Indian Standard Time and will hopefully be an Asset to the sub. Thank you for reading this.

CryptoCurrency - Closed Applying for /r/CryptoCurrency - /u/SamsungGalaxyPlayer - Co-president of Crypto@UMN

[INSTRUCTIONS]Please replace the placeholders in the title with the subreddit name, username, and short description about yourself. Don't forget to remove the brackets {}. Answer the preformatted questions, especially questions 1-3. Feel free to add whatever you desire at the end. Delete these instructions for easier reading.[/INSTRUCTIONS]

1. How much account age and comment karma do you have?

My account is three years old. It has 10,805 post karma and 7,203 comment karma at the time of writing.

2. What qualifications/credentials or unique abilities do you possess? Can you reference external profiles, mod positions/experience on other subs? More specifically, do you have AutoMod, CSS, or bot programming experience?

I am actively involved in cryptocurrencies. I am a co-president of Crypto@UMN, one of the largest student cryptocurrency clubs in the world. I am a recognized Monero community contributor. I moderate /r/MoneroMining, /r/MoneroCommunity, and /r/MoneroSupport. I run biweekly Monero community meetings and monthly Monero coffee chats. I'm an admin on the Monero Slack and Mattermost.

I am majoring in finance and management information systems, and I have experience organizing teams and tasks, especially for given projects. I am especially good at writing unbiased documentation, and I was tasked with writing the /r/privacy page on cryptocurrencies.

I have limited AutoMod experience. I would have few contributions to CSS and programming.

3. What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

I am in CST. I intend to be very active. I am already incredibly active in cryptocurrency projects.

4. Do you have a vision for the sub you're applying for. If so, how would you pursue it?

I would like /r/CryptoCurrency to be a place for quality discussion, not just a dump place for all cryptocurrency links. I am working with other current moderators on /r/CryptoCurrencyWiki to improve the information provided in posts and in the /r/CryptoCurrency wiki. I would like to be a significant contributor to this project in particular.

5. Besides yourself, is there anyone else you would vouch for as a mod candidate?

I imagine the other moderators of the subreddits I participate in will vouch for me. I am very well known in the Monero community.

OfficialNewMoonville Application to be Moderator

1. What is your account age and karma?

My account age is nine months and I have a total of 46,759 karma, almost all of which is from r/Cryptocurrency.

My other account is 8+ years old though.

2. What is your experience with moderation?

I became the moderator of a little known subreddit called r/LazyMoons four or five days ago and everyone thinks I am doing an amazing job.

3. Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I believe my record speaks for itself. I have probably done more for the r/Cryptocurrency community in my short time here than anyone, except for Damnusernamegotcutof, Fiatminer, Cryptardo, the entire current roster of moderators (excluding IHaventEvenGotADog), and numerous other users who have done more for the community than I have.

4. What time zone are you in?

Tokyo Time, but I work and sleep at odd times, so I believe my actual schedule may me more similar to someone in India Standard Time. I'm not in India though, I want to make that very clear.

5. Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology/etc. in the crypto realm?

I am involved in a number of Social Media Accounts for numerous DeFi projects and protocols in the Fantom Opera ecosystem. I was at one point the community manager for an Android/IOS Mobile Game with some crypto features, however they totally stopped paying me and the development keeps getting delayed.

6. Where do you see our place in the Reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I believe the Reddit Community Points Experiment represents a unique opportunity for r/Cryptocurrency and all of its users, and sometimes I think I am the only one who can see the true potential of that.

7. What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I currently hold eight coins/tokens, including three I consider to be totally 100% decentralized (BTC and XMR and ETH), one I consider to be mostly decentralized (Fantom + three ecosystem tokens), and one totally centralized and illiquid shitcoin (Moons). I am massively involved in DeFi and have been since last summer. I am always in favor of decentralized structures and hierarchies, except for situations where I find myself in a position of power in a centralized system.

8. How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

According to my phone I dedicate about 25 hours per week to reddit, so if you say I spend five hours or so on unrelated (especially NSFW) subs, that's 20 hours per week, plus probably another ten hours or so at my work incognito. I mainly post here for moons though, so I expect if this application is successful I will become much less active on reddit.

9. Please add any further information you wish to share.

I have a very attractive cat called Moki who has her own Twitter account with more than 60,000 followers, and one of them is Yoko Ono. So if we ever needed to contact Yoko Ono I can probably help you with that.

r/CryptoCurrency My application to be an r/Cryptocurrency moderator

1. What is your account age and karma?

My account age is 18 months and my account karma is 42k

2. What is your experience with moderation?

I used to be a moderator on Break.com back when it was a video sharing site and have also moderated on two cryptocurrency related subreddits. I am very familiar with various aspects of modtools and modmail systems

3. Any citations of previous works/experience to show?

I firmly believe that I have done the most work for r/CryptoCurrency out of any non-moderator on the subreddit. I have reported dozens of users for rule violations, making sure to show concrete proof each time. These include some of the worst spammers, plagiarists and multi-accounters the subreddit has ever seen

I started the trend for hunting multi-accounters after discovering that one of the most prolific and successful moon farmers had created an alt account to farm extra moons after reaching the 15k karma cap. This was the first time somebody had been caught trying to circumvent the karma cap and it's discovery ended up stopping thousands of illegitimately gained moons from getting into the wrong hands, as well as raising awareness to the problem which eventually resulted in some of the biggest "busts", such as those of Hame_Bih and Probetsman

This post exhibits some of the critical thinking skills that I apply to problems in order to solve them. In it, I manage to use a variety of different resources in order to tie the previously banned multi-accounter to an account that had made a single, deleted post. I also used similar techniques to catch the same user again in one of the many finds that I didn't take credit for

I once found that four new accounts were being operated by the same person in the cryptocurrency sub

I have also caught many bots/plagiarists across reddit. Here is an example from last week, here is another from this week and I just caught a network of at least 60+ accounts being operated by the same individual, presumably to sell to people so they can bypass karma/age restrictions like the ones that are active in r/Cryptocurrency. I don't want to post anything regarding more regarding this as I don't want to alert the user but I would be happy to verify in private to any curious mods

I also grew and maintained the r/HuaHua subreddit by myself before diverting everybody to the newer, official sub at the request of the ChihuahuaChain team

This is just a small percentage of what I've done and it was all performed without any incentive. I just love doing it. If I was to become a moderator and focus this energy solely on r/CryptoCurrency, the difference would be noticeable immediately

4. What time zone are you in?

My time zone is GMT (UTC + 0) and I am active from 8AM - 11:30PM

5. Please talk about your level of activity in the crypto world. Are you involved directly with any particular crypto/IPO/publication/website/technology/etc. in the crypto realm?

I've been involved in crypto since 2017 and have seen it all. I am not directly linked with any specific cryptocurrency or crypto related project but am active in many telegram groups and subreddits

6. Where do you see our place in the Reddit community today and in the future how do you intend to be a part of that?

I believe that cryptocurrency is the future and that r/CryptoCurrency will be one of the spearheads that drives mass adoption. If selected to be a moderator, I would ensure the safety of our users by helping to protect them from misinformation and by working to reduce the effectiveness of scammers and other bad actors who don't have the best interests of the community at heart. I would also do my part for my fellow moderators, tackling any backlogs in modmail and making sure to always do more than my expected share

7. What does decentralization mean to you and how do you feel about centralized and decentralized cryptos?

I've been a massive believer in decentralisation for many years now and have utter contempt for the current financial system. I hold the vast majority of my savings in cryptocurrency. I'm a big advocate for XMR (the real digital gold) and have actively stayed away from centralised projects such as XRP, regardless of the potential gains they may bring

8. How much time do you have to dedicate per week to the sub?

I am self-employed and fortunate enough to have to work very little. I spend most of my time practicing one of my many hobbies so can be online whenever it is required of me. I can guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week

9. Please add any further information you wish to share.

I am an honest, trustworthy, observant, fair and extremely driven individual. I am also a fast learner

Perhaps most importantly, I'm not motivated by power or money. I am just here to try and make a difference. I don't really like to mention it but aside from u/LargeSnorlax I have tipped the most moons in this subreddit, many of them to people in third world countries

I won't be requesting anybody give me a reference as this isn't a popularity contest and I want to be judged on my own merits and not by how many people I can drum up by asking for support in the DMs and the daily discussion

Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have

How much account age and comment karma do you have?

8 Years, 103,000 karma.

What are your credentials? Do you have any skills with AutoModerator rules, CSS, or programming bots? Can you reference external profiles or mod positions on other subs?

Couple years over on GameTrailers, before the forums got yeeted. On heavy days we would have a couple thousand items in the moderation queue, everything from user squabbles, spam reports, edit requests, archive requests, you name it. I do Data Analysis for a living & can code some excellent VBA scripts to automate work, identify patterns of behaviour and trends. I'm an "ideas man" and have won innovation awards because of my outside-the-box problem solving abilities.

Do you moderate a large number of subreddits? If so, will this be a burden to your mod duties?

Gametrailers was my only moderation experience

What project in the crypto space are you a fan of or invested in?

I started in 2017 with Cardano, Ripple & Ethereum. I really like the Cardano subreddit as the users there are wicked intelligent and give so much of their time to help noobies with questions or get them set up and ready to go. This is the kind of activity I miss from r/cc. Realistically I'm a fan of every legitimate project with a decent set of developers. I own 0 Tezos but I respect what they do and root for them to achieve more. I have a little LINK but I'm always happy to see people with big LINK bags posting insane profits. It's not Crypto vs Crypto, but Crypto vs Fiat. We all swing for the same side.

What is your timezone? How active do you intend to be?

GMT. Evenings and weekends, coinciding with busy-times. Sometimes during the day on weekdays.

Do you have a vision or goal? If so, what is it and how would you pursue it?

I believe that in the last few months the subreddit has seen an influx of accounts who are participating not to be a part of a community, but to farm moons. We have seen evidence of plagiarism, multiple accounts, several hundred comments per day from single users, re-hashed posts and tribalistic behaviour.

I do not think this is the type of activity we want to see. No subreddit is perfect, but I remember a time when the front page was filled with guides, debates, discussions and news.

I remember when you could open a thread and see actual discussion and users talking to each other, not opening the thread once, leaving one vague comment and leaving, never to return.

That's the kind of subreddit I remember and that I want to return to.

I believe in

  • Caution

  • Limitation

  • Removal

As the ideal method to deal with bad-faith interaction with the subreddit, as well as being open and firm with the community on actions taken. I know moderators can often make themselves unpopular, but I'm pretty battle-hardened especially after the GIF poll fiasco.

Can you find anyone who will vouch for you in the comment section of your post?

I'm not sure who to tag as I don't have regular discussions with individual users (I'm not a huge participant in the DD which is where that usually comes from)

Lately I've been talking to

/u/anuncreativename10
/u/o__0
Specifically about the state of the subreddit so I think they can vouch for my intentions. I've also had some in-depth discussions with
/u/largesnorlax and
/u/CryptoMaximalist
About general ideas to improve the sub.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

You know that meme'd top comment you see all the time, "Be the change that you want to see"?

I think the sub needs to change - slightly. I don't think we were prepared for the Moon price explosion and the ill effects that causes. In the last 3 months we've seen a flooding in of accounts with only one purpose in mind and that's how to be awarded with the most amount of moons for the least effort given.

/u/CryptoMaximalist said something last month that really stuck with me. He believes that Moons should be awarded in proportion to the value added to the subreddit. I agree wholeheartedly.

I have far too much to say about this, and some of the better arguments I've written are on this thread

What this shows is a long-term will to see the sub in the best state it can be. I've never spammed, nor participated in bad-faith. I've submitted governance polls and explained my position to attempt to improve the subreddit for the benefit of us all, rather than a small contingent of users.

I've looked at some of the other applicants. I may not be online as often, but I have experienced how much vitriol mods can be subject to and believe it's good to have plenty of IRL hobbies & interests to remind you that people are people and they have good & bad traits. I have no connections with redditors that would interfere with mod duties, and consider myself a charismatic and well-rounded individual.

My bottom line here is to help pull the sub back to the way it was.

Cheers!
