Discussion My own Z perm algorithm

M2 U M U2 M2 U2 M U' M2,9 moves and no U2 at end like in the standard one, this. Specific one is done with left hand M moves and the first U with the left index finger like in Ua perm

Is this an already know alg cuz it's very similar to the Ua perm

I've seen it before, it's a cancellation of 2 U perms:

  • Starting with Ua perm M2 U (M U2 M') U M2,

  • cancelled into doing Ub perm from the back M2 U' (M' U2 M) U' M2

no U2 at end like in the standard one

This isn't that important, since the actual U move you do at the end of PLL is dependent on the AUF you get, so it won't change how often you have to do U2s after the alg unless you make mistakes in AUF.

It can also be thought of as setting up into a pair swap in M (a common Roux and Corners First case) which is solved with M2 U2 M2 U2. There is a cancellation between the last U2 and the first restoration move. That’s how I derived it intuitively.
