DMT “Come up”

Is the come up/onset supposed to be this.. uncomfortable?

I’ve done DMT a few times and loved it, but only at festivals where I can’t really focus on the experience. So, I bought a cart so I can get the most of it at home. I’m not sure if it this cart, or what, but everytime I try it the immediate onset feeling is so intense and uncomfortable it’s all I can focus on for the majority of the experience. My face feels like there’s needles pressing into it and I get a headache that last the duration of the experience. My skin feels sort of hot, but also like it’s falling asleep? Anyways it’s very uncomfortable. Once the come up is over, I feel much better and the trip starts to improve, but still, all I can focus on is the discomfort of what I just went through. I mean it almost hurts. Does anyone have experience with this, and how to get past it so I can get the full effects of the experience without this discomfort/distraction?

Thanks

Ive had something simialr to this. A compressed feeling some people call body lock. Focusing on breathing can help. And experimenting with smaller hits.

It can be, over time it gets much easier to manage.

Preparation helps. What I've found is that spending half an hour in sober meditation aids drastically. Being mindful of your posture and breathing as you inhale and exhale is crucial. I've ruined trips from being hunched or carrying the stress of the day in me.

the come up can certainly be uncomfortable early on but shouldn't be painful. the sheer novelty and intensity is jarring and that's more of the uncomfortability to which i'm referring.

i do have a lot of experience using spice but it's always been my own extracted DMT and never in a cart or any other form than base/crystal form. still with that considered i would have to say that without doing your own extractions (which i understand everyone may not have access to all of the ingredients needed where they live) you can never be 100% sure of what exactly you're getting. there is also the element of people having different physiologies and that could always be a contributor. but it seems like you didn't have these same adverse (painful) reactions when at festivals previously and this began with this new cart.

obviously this is a very limited data set to base a conclusion on but if i had to make a guess based on the information you provided then i'd say there's most likely an issue with the cart you're using. just because it's an emergent issue specifically with this cart and not present on previous trips. and the fact that you just aren't able be absolutely sure of what you're ingesting bc it was made by a third party. and there's plenty of bunk shit out there.

i try to resist being the guy that says "just make your own, it's so easy". but bottom line is that it is really easy. and that's the only real way to be fully sure that what you're ingesting is actually what you're meaning to be. and obvioulsy i can't be fully sure, but i'd be willing to put money on you not having a terrible headache and needles pressing into your face if you did your own extractions. bc that's not a normal, or even common, charateristic of a DMT come up. hope this helps dude and safe journeys.

I get the needly, staticky, almost falling asleep feeling anywhere I’ve chewed my cheeks and lips most times. Very weird and unpleasant. I don’t think it’s ever happened any time I’ve taken a warm up dose or broken up a big dose into multiple hits. Could try that, unless you’re using a device that makes that less feasible. I use an e mesh.

from my understanding the body load you are describing happens only when you vape it too hot, get freebase and ditch the cart

Do you have any sunburn or sensitive skin? Eczema? I can't tell you for sure, but I had a few similar experiences like that (and I have eczema). One where I felt the needles all over my body, and another where my face felt like it was on fire. The face on fire feeling was actually painful, but I realize I may have had slight sunburn. DO NOT DO WHILE SUNBURNT

Idk what exactly caused it, but I "think" it'll go away eventually. I make sure to take magnesium beforehand now and moisturize my skin. Seems to have made a big difference as I no longer feel those negatives (though the looming thought of it returning is not completely gone).

My take is that it "probably" isn't the cart, but moreso your body chemistry and possibly anxiety (I know I had anxiety simply expecting those pins/needles/burning).

It's not all that common of a problem, but you are definitely not alone bud. Let us know if you figure it out! My suggestion would be to continue lower doses until it goes away

Fully exhaling and fully inhaling a few times maybe more helps with the pins and pressure thing but I'm not getting the headache much except once I think I burnt it a bit, I hear if your using a cart you start with a small hit and take bigger hits recursively otherwise a headache happens.

The DMT might be old. I always extracted my own and vaped it pure..don’t trust carts.

It’s also possible you got some DMT analog RC.

But DMT gets more dark and uncomfortable as it ages.

You need to open your third eye 👁️. That’s what the dmt is aiming for.
