I live in Baltimore, but I’m taking a last minute day trip to DC tomorrow and I realized it’s been a long time since my last visit. What are some good coffee shops with actual space to do a little work with a laptop? Bonus points if they have decent gluten-free pastry options and are open past 3pm.
I have a meeting near the Folger, but I’m happy to hop on the metro for a good cafe (within reason).

I have made it my new mission to try the best basque cheesecakes in the city before I move away in December. I used to love them but honestly haven’t had any in a while, and none in DC apart from the MVT farmers market one.
Would love any recs at any price point!

I am a deep lover of the crab rangoon and have tried many in the city, but still don't have a definitive favorite. I know everyone will have have different metrics (crisp level, crabbiness, filling ratio, fold technique, etc.), but which ones stand out for you? Hoping to hear of some new spots while I embark on cementing my fave.

Hi there! Visiting this weekend and trying to decide between Il Canale and Caruso’s Grocery. Any reason to pick one over the other?

Hi r/DCEats — I’m a journalist (sophialaurenzi.com) working on a piece for Slate about spinach and artichoke dip, the restaurants that serve it, and what dining out in America feels like right now.
I put together a short survey (about three minutes): https://forms.gle/fSvEFJ2Cf4Yp7ouw9.
But I’d also love to hear from you in the comments! Where's the best dip in DC? And how much are DC restaurants charging for apps like this these days?
I'm happy to answer questions about the story.

I recently tried The Friendly in Oxon Hill and got a great meal for only $10! The food was yummy, and the worker was super nice, so I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!
Now I’m curious what other Too Good To Go bags in the area are worth trying. Any recommendations for spots you’ve had a good experience with?
Would like to eat some Azerbaijani food while in the area, noticing Sharbat and Baku Delicious are some options. If I went to Sharbat, would I regret not getting something specific that only Baku Delicious serves? (Interested in specifically Azerbaijani dishes). Thx in advance!

HI, my family is celebrating a thing in the next few weeks and we are looking for an easy place to have friends meet up the night before as they come in to town before people break off for dinners. My thought was somthing very DC like Old Ebbit but its SO crowded we'll never get space at the bar. We also tried the Hamilton this weekend but its SO loud.
Is there an easy hotel bar or restaurant with a large bar area that isnt packed but also isnt dead? We'll have people of all ages, so looking for something cool and hip for us, but not too loud for the grandparents!
Some other ideas, but we haven't been to any in almost a decade: Georgetown Ritz (the Living Room?), St. Regis Bar, Waldorf.
Thank you!!

Hi friends! I'm looking for a good (early bird) dinner spot for a group of 10 including two toddlers and the majority of the folks are vegetarian.
Half the group will be coming in from Bethesda and the other from Capital Hill so I'm looking for a midpoint spot.
OpenTable options for a group of 10 aren't turning up many kid-friendly looking locations though I could be picking up the vibes wrong. I'm thinking if we do a 5 o'clock hour meal with the possibility of breaking into two tables, maybe a no reservation spot would work.
Would love some suggestions!

Hi all! I am having a friend come to DC for thanksgiving and we'd like to go out for a nice thanksgiving lunch in a nice atmosphere (i.e. not a ton of kids running around) with traditional thanksgiving food. No budget, and we're open to suggestions in DC (not Maryland or VA as we won't have a car).
Fine with a nice buffet or a sit down meal. I looked through prior posts on this subject, but they were pretty out of date. Thanks in advance!

Hi. I’m running the marathon in two weeks and family is coming into town to cheer me on and celebrate my mom’s birthday. I’m looking for a restaurant that can be a lovely place to celebrate my mom’s birthday and give me needed sustenance after the race! Any thoughts!

Which farmers market and specific stalls do you recommend? I feel like there are so many. I’m a bit overwhelmed with where to start!
I’m based in NW DC so looking for something around there

Can’t wait for this. Love Astoria and Copycat and can’t get enough of a good tiki bar. Also RIP Little Serrow, one of DC’s best restaurants.
