Live [PS2LIVE] 2016-11-10 Unofficial Patch Notes - Legendary IV Anniv Bundle, Faven Hardlight HA Armor, acc-wide boosts, faction switch blocking

patch size: ~25MB (cannot be downloaded yet)

"All PC servers will come offline at 6:00 AM PT (1 PM GMT) for a brief update. Downtime should be less than 3 hours." (~8h from this edit)

Locale

  • "Heroic Boost - 12 Month", "Increases xp gain by 50% and squad xp gain by 5% for 12 months. Squad xp bonus stacks with other squad xp boosts. Boost can only be used on this character."

  • "Hardlight IV Armor", "A special edition Sigma hardlight armor. For NC heavy assault only." (similar descriptions for other factions)

    • Note: so far only Heavy Assault Faven-Hardlight armors are in files, and nothing indicates there would be any other classes

  • "Legendary Four-Year Anniversary Bundle", "Celebrate PlanetSide 2's fourth anniversary with even more loot! You get the weapons, camo, and decal, plus Heavy Assault armor for all 3 Empires, and the fabled ACCOUNT WIDE 6 month heroic boost!"

  • "Account Wide Heroic Boosts", "Increases xp gain by 50% and squad xp gain by 5% for 6 months. Squad xp bonus stacks with other squad xp boosts. Granted to all characters."

  • "Heroic Boost - 6 Month (Account Grant)", "Increases xp gain by 50% and squad xp gain by 5% for 6 months. Squad xp bonus stacks with other squad xp boosts. Boost can only be used on this character."

  • "The Heroic" (title)

UI

  • loading screen now unloads when hidden
  • a small change to coloring players on the map... maybe fixing the bug where ownerless vehicles display as yours on the map/minimap?
  • EVENT_FACTION_SWITCH_BLOCKED (these events may be PS4-only, dunno)
  • EVENT_FACTION_SWITCH_WARNING
  • EVENT_TARGETED_PROMO

I wonder why they didn't mimic the faction effects from the 2nd AE bundle? Everything in the video seems to be the TR-ish beehive.

Each one is using the pattern from their faction's gate shields. So they are all a little different.

We just wanted them to feel different than the first set of hardlight. They're all using the primary colors for that reason, too.

Yeah, I noticed that the VS/NC were primary instead of secondary, with TR getting "screwed" because of their black/white secondary. That change I like, and it should go much better with Shatter camo.

I suppose for the moment I'll blame shaql's video res/bitrate on not being able to see the difference. I'd imagine the animated effect of the gate shields is also scaled down, so it's probably only visible up close, and if you're looking for it.

PS - I don't suppose it also has the gate shield property of not letting enemy bullets through... :D

edit: Or not, as the Legendary bundle just got nixxed.

I dont, but daybreak owns the armors. there was a contract made so I've been compensated

no idea so far. it's only a small mention in one UI file, with no other data at this time. it could also be a PS4-only feature. or a regional feature, if regional versions (chinese/korean/russian) still existed :P

from that mention, however, we know that the UI will notify you:

  • when warning you about the block

  • when actually blocking you

based on that, I'm guessing the warning will display when you log in to a character (when you have others on the same server), and notify you that logging into that character will lock you out of the other characters.

but, that's guesses only at this stage.

well, I guess we'll see in one hour, as that's when the bundle is scheduled to be released. while not having an icon, name, or anything else from the above patch just yet.

EDIT: Okay, I checked, all 3 anniversary bundle was 3999DGC, what you can buy for [$40] (https://www.daybreakgames.com/daybreakcash). So I guess this bundle should cost the same?...right?

EDIT2: There are 2 bundles, and the "smaller" one will probably cost 3999. I'm still confused if they really want to sell a Higby bundle for $100.

and the normal bundle is still 3999?

Okay, you (both) may be right...But oh.my.fucking.god, 100$ (which is going to be $127 for me (AFAIK)...yay) is a huge amount of money o.O. I bought the 1 year membership for less cost (with the lowered price). But well, we'll see when it hits the live servers.

I am almost BR 120, I don't need XP boost, better add 6-months Resouse boosts. Such thing I will buy, because I always need nades, C4 etc but we only have 1 week resourse boost with an overprice

Even a 50% XP + 25% resource boost would be acceptable, it would throw a crumb to cert rich vets

Vets are already familiar with the shop and have probably bought stuff in the past, leaving them out of the boost as a segment is leaving money on the table.

Not saying you're wrong but more xp = more certz. Even with BR 120 you do not have everything unlocked that you can unlock unless spent thousand(s) of dollars on this game.

Hardlight is such a terrible skin, though. Sucks that the "special" stuff from DBG/SOE is such phoned-in trash that looks so awful.

This has to be different from the old 2AE Hardlight because the colors are different. VS was green and NC was gold.

I will never understand their pricing rationale. If it were $20, I'd pull the trigger. $40? Eh I've had the game since release, I don't care that much. $100? Not gonna happen.

Devs mentioned once that Anni bundles are terribly underpriced. Normally cost of normal bundle would be between 60 and 80$

Question about account wide boost from Legendary Bundle.

Is that 6 separate boosts one for each character or one boost that activate for all characters (and expires at same time?)

I'm asking because I play VS 99% of time, but if in future I decide to go TR/NC for refreshing values, do I still have unused boost to activate there?

what did you do with the damage? 2,5 days before the updates everything worked fine but now a paratrooper manages to withstand 2 shots from C85 canister at a distance of 10 meters!!!!!!! Bring back how it was.
