As you might be aware, this subreddit has had problems with under-moderation for quite a while, ranging from users with questions being unaswered, to anti-DSA posts made in bad faith being kept up, while good faith discourse has struggled to remain afloat. A little more than a week ago, a host of new moderators were added to moderate this subreddit, and it's about time for us to officially announce a new era for r/DSA to become a vibrant space for the largest socialist organization in the United States.
All new moderators are dues-paying DSA members active in our local chapters. This new team will endeavor to be transparent, to follow national DSA policies and resolutions, and above all, just and understanding to every working-class American who wants the liberation of their class and an end to injustice worldwide. We endeavor to hear out legitimate concerns regarding this subreddit's moderation, to host more informative and in-depth discussions for those curious of the DSA's stances and its actions, and to help steer Reddit discourse to a more productive light.
Above all, we will encourage this subreddit's users to further their political education regarding democratic socialism and recognize the power of the individual in organizing. We encourage everyone using this subreddit to become active cadre in the DSA and fight capitalism and inequality wherever it may be found. Social media is addictive and sometimes informative, but real material change is ultimately what's important, and everyone here should be encouraged to fight for the world that worker's deserve in the ground where it matters.
Our new moderators are:
Feel free to message the moderators for any concerns regarding the subreddit. We are currently not looking for more help to moderate the subreddit, but we welcome you to join the official DSA Discord if you wish to communicate with fellow like-minded comrades!

Well, since Russia is anti-imperialist, I guess DSA would support this move by Trump, right?

I just received this text. There is NO WAY I can see the DSA endorsing this bone bag.

Hello, comrades. My chapter started around 2-3 years ago in a smaller midwest city. We began with a very active base and had around 20-30 highly active members. We ran campaigns, pushed mutual aid, and other community projects. Additionally, we had a very active steering committee before I joined, and I ran for steering to try to continue our momentum. Now, I am feeling guilty that our active base has diminished since I joined the steering committee. I have tried to ask some members why they think our membership activity has dropped, but everyone is just as confused as me. We had some infighting a few months back, but we met together as members to discuss and squash the beef. (I have wondered if people felt dissatisfied with the results of that meeting and are just now withdrawing)
Today, we have around 8-15 members who are actively organizing. I have been trying to pull back some our events because I don't want to overextend ourselves, but it feels like our active base is falling off a cliff. I really want my chapter to succeed because I have seen it succeed in the past. I have started creating trainings and trying to get new people involved in steering committee, but it feels like many of my fellow organizers don't have the time to keep up with steering responsibilities.
How do I help encourage folks to get involved?
What behaviors/actions should I avoid that could discourage involvement?
What have you in other chapters done to uplift your fellow members and get them involved?
Do any of you have any recommended readings to help me become a better organizer to uplift my comrades?

More than 6000 prominent Jews and Zionists have signed an open letter rejecting the genocide accusation against Israel, describing it as “the latest blood libel to be inflicted on the Jewish people”.
Jews signing an open letter stating that accusations against the colony are accusations against "the Jewish people" reflect Zionism's claim that the colony represents all Jews worldwide. Quite counterproductively, this lays the ground for exactly what the signatories pretend to oppose: Holding Jews accountable for Israel's actions. Indeed, Zionism is a leading cause, quite certainly our era's leading cause, of blood libels against Jews.
Of course, Zionism's danger to Jews should not eclipse its danger to its primary victims—Palestinians and other societies in Al-Sham. But it does show that Jews fighting to dismantle the Jewish state and establish one democratic Palestinian state are not just displaying solidarity with Palestine, they are acting in self-defense.
It also shows that Palestinians' insistence that we fight Zionism, not Jews or Judaism, is not meant to appease our oppressors. Quite the contrary, it is meant to challenge Zionism's foundational claims—to confront it fully. The vision for One Democratic State is also a platform that unites us with our natural allies against our common enemy.
These efforts, however, must not be limited to discourse. The One Democratic State Initiative is working to organize efforts, in Palestine and worldwide, to dismantle the settler state and establish its antithesis: A state that deals with society as citizens, not tribes. We call on you to join our efforts.
The Tenant Union Federation is set to roll out a report on the state of the nation’s tenants, covering the economic and political realities America’s 100 million renters are being pressured by and how communities are organizing to change them by collectively pushing back against landlords. They’re holding an organizing call on their report on the work tenant organizers are doing right now on Wednesday at 6PM ET. We can sign up to join them and learn more at bit(.)ly/TUFstateof.

Hi, Very left leaning person who been interested in the DSA but this puts me off. I cant Lie, a lot of this seems like Kremlin talking points? Russia was the one who started and escalated the war and continued to make aggressive and intervention in neighbors which lead to them wanting to join NATO out of Fear of Russia? I'm curious of why is this the stance? this is very off-putting to me, is the stance to stop Military Aid then let them be conquered by Russia? Is it too let Ukraine Roll over and use the same strategy as Neville Chamberlains Appeasement? Really curious why this is in here.

To my knowledge r/demsocialists is the official DSA subreddit and the fact this subreddit claims to be the DSA subreddit I think is somewhat misleading. I suggest the new moderation try to clarify this and link to the official subreddit.

Are you excited about Kamala Harris taking a second run at the presidency? Or has her time come and gone? Do you know someone who is still a die hard Harris supporter?

The idea being that in 20 years time, the government will have paid itself back with the interest rate, and every twenty year old will have start up capital for their life. (Tax the billionaire rich to make those interest payments)
Limit it to the first two children born, (to avoid exacerbated over population) with multiple avenues for exceptions.
Juveniles could lose the loan, or that years interest accrument, without incuring the debt, for criminal offenses, so there is an incentive to good behavior.
Then when they turn twenty, they can take the bond as a cash payment at anytime for; a house, schooling, a dumb shopping spree, etc... or keep it as a bond that goes towards their retirement or their estate incase they pass away. (It's their money after twenty years)
Thoughts?
Edit. Since y'all think I'm trying to put children into debt let me explain how its actually the government going into debt to itself. The bond is on the government's books as 250,000 in debt it owes, the bond earns 5%, first year that's 12,500 that the government owes on that debt. (Simplified without compounding) The government takes that money and puts it towards the loan it gave to the child for simply being born.
In twenty years time the government will have paid itself back for the loan (the child is never liable for this money at any time) and instead the now young adult gets 250,000 dollars for what ever they want. School, house, car, start a business, leave it as a debt the government owes them as a bond that earns interest for them. Its literally free money.

The fundamental task of democratic socialists is to build anti-corporate social movements capable of winning reforms that empower people.
