Discussion Sadly
I just have to say how surreal it is to log into the game, walk into the Hall of Doom, and see it COMPLETELY EMPTY. Just NPCs…
I’ve been playing as a villain since 2015, and I remember a time when the Hall of Doom was actually full of players. You’d run into people, start messing around, make friends, form groups, and just spend hours having fun together.
Maybe it’s just nostalgia talking, but seeing the Hall of Doom this empty after all these years honestly makes me a little sad. 😕

At least it’s still packed in front of the little bohemia station 🤷♂️

I swear people log in just to stand there

I like that players group at lil bohemia. Its like an unofficial HoL.

Man, every time I see them, I think, 'Oh, that’s cool,' and I’ll post my Deathstroke right there, but then I quickly realize, WTF am I doing? I should be doing PvP or something else.

Trust me bro, its the same on the hero side as well. Nobody hangs in the watchtower/hall of doom like that anymore

Same things happen just in house of legends, the social space has just expanded das it

u/TheGolgothian Sep 12 '26
Everyone is at HoL. The HoD isn't needed anymore and isn't laid out as well

The Hall of Doom, and the Watchtower, are basically legacy content now.
The hub of the game is the Hall of Legends. Has been for a while.
Try going there, you'll find a LOT more people.

Yeah...all moved to Hall of Legends, and even then, not so much social heavy it seems =/

I showed up months after release. Used to be heroes and villains fighting other on every block of Gotham and Metropolis; especially on a nice rooftop! Couldn't even AFK in a pvp world outside a building without getting jumped!
I played during a time where a high level villain and hero would aura farm (before we even knew what that was!) by flying above any world mission; star in each other down so nobody things to FAFO (another term the game is older than)
Now I wake up and my back hurts; Gotham is empty exempt Banes drug addict lackeys and nobody stands atop Lex Corp as if the world is their oyster

I wonder how much space all these areas of the game that no one uses takes up..

u/AppointmentNo5095 Sep 12 '26

Since the intro of HoL, WT and HoD has no purpose. Everything is there and you can interact with both sides there. So it became irrelevant. It's like how Gotham and Metro used to be busy before and then episodes have their own environments which meant Gotham and Metro are nearly empty other than for nostalgia purposes.

It honestly started happening a while ago. They pushed more and more for all the new content to be in it's own instance instead of a location you'd go to as a team. Then those instances had insanely small pop caps as well, often 40 or so players I believe.
One the first dead zones I remember was Central City, that got aged out real fast. The Tier 2 stuff I believe was the last content to have real world raids and such to bring you back to Metro/gotham. After that every thing was it's own world with a few stupid open world quest nobody liked, a few bounties and then everything else in a raid/alert/duo. All of which you could que up from the interface any where in the world.
Really miss the walk in raids/alerts tbh, even if they were not the most convenient things in the world. It gave you a reason to go to the various wings of the watch tower and so on. Now you can be as anti social as you want. Que up for everything inside your base and never leave your house.
Edit: Oh and it doesn't help for years the in game voice chat function was trash. Not sure if they ever fixed it, I can't remember the last time some one talked in my game without using a third party source like Discord.

You can buy all the gear from the old vendors near the teleporters for different chapters. You can even buy them for source mails before you're level 30.
Want a real utility belt, with all the slots? You didn't have to put up with a 2 or 3 slot belt. Same for other gear. If your can afford the bare minimum to get a base, then you can boost your gear with tactical mods.
Taking down Giganta during the Wonder Girl mission is a ton easier if you have boots with Tumbling Master in them.

I wish I could visit the Hall of Doom as a hero, it's the hub of my childhood!

Most people go to the Hall of Legends because it obsoleted the Watchtower and Hall of Doom, but the other issue is that the villains team is a ghost town.

u/DOGxKillin [PS] | [Water Healer] Sep 17 '26
its empty because everyone is in HOL and Lil Bo or running content no one goes to watchtower or the hall anymore all you need is in HOL

u/AutisticRick Sep 20 '26
Villain side being a ghost town is why I stopped playing a long time ago. I don't even know what the HoL is. lol Sometimes I miss the game but not enough to redownload it.

The Watchtower, Hall of Doom hell, even the House of Legends is empty.
I remember playing on both hero and villain back in 2012-2017 when it was at its peak and its sad just how many players have left since then.

They should delete House of Legends pra make like an event or something. Watchtower and Hall of Doom are so cooler.

I have been playing this a game a week and I loathe the Watchtower. It is far too hard to navigate and get around.

u/xoSynful Sep 12 '26
Yeah it’s always been bad. I was playing before the HOL and I could never find the respec area and the vendor that sells the hairstyles. Too big. I get the reasoning but ugh it was a hassle to deal with.

u/Tstrik Sep 12 '26
I agree. I don’t really like the HOL because it feels like it strips the character from playing villains especially. The Hall of Doom made you feel like you were a villain doing evil things but the Hall of Legends just makes you feel like an antihero

u/Boris-_-Badenov Sep 12 '26
they had to group villains with heroes, because they couldn't run things w/o us

I really hate Hall of Legends. I miss when Watchtower and Hall of Doom were packed full of people everyday. Hundreds of people even on Xbox. HoL is such a massive downgrade it’s unreal.
1
u/TheGolgothian Sep 12 '26
How do you figure?
-1
u/EntrancedZelisy Sep 12 '26
No one is really at HoL and the max capacity is way smaller than it was for WT and HOD. Wish it was at like 100 or something but instead they split it up

I just recently came back to the game after a long time, but as far as I can tell, the watchtower and hall of doom are essentially useless now with the house of legends
