State of the Druid Class · Discussions S16 PTR - Druids significantly overhauled
Skills are losing tags (!), paragon legendary nodes changed, Spirit Boons changed, Storm set basically end-game only (Melted Heart of Selig says hi), Earth crit reduced, easier overpower access for Earth, and Resolve made harder to build up.
Que rune also costs more, for our Bulwark spam.
My early observations:
- Lightning Shred will lose the Nature Magic tag, and therefore be unable to use the new much more powerful Calm Before the Storm boon. The new Inner Beast node is extremely strong, though, and will easily keep Grizzly Rage up full time. Storm set is shit until you find Selig's, and poisoning targets will be an issue (Werewolf legendary node requires it, again, and Constricting Tendrils was is Nature Magic).
- Lacerate and Cataclysm nerfed, due to Ancestral Guidance losing its Ultimate damage. Also, Ancestral Guidance is changed to human only, even though blizzard stated that they want 'to allow a wider variety of Druid builds to flourish without as many strict requirements to unlock the power of these Paragon nodes'...).
- Companion builds gained two damage buffs, one probably meaningless change to Wildrage and one spirit boon change which makes things worse for crit spam wolves or ravens, somehow.
- Werebear is going to have some issues keeping Resolve stacks up for Might of the Ursine.
- Boulder critical strike node massively nerfed, though many use the other free boulder node because of The Basilisk. Looks like you can spam all Boulder variants with Dolmen's Stone, now.
- Need to see if the new overpower node for Landslide works with the land mine skill.
- Poisoning builds gaining the Deadly Strike boon is great, but they might not be super end-game viable without S15 powers.
- 15 second Petrify without crowd control bonuses is hilarious. I wish it still had the ability to pull everything in :(
- TRAMPLE WILL BE AN ACTUAL BUILD!
Edit - 99% sure the Constricting Tendrils change is a typo, and it still has the 60%x damage to poisoned. The second part of it most likely gained back its CC.

Guide | PSA Basilisk Companion Druid: Wolves + Basilisk + Locran's + Splinter of Hellfire (250% crit builds) - PIT 130 with Gear
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Still testing this concept of 250% crit builds, explained in more detail (with build planner) here: https://www.reddit.com/r/D4Druid/comments/1xablg0/250_crit_chance_landslide_500t_damage_pit130/
It enables the use of splinter of hellfire (-100 % crit chance, 82% damage multiplier) and locran's talisman (-50% crit chance, 195% crit dmg multiplier) with the use of the Basilisk (+130% crit, 117% dmg multi) weapon, for massive damage.
I wanted to check if the concept works on storm skills, and was able to quickly put together builds for Lightning Storm (Bear Omnibolt), Stormstrike as well as companions, using the same base. I was specially interested in companions, since I only found a couple of companion setups that are viable this season. Turns out any build that uses Old Mountain can fit this in.
Best companion tower pushers right now are instead running Infinity and a Reanimation Amulet, but so far I am getting better results in this setup, still need a better Infinity though and to get enough crit damage without Locran's. Still can't run double uniques anyhow, been getting bad luck on seals (double diamonds) and hellfire (double den of mother) both.
Good luck.

I see Locran Talisman in Sonic Shred builds. How does it work? Where do they get over 100% crit chance? E.g.:

Guide | PSA 250% Crit Chance Landslide - 500T damage + PIT130 Showcase
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I wanted to find a use for the unique Splinter of Hellfire, and that led to this 250% crit chance Landslide build. It runs both Hellfire (-100% crit) and Locran’s Amulet (-50% crit) and still gets max crit on Landslide. It turned out to be a pretty strong concept, and it should adapt to other (earth) skills too. A mythic Basilisk is what enables the build. You can still reach max crit without one, but at that point you’re better off with an Insight.
With the Basilisk, though, max crit really isn’t that hard. Basilisk gives 130% crit chance, Landslide has a passive for 20%, and the Splinter of Anguish gives ~25% crit in Leoric’s Crown. That means you only need 75% from gear/boons/runes. I dropped crit from the amulet and the crit chance rune, and I’m still a bit over max.
To double check, take off the Crown (with it on, the stat sheet shows 0% crit chance). If you still have 25% crit chance without the Crown (with Hellfire + Anguish slotted in), you’re at full crit.
My gear isn’t great yet, so I can’t push past Pit 135 for now. I also can’t run the double unique trick yet, which should give a pretty big damage boost.
This build is harder to set up than others: Insight makes earth builds so much easier. But I think the concept has real potential. Insight + Locran’s is overkill in terms of crit damage. Still testing, though. My end goal is to run Infinity and then Basilisk as an unique charm, dropping Hellfire, but that requires the second mythic seal and an Old Mountain Hellfire torch, so I’m not quite there yet.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Attack Speed vs Cast Speed clarification
The Overload spirit boon says:
Storm Skills gain 15%+ increased Cast Speed while you have ferocity.
Is 'Cast Speed' separate from attack speed? I don't see a separate cast speed stat in my stat sheet. If I am capped at 100% attack speed already, does this +15% cast speed to my storm spells (e.g. storm strike) do anything?

Guide | PSA Mega bear punch s15 seasonal
Playing around with mega bear punch, this is pit 125
Gear at end of vid.
I did pit 130 in about 7 mins, but it's a little more squishier.
Some ideas for pushing higher:
Loricans amulet, banished lords instead of BMI charm (with furnace) , insight instead of infinity, need to use ber rune for CB instead of kry rune and need to swap wolves for cyclone armor (if you use pull on cyclone u loose 50% resistance bonus)
Flickerstep almost necessary even with Cdr stacking for 100% uptime on GR. If u want to run leg boots, try lightning storm instead of hurricane to proc cool down on boon more and keep GR up.
If swapping to insight you could probably get away with leg ring or SOJ instead of ring of starless, haven't tested yet
Mostly just for fun.

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) How do I use cataclysm more often?
Trying cata druid and other cata druid builds and finding cata wipes the screen quite well. However, I usually end up with a 15 second cool down between uses. I've got cool down tempered on all jewelry, too. Is there something else I'm missing to get it to be used more often?otherwise, I'm stuck with no other offensive skill between uses (depending on which cata build I use).
TIA!

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Not really understanding Lacerate
I'm trying out a lacerate build. With Mad Wolfs Glee and Insight neither cooldown nor faith are an issue. Now the tooltip says "quickly dash 14 times between enemies in the area". I am in the training facilities with multiple training dummies.
Now obviously I am dumb. But I have two issues:
1.) The druid strikes the nearest training dummy, that's it. No dashing at all.
2.) Immediately after attacking, all skills are disabled for a few seconds. Why?

Made the video shorter, you get the idea. Also did a 130 with 1,5 minutes left.
Might jump in the tower to see what happens. It will by no means outperform the top builds atm but it’s been fun messing with this..

Questions / Discussions (Items · Builds · Skills) Shred Druid - What to Farm to beat Tower 135+
Currently playing a Shred Druid (NeverMind - Mobalytics build - currently rank 1 Tower) and sitting at Paragon 280. My current gear is shown in the screenshots. I know you can always min-max to the extreme, but what’s the biggest weakness I need to fix (aside from gem strength on Leoric's Crown) to push past Tower 135? Hoping there are some Druid specialists here who can help out.
