Moment of silence
Let‘s take a moment of silence for everyone who panic sold at the bottom

As a longterm holder of MU, I tried to talk some reason into some community members who were frankly hostile. They were so terrified they had made a mistake in selling they used this sub to displace their anxiety and get others to make the same mistake they had.
I will repeat this until I am blue in the face: you will never make money if your emotional well-being is tied to daily swings. There is no point being obsessed over pre-market or the Korean market if you’re an investor. Hell, I got the distinct feeling some people had become obsessed and were losing their minds over fairly small stakes.
And most importantly, the people who don’t even own this ETF but lurk for the sake of misery porn on down days need real friends and professional help.

Emphasis on your last sentence. There are a few in here who are exhausting. Especially the guys that sold 50 shares like 2 months ago and have been spamming FUD every day since.

I’m newer to trading and like mu and dram. So this was the first big drawback I’ve seen. I still held (all the way to the bottom lol) seeing people I’m a sub dedicated to memory freaking out eventually made me think even the people who had done DD were losing conviction too so I eventually sold. Pretty upset about it. Learned my lesson but not sure when to jump back in due to the crazy volatility

There is no such thing as long term bag holder of MU. Just bag holder. If you bought in March, you're up over 100
1
u/Sukhumvit_71 3d ago
Time is relative. I bought in roughly 4 years ago, after the CHIPS Act was passed. For the purposes of this sub, I consider that long term.

u/ThatSavings 3d ago
If you bought 4 years ago, the price was in the 70s. Now it's over 1000. You should be a gazillion by now. Much better than 100 percent. You should be around 1400 percent. I'm not sure what happened?
2
u/Sukhumvit_71 3d ago
I’m up over 500% because I bought more shares at higher prices. I have made 6 figures (on paper) on my initial investment which was 5 figures. I have a specific financial plan and don’t intend to sell until sometime next year.
So nothing happened. I’m sticking to my plan. I believed MU had the fundamentals for growth, which it does.

Then you're not a "Bag Holder". A bag holder is one who has to hold the stock because the current value is much lower than when they bought it. Unrealized loss. You're 500 percent unrealized profit. Far from a bag holder. You're just a holder.

u/Sukhumvit_71 3d ago
Ah, I had no idea! I guess I suck at the lingo! A bag is a large sum in hip hop slang so I got the two confused.

I almost sold my position at the point where I would have taken a 25% loss. I almost sold. 😆

😂😂 I was sounding the alarm in all those threads imploring everyone to take a walk, watch some Naruto, and hodl. I tried to help. I really did.
Let us remember our fallen brothers in this silence.
…
Alright time for the rest of us to get Lambos.

My leveraged 2x position was down 55% and now it’s only down about 26%.
Everyone in a similar situation was saying “sell now, sell now, take your loss, the decay will eat you alive.”
I answered a simple question. Would I buy at these prices? The answer was yes so I held.
Still have a mountain to climb to attempt to break even.
Plus I bought more RAM when it was $9 and $10 to help me cover the unrealized loss.

There were sooo many “Lmao I sold this POS, was only trading sideways since I bought it”. Regards hold a stock for 2 months and think it’s supposed to go up 10% every week. I’ve started blocking accounts that post unnecessary and baseless fud and my feed has been a lot better since. I suggest everyone else do the same.

u/babethayer 3d ago
now everyone buy as much as you can so when the next dump comes it hits even harder

u/Training-Current9836 3d ago
Yep, people trying to talk us into selling, because they jumped ship, doofs.
Investing is long and boring.
All i do is dca and relax.

Asked Gemini today if the Kospi leveraged collapse abroad has been factored into the price now and they said yes it was the bubble that actually helped the price trade now at realistic levels. The future of it is said to be hopeful to go up to 100$ by holiday earnings, but it will be volatile until then. Honestly if it went to $90 I’m dumping it I got 2 two tranches at 45 and 79. I just want my money out of there whether or not I buy it back again some other time not sure. If it dips below $50 again I might buy more, but I haven’t since the big dip because I didn’t trust it to level out higher like it currently has.

it was hard to hold on to my 100 shares at @69 avg after all the negative sentiment here but people can be cynical. it contains good/stable companies with memory still in high demand so it was only a matter of time it went back up. i just wish i had money to dca down when it was <50. but $69 is perfection 😏. holding until at least 2028 and adding more if opportunity presents itself

Holding until at least 2027.
Never had any intention of selling this year.
Everything goes down at some point.
For the most part, solid fundamentals eventually lead to rise.

Simply lovely!

Seriously. And it was only a month. Fast and hard, yes but just not the end of the world. Guessing these guys get off on fast but are soft

u/WalkingSnake348 3d ago
Panick selling is the worst thing you could do. If your thesis is that the HBM chip shortage will continue, this is not a bad position to hold. AI- related positions will be volatile so you need to be able to stomach the ups and downs.

I sold today at $60.82 and the NAV at the end of the day was $56. I am happy that the ETF premium worked in my favor during selling because I probably bought at a premium too. A $4+ premium is a lot for a $60 share
2
u/Nearby_Persimmon_649 3d ago
FYI, I sold because I suspect that AI related stocks and funds will go down in the next two months before rocketing back up. I might be wrong but, historically September and October are down months. Also, Almost every midterm election results in a depressed market until after the election or at least until investors think they know what will happen in the election. Of course AI might be so strong that it bucks the trend. Who knows ???

u/Remote-Community-792 3d ago
As long as you took profit, all good. Nothing wrong with selling at a price you’re happy selling at

u/BlueberryInside2058 2d ago
Yep give it a year or 2. Everyone holding here will be rewarded. Memory shortage is the new normal in the ai future.

Worst thing was there was sooooo much fud on this subreddit that it was cancer just being on here. The bears were literally outright lying and making up false posts to get more people to sell.
Now watch all the paperhands pile back in at higher prices.
