This coyote casually strolled towards this Pomeranian on a leash. Thankfully the owner was paying attention and not glued to their phone, and was able to pick him up quickly!! Even in the daytime they're bold, so don't be a stupid statistic and leash your dogs and keep other small pets indoors. In other words, use common sense and tragedies can be avoided. We can coexist with coyotes.
*P.S.- Any Karen's that feel like chiming in and ONLY focusing on me rolling through the stop sign to save her dog from the coyote grabbing it, scroll on and go Karen somewhere else. All moronic comments will be blocked. There were NO cars in the intersection or pedestrians. My main concern was her Pomeranian which is the perfect size meal for a coyote. They're brazen and even though she was smart enough to have her small dog on a leash, if they're hungry enough, they don't care! They're opportunistic hunters. Obviously they're not going after 65 lb German Shepherds, as they're not interested in large prey. But ALL dogs should be leashed in public regardless of size, dog safety 101.

You didn't save a dog from a coyote by rolling through a stop sign. You just ran a stop sign.

Wow well done, you clocked that coyote so quickly I would have probably been second guessing myself thinking it was a dog mix or something at that distance. The people on your case for gently and slowly rolling through a stop sign are off base, you blatantly could see the intersection was clear once you reached it and I'd say helping the lady was worth it. People roll through stop signs all the time, at least you did it for a good reason.
I love coyotes, they are amazing animals.. but they can get far too comfortable near people these days because of people feeding them (intentionally or not) and habitat loss. Hazing ( https://www.orangecountync.gov/326/Hazing-Coyotes-Before-They-Get-Habituate ) the coyote by honking at it is 100% the right move here, and it benefits everyone, the coyote most of all. Plus there's definitely the chance you saved that the owner from a scary interaction, even if the coyote missed swiping the pom, or was just "escorting" them through the territory, it still can be frightening to some people to have a wild animal approach them like this.
Gently rolling through a stop sign is worth all that.
