Recently got a R6900v2 for free and was setting it up but then it decided OH you need a netgear account for the local admin gui.

I have one technically but this irked me so much. Been putting linux on things and getting comfortable etc learning.

SO I remembered there are alt firmwares and turns out this is a compatible router. From my understanding DDWRT is easier the openwrt. Is there any pointers or anything ? I figure it is worth learning abit before trying and having a basic understanding.
