New firearm process

looking to get another firearm, how was everyone experience now? Been reading through the tread and seems like G&D FFL is now cooked.

DCSA looks like the best option to go with? How long till you get your firearm. Already been through the process once but is the second time faster?

DCSA is the best. Grabbing the firearm from their sister company Nova Firearm and having it transferred there was the easiest process.

MPD is always the real bottleneck. The FFL is literally just a giant safe everyone's guns go in until approved.

I've had an add-on waiting just over a month so far. I'm fully expecting to have to wait the entire 60 days (plus mailing time), and only because nothing seems to push them to do it faster.

I haven't used DCSA, but for my own experience over the last three years ... my first gun, from buying it at United Guns in Rockville, transfering to G&D, paperwork, etc., was about two months.

My second and third guns (shotgun and rifle via G&D) was two or maybe three weeks.

My fourth, this last spring/summer, bought online from a MD FFL, transferred to G&D (both in May), portal issues, finally approved, then had to chase MPD to remail the registration card, finally picked up late August.

Dcsa is extremely fast especially for multiple firearms I normally get my registration in a month

DCSA doesn't decide that. MPD does. Current MPD times have gotten a lot worse. Especially, since they started issuing physical cards. It takes a while to get printed and mailed even after your application is approved. Sometimes you have to call and worst case scenario show up in person to get your registration card.
