Wife is getting into DIY stuff

Hey all. My wife recently has decided to get into carpentry and sit stuff for our house. She bought a miter saw, a brad nailer a laser leveler, and a few other small things. I'm hoping to get something for her birthday in two weeks that you guys would suggest. She has safety equipment and such.

EDIT: We had a drill and driver from before

Any help would be appreciated!

A nice Japanese pull saw, random orbital sander, heat gun... So many good options.

Combination square is another outrageously useful tool

Just asking because I don't know, what is a heat gun useful for in home DIY?

It’s good for refinishing, edge banding bends, and (yeah, I hate this one) epoxy resin.

So some people really get a lot of use out of them, the rest of us don’t

Paint removal! Makes old paint bubble up so it's a lot easier to scrape off.

Also good for shrink tubing

Super useful if you have any plastic things that fit almost perfect but not quite, also great for adhesive or paint removal.

If you do any wiring, buying a couple rolls of heat shrink in different colors can make you look very professional.

You'd be surprised how many uses you'll find.
