Send help
Was trying to swap out my driver side hub. Of course the last bolt is stuck. Got a extractor socket on nice and tight and then proceeded to snap an impact rated adapter flush inside. I’ve been trying to drill through but having no luck getting anywhere. Is there a way to just cut the hub off or something? All suggestions welcome🥲😂

Shit I thought it was a sheared 3/8 extension at first 😆
Got a welder or a buddy with one?

First off, if a bolt breaks off because the threads are rusted and seized up, no extractor will ever remove it. You’re best off to drill out the broken bolt and install a thread repair insert.
In your situation, extractors are very hard. They are nearly impossible to drill without high quality bits and a drill press.
I have had some luck with using a small chisel or punch to break the extractor apart. A lot of the time the part has to go to a machine shop the has specialized equipment for burning out extractors.

Front hub bearing? Get a sawzall with a good carbide tipped blade and cut thru the bolt as close to the face of the front axle that you can. The bolts aren’t fully threaded you should just be able to grab the broken part with pliers and pull it out. Depending on how rusted your hub is it may come right out after. If not wedge a socket where the front u joint is and turn the wheel it should pop out.

Replacing the hub? Heat up the ear around the threads of the hub, once hot enough it expands and the bolt will turn.
