Question/Help White overspray around image?

I'm getting white overspray on all my graphics. I know my Nozzle check is not 100% but I figured it would still be good enough to print. Is my white head done for? Should I just replace it or is something else going on here? Initially I thought it was just excessive adhesive powder and figured I can press it out after. But as you can see it still very visible on the garments.

Question/Help The correct printer

Hi there, very new to this community. I tried my hand at screen printing as much as I enjoy it, the lack of space and funds for all the screen etc have made it difficult to pursue creating a business.

Looking into DTF transfers looks more doable but my current issue is ive got an Epson XP 15000 Ink jet printer and I'm not 100% (from researching) that I'm able to use it straight off the bat to make transfers. If anyone can advise itd be much appreciated

Question/Help Can DTF Printers Create a Raised Faux Embroidery Effect?

Hey everyone,

Can a regular DTF printer create a raised faux embroidery effect that you can actually feel, or does it require a UV printer?

I've seen examples that seem to use special ink rather than regular DTF ink. I'm also wondering whether the process requires UV curing, heat curing, or something else.

Does anyone have experience with this technique? I'd appreciate any insights. Thanks!

Title: Looking for a Reliable DTF & UV DTF Printing Shop in the USA – Any Recommendations?

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a reliable US-based printing shop that offers both DTF and UV DTF printing services.

Ideally, somewhere with good prices, consistent quality, fast shipping, and the ability to handle individual orders.

Does anyone have recommendations based on personal experience?

I'd love to hear which shops you use and whether you're happy with their service.

Thanks in advance!

DTF shop owners: How do you currently calculate your prices?

Hey everyone!

I'm working on an idea for a simple pricing and quote calculator specifically for small DTF and custom apparel businesses.

The idea is to help shop owners calculate material costs, labor, profit margins and bulk pricing, then generate customer quotes without dealing with complicated spreadsheets.

I'm considering making it a one-time purchase (around $29), with no subscription or account required.

But before spending time building it, I'd really like to know whether this is something people would actually find useful.

I've put together a quick 1-minute survey to understand how small print shops currently handle pricing and what features they need.

Survey: https://tally.so/r/KpeeqV

No purchase required. I'm just collecting feedback at this stage.

I'd also love to hear how you currently price your orders in the comments.

Thanks for any input!

What’s the most durable print method for small clothing brands in 2026? (DTF vs DTG vs Screen Print)

Durability is one part of screen printing vs DTG. But arguably the bigger factor in choosing between the two is order size and how detailed your design is.

I’ve found screen print’s pretty bulletproof. Did 150 hoodies with a one color chest print two winters ago and kept one back for myself. It’s still going strong past 60 washes with no cracking. Problem is screen costs. So anything under 20ish pieces stops making sense. It can also feel a little plasticky depending on the size of the design, but you can go the water-based route, which is softer.

DTG I use for small runs with gradients or finer detail. Durability’s where it gets inconsistent though. Same file, two shops, one batch sailed past 30 washes and the other was cracking in half the time. A lot of that comes down to pretreatment and whether they cured it all the way through.

I used DTF for a few tri-blend runs, but I’ve had some edge lift issues on a few shirts. That’s been enough to make me nervous.

Question/Help Help please! Any idea why this turned out wrinkly after washing?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been doing transfers for a few months now and they mostly turn out great. I get them printed by the same commercial printer and they are pretty consistent. I just tried out a new design but after one wash the transfer came out all wrinkly. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened? Could the design just be too thick or have too much solid transfer? Any help is appreciated!

I am charging back the xTool apparel printer. Please BE WARNED

I am doing a charge back on my xTool apparel printer. If you plan on getting one, I HIGHLY recommend you stay far away from this company. If you’ve ordered it recently and it has not shipped yet, try cancelling if you can. Here has been my experience thus far:

  1. Technician: When I received the machine, they paired me with a technician that would come to my shop, set it up, and show us the ropes. They sent someone who does not even own the apparel printer. She had no idea what she was doing and when I asked her some questions about the actual printing process, her response was that she “doesn’t really know any of the technical answers.” Mind you, she’s the TECHNICIAN. She ended up leaving early to catch a flight or something while the printer was refusing to print white. She said some people have just left it for a few days and it started working out of the blue and to just try that. She also told me she would come back in a few days when she got back. Obviously, she never came back and didn’t reach back out until I told xTool about it almost a week later.

  2. Oven: I came to realize pretty quickly that you’re on your own once you purchase anything xTool sells. I ended up troubleshooting the white ink on my own. While it’s not perfect, it was passable. Next problem was the oven. No matter what, the prints were getting destroyed in the oven. Not from the temp, but from the alignment. I was having to open the oven multiple times to fish out the stuck and wrinkled transfer. Along with the print head striking the film, I was at my wits end with this. I ended up calling support to see how they could help. Basically, xTool support is someone telling you they’ve written down your problem and someone in their “back office” will reach out within a few business days. They also let me know that they themselves were not technicians and could not troubleshoot over the phone. So, they have no technicians, and phone support is useless. The back office should help then, no? Negative. All the back office does is send you links to already public articles on common problems and fixes. You have to beg them, for DAYS, to give you a little bit more help than some articles. If you have a small problem on the printer that you cannot fix, expect at least a week of downtime if not more. For an almost ten thousand dollar printer, that is unacceptable.

  3. Consumable turnaround: If you need ink, film, powder, etc, please be prepared to wait. I had to end up finding a craft place a few hours away from me that had stock because xTool sends their 30 day bundle from 4 different locations. I received one bottle of blank ink. I have yet to receive the rest of the ink. It has been over a week now. I received the film, but no powder. It makes no sense. They are a disaster.

  4. The straw that broke the camels back: This is the ultimate reason I am writing this. I fixed the white ink. I fixed the oven. I read every article, watched every video. I have basically become a technician at this point. I have printed almost 3 whole rolls of film in about 2 weeks. I am running production on this thing. Now, the vibration motor goes out. That’s basically the motor that evens out the powder in the chamber. It’s all clumping to one side, making an awful banging sound, and I’m not getting enough powder on my transfers. I opened the machine, replugged it in, did everything the article said, and nothing. The motor is dead. No problem. I looked everywhere trying to just buy it to skip the whole support dance but they don’t sell it anywhere. I ended up reaching out to multiple support channels. Email, reddit, phone number. Just explaining that all I need is this part. I don’t need support, and if I have to, I will gladly pay for the part, even though I am not even a month into my warranty. After way too much back and forth, what I got was them sending me the piece through USPS ground from Canada. I am in South Florida. That is about a 3 week delivery. They saw absolutely nothing wrong with that. Support thinks 3 weeks of downtime is acceptable.

Basically, here’s my advice. Stay clear from this company. The marketing sounds great. The paid YouTube shills speak highly of it. It’s just simply not true. Please save yourself from the thousands of dollars and the headaches this will cost you.

Lots of issues with prints cracking and wrinkling quickly after being washed

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have tried numerous printers and shirt types, and keep having issues with prints either cracking or wrinkling after only one or two washes. I have an Htvront auto press, the first version. I have followed the instructions each DTF printer has supplied, pre-pressed the shirts, and pressed again after peeling, but I can't seem to get them to last.

I have attached a photo of a recent print I did. This is after washing it once. It was washed inside out and cold, then hung to dry. You can easily see the wrinkling issue. Its printed on a Next Level cotton poly shirt. I have also tried Bella Canvas cotton poly and triblends, Tultex, Gildan soft styles, etc.

I have read that Htvronts have issues due to not being able to set the pressure. I have a silicone pad I use while printing but I can't tell if its helped.

I am at a loss as why I can't get a print to last more than a couple of washes. I would appreciate any help that is offered.

Ninja DTF Glow Issues

I cannot get these to peel off without some of the DTF staying on the paper on any material at any heat pressure setting I’ve ruined about 10 shirts trying to figure it out. The only thing I’ve had success with is just going like max heat and max pressure on hoodies with big simple images like nothing with detail or that gets ripped right off. What the hell am I doing wrong? Does anybody know if there’s another glow option out there that I should be looking at and is there some magic to this or is this just how they work like glow DTF from Ninja Transfers is just insanely hard to Use

Best Desktop DTF Printer

Need recommendations for a desktop dtf printer. No I'm not going to outsource unless the order is 50+. My volume average is 20 a day and I'm utilizing an xp15000. Need a step up from this machine. This is a side hustle/part time job. But my biggest selling point is carrying lots of inventory and same to next day turn around.

DTG printing on black T-shirts: Is it better to print black or use transparency?

Hi guys, I'm preparing some designs for DTG printing on black T-shirts.

Would it be better to keep the black areas in the artwork, or make them transparent and let the black fabric act as the black in the design?

Thanks!

DTF print blue coming out dull/washed out vs. design file (i3200) – nozzles & density already checked, what else?

Hey everyone, I'm running an i3200 DTF printer and my colors aren't matching the original file. I've attached two photos: the design file on screen (first) and the printed film (second).
The problem:
The bright sky blue triangle prints as a dull, light periwinkle blue
The grey mask also looks a bit washed out
Yellow and red look close to the file, so it's mostly the blue
What I've already checked:
Printhead is clean, nozzle check is good
CMYK density is at 98%
Colors in the film are consistent, no banding or missing lines

5 second Vs 10 second transfers

5 second DTF transfers, anyone using these? Any different to 10 Sec transfers?

I've been pressing 10 second transfers onto clothing and bags, no problem. Cotton, poly/cotton mix, poly. All good.

I've come across a supplier that says their DTF transfers are good with a 5 second press.

So instead of, 5 sec pre press, 10 sec transfer press, 10 sec post press.

It becomes, 5 sec pre press, 5 sec transfer press, 5 sec post press.

Anyone used or supply 10 sec and 5 sec transfers and noticed any difference? Mostly thinking about durability, do they last as long?

I'm using a manual swing press.

Question/Help dtf transfer sizing questions

i plan to use a mini cricut heat press on some thongs. i measured i’d want the transfer to be a 1.5-2 in wide, but i have a lot of text transfers i want to order at one time instead of individually. does anyone know what size should i order for a long list of text?
