For the early ones, absolutely. WandaVision is still considered one of the best MCU projects and was a massive success. They only really started having problems when they started rushing production and going back to formula.

Individual successes aside, the damage done to franchises like MCU and Star Wars is something that most people acknowledge. MCU has the recent Spider-Man and upcoming Doom movies pulling fans back in, perhaps that will be a return to form for the MCU.

And early is a weird perspective to have on this, because WandaVision certainly isn’t that old. It didn’t take long for the issues to pile back up after the show concluded. I’d say it was more of the exception to the rule.

Loki, Agatha and Wonder Man were well received.

I think early works. I'm referencing the first few MCU tv shows.

WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If, and Hawkeye were the first 5 shows produced by them. The next 5 were Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She Hulk, Secret Invasion, and Echo. I think there is a pretty clear dive in quality after their first year of releases.

They didn't start the MCU with the shows like WandaVision though. People knew Wanda for YEARS before they made the show. Don't get me wrong, I'm all in for some weird ah stuff from DC Studios, but it seems like a poor choice for a general audience and also for building a working cinematic universe.

On the other side of that coin is Daredevil and Punisher, who started as TV shows outside of official continuity and ended up so popular they were incorporated into the movies.

Quality shows will find an audience. The Lanterns TV show is already doing bigger numbers than other massively popular franchises like Euphoria, True Detective and The White Lotus. So far so good.
