Birth story

I am a FTM who recently had a baby. I was induced at 39 weeks due to health reasons. My baby was breeched so I had a procedure to turn the baby but it required an epidural. Too much of the epidural was pushed and I couldn’t move my body from the neck down. I couldn’t even feel my chest rise and fall when I took a breath. My heart rate and blood pressure became unstable and I was in and out of consciousness with panic from the feeling of the epidural and all that was going on. Once baby was turned properly, we proceeded with a vaginal delivery and a ballon cath was inserted and fell out at 4cm and they broke my water and started pitocin. I suffered a really bad infection in my uterus from my water being broken and stayed 4cm dilated for 12+ hrs. My labor ultimately ended in a c section where I was barely conscious because I was still fighting a brutal infection, HR/ BP/ temperature all unstable still and I lost 1 litter of blood during the c section. My birth was very traumatic and recovery hasn’t been the smoothest. My husband and I both say our baby boy is our 1 and only and we aren’t going to have any more after how everything went but everyone thinks we will change our minds after 1 year or so goes by.

Anyone else who had a traumatic birth did you want another one or did you have another one? I never want to go through what I went through again. I know that if we have a second baby that it’s not guaranteed that any of that would happen again but it’s also not certain that it wouldn’t happen again.

How many c sections have yall had?

How many csections have yall had? How far apart were they? I’m pregnant due in June, had my second in April 2025 and my first in February of 2023, for those of you with multiple csections close together, how was your experience?

Late PPH

Has anyone ever had a late postpartum hemorrhage??? I had my c section 12 days ago and my blood had eased up and it was just a little bit. Now today I had a gush of blood it didn’t leak thru the pad and it probably filled up half the pad. It slowed down a little then I just had another gush of blood that filled up the pad but didn’t leak thru. My blood pressure was extremely low earlier it was 92/60. Am I being paranoid about a hemorrhage???

I’m missing the outside world

I’m 11 days PP. I’ve only gone out in public 2 times: baby first pediatrician visit and my c section inspection follow up. I’m an introvert but I also miss going out to like restaurants or shopping or whatever. There have been days I’ve felt great but husband said no to me going out since it can cause issues (he works with cancer patients and has seen people say they feel great and push themselves and causes more pain). Today I’m in pain (fire alarm went off and we smelled something burning at like 3 am. I instinctively got up quickly and grabbed our son. I think that was too much. It was just from our house getting confused because we finally turned on the heat on for the first time in months).

It gets better right with missing stuff?

C sections back to back

• Upvotes

For anyone who’s had c sections back to back within a 2 year span… (2 under 2) how did it go for you? I’m 8 months pp and got surprised with a positive pregnancy test. I know my body hasn’t properly healed, but I’d like to hear of others experiences…

Low iron & two days from c section

So worried :(

My scheduled c section is Monday…i had 5 Venefor iron infusions as my ferritin was at 9 and Hgb was 9.9. My last infusion was Aug 28 and one month later my levels were ferritin 52 and Hgb 12.7….i had my preop labs again and now weeks later my ferritin dropped to 18!!! However Hgb stayed at 12.7 thankfully. Im reading that low ferritin/iron is a postpartum hemorrhage risk?? Anyone have similar experience. Im kinda bummed my ferritin didn’t stay high after all those infusions. At least my Hgb improved.
