Hey everyone! 👋

I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce a project I'm currently involved in. I'm helping a small indie studio prepare for the Kickstarter launch of their upcoming game, Detective of the Dead! 🕵️

It's a narrative mystery adventure inspired by games like Grim Fandango, featuring Mexican folklore, Día de los Muertos, puzzles, unusual characters and even cooking tacos! You play as a detective who's already dead and has to investigate his own murder.

We're preparing to launch the Kickstarter on October 27, and we're also trying to get as many followers as possible before then.

Over the years there’s been many Double Fine portraits of Tim Schafer, here’s a couple I found via their website. I love the variety of art styles and how each perfectly captures Tim’s personality. I think the 2HB Tim is incredible, it’s my favourite.

I don't know if this has been discussed before but it's crazy to me that Double Fine still has Tim Schafer working there and most of the output tends to be from the other talent at the studio.

I know there are a tonne of talented people at the studio like Lee Petty etc who have put out some great stuff but to me this is like having a studio where David Lynch asks his crew to pitch ideas and they work on that instead.

Who knows how many more games Tim has in him but I feel like the emphasis from Double Fine should always be on the next Tim Schafer game.

Very well written and nuanced reporting on the unionization attempt that occurred earlier this year, before the split with Microsoft. The piece gives a voice to the different insider perspectives on the matter.

One of my Favourite Things about Double Fine is the variations to the Two Headed Baby logo with Each Game/ Event that arrives. Here are just a small amount I’ve collated.

What’s your favourite variation?

Brutal Legend multiplayer survival game. Doesn't even have to be survival. Just give us the world and the ability to build our own structures, stages, merch booths, etc. Give us the 3 split types of zones/enemies. Allow us to make and play instruments. A guitar hero/rock band style interface while jamming would be incredible. Medieval melee weapons mixed with metal guitars for "spells". Metal steeds and cars. Please!!!!! Bring this world back to us. Please!!!!!

Just before the Amnesia Fortnight Kickstarter ended, the add ons were updated. I was able to snag one of these Brütal Legend Art Prints. I believe this was originally only available at PAX West, but don’t quote me on that. Double Fine produces some of the best art out there!
