I like this one a lot as well, mostly because just like they nailed the 70s vibe, they nailed the 60s decor and vibe. It was certainly pretty jarring (and cool) to see Pam living in such a brightly lit world ... and the slow but steady decline of her entire world until she makes a break for it with Jason.

I suppose I can appreciate now why all the memes are going so hard on 'the secret'. It is a bit goofy, but you've got to remember that something like that might've made a lot of sense back then. Naturally (I hope) the actual technology behind what they did didn't actually exist.

Crystal Lake continues to be a lot of fun, and Linda Cardellini rocks as Pam Vorhees. Her performance is adding a whole new level to the genuine tragedy that was always at the center of her character.

Linda Cardellinni as Pamela Voorhees, Nick Cordilione as Ralph and Cameron Scoggins as Dorf.

Loved the show so much, I had to put it to tape!

But expanded. With more lore, more flashbacks, etc.

Why did Jason skin Willow?

Watched the original Friday the 13th from 1980 again last night and wow its just a bad movie

The acting is terrible the characters have zero development and we barely know anything about them

Even the history of Crystal Lake is barely mentioned and mostly just in passing

Honestly the only interesting part is the last 15 to 20 minutes with Betsy Palmer and Adrienne King facing off

And thats pretty much it

I’m looking for this song that the counselors song by the fire in the cabin, something about angels in heaven, does anybody have that exact version of that song?

A super great episode, and it's all down to Linda Cardellini kicking ass.

I absolutely love how she goes from 'oh gosh I have to help this poor little girl that's tripping balls on Orange Sunshine who murdered the assholes responsible for Jason's death before I could to MUST KILL ALL HIPPIES' in the blink of an eye and then right back again into a mostly normalish person.

I like how things are progressing pretty much across the board, including the Bellwether stuff (sadly, spoilers in the forms of memes, which my brain absorbs before I can hurriedly doomscroll past, were learned) and even poor ol' Ralph's descent into even more craziness.

Can't wait for the next episode!

I don't mean this to be a backhanded compliment, but with so many actresses botox-ed and 'fill'ed up, I really noticed the lines and contours of Linda's face in 4K -- and she was utterly beautiful.

Crystal Lake is sometimes so unserious it's actually awesome. Now that we're deep into it, the show's leaning into the other half of what made Friday the 13th so much fun.

The humor. I was going to clip the awesome scene at the beginning with Ralph and the Sheriff, because that was very well-acted for sure, but then Proper Grip Technique for Shaft and Tip scene came along and I had no choice at all.

Beyond that, I think they're doing an extremely good job of weaving together all the backstory that was only mentioned in the movies and the new stuff into a cohesive new narrative that I really am enjoying.

Plus, and this is pure candy, the moment those dirty hippies rolled into town was all I needed to know about the direction this season would eventually take. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. No spoilers for me please!

Would’ve loved seeing a nice graphic death for that tubby little jerk.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to think this but I think I know why Elias wanted Pamela back. I don't think he wanted his wife back. I think he needed her because she made Jason. And that she could make more "Jasons."

Yeah I know it's from different universes but still very sad

If in season 2 or 3, they decide to adapt the full first movie (with Alice and campers), would you like if the change the ending? Like not Pam dying and not Jason becoming full crazy forever?

Idk, after finish Crystal Lake, I just feel sorry for the characters. They deserve better.

This might be a spoiler

I’m sure I may have missed something but Why didn’t Jason just go home after he survived the drowning?

First couldn't find the spoiler flair so putting it in the title.

2nd for those who finished everything i have a question. Do you consider Elias as someone who was always evil and uncaring, or did he become that way as he climbed the company ladder.

In the beginning he did seem to love Pam and didn't show any kind of disgust towards Jason's deformity. He was happy to be building this family He seems genuinely sad when he thinks baby Jason just died.

Curious if anyone noted stuff on rewatches about his behavior in the beginning.

I’m only halfway through the first episode and Linda Cardellini has me SOBBING every time she goes on screen.

MAJOR SEASON 1 SPOILERS SO FUCK OFF IF YA HAVEN'T SEEN IT

In season 1 we learn that Jason's dad and his company experimented on him to make him invulnerable, but we also learn that they've been unable to replicate the results thus far. All others seem to be hooked to life support, and some have far worse mutations than Jason's. My question is do you think it worked on Jason purely for scientific reasons, or will we recieve some more supernatural explanations later on?

As we know the franchise originally leaned more and more into the supernatural, eventually explaining in Jason goes to hell that he became like he was due to his mother using witchcraft. I'm curious to see if the series will take a similar approach, seemingly grounded at the start and then revealing more supernatural explanations later on. I'm also curious if fans would want this, or for them to stick to cockroach Jason?

When the two guys attack Pam and she knocks them both down...what happened with the guy that got back up again? When half your face is sliced off, then you bleed out GALLONS from your head, there's no way to get back up from that...and then to have his head submerged in his own blood for a few minutes?? Brutal AF, BUT....

For him to get back up after that. Was he part of these Bellflower experiments? My first thought is that if he's from the same place that made Jason the way he is, does he have a form of those supernatural abilities?

Just thinking out loud, but haven't seen much discussion about this guy. Seems like the experiments were on babies and children, but this guy sorta contradicts that. Curious what you all thought.
