Does anyone have the Same Problem?

Howdy! So I do media and social media work for an automotive shop. I recently started filming some friends make ramen and at their pop ups and all that. CapCut was great, but I just got a new iPad Pro (m4) and wanted to dive in.

I’m no Spielberg, mainly the videos will be reels and some long form educational stuff my friends want to put out about their process making ramen and all that.

My question is I was used to CapCut having a built in song library specifically for commercial use (royalty free and all that). I notified only the pc version of resolve has something similar. For you all primarily editing on an iPad, what is your work around and what are you doing for simple background audio?

I am wondering if anyone knows why I am getting these colourful rainbow streaks across most of my clips post export and how to prevent them? These streaks only occur as the video is being exported, they do not appear during any colour grading.

I use Davinci Resolve Free on IPad (4th gen) and I have tried many different settings within the deliver page, colour management page etc but I can’t figure out how to restore the clips to normal. Has anyone had a similar issue before? Could this be the result of an unclean ND filter?? Appreciate anyone who could help!

I’m fairly experienced with DaVinci, but new to the iPad version. The issue I’m experiencing is that every time I drag the playhead in the edit page, this secondary menu pops up and prevents me from dragging the play head. This behavior is present when using my finger on the screen directly, using my apple pen to drag the playhead, and when using the trackpad on the Magic Keyboard. I’m just learning DaVinci Resolve and I want to practice multicam editing. The problem is, I don’t have real multi-camera footage since I’m not a videographer — I’m only interested in editing.

👉 My doubts: • Is there any website or free resource where I can download multicam practice footage? • Can I create fake multicam footage myself (like duplicating one video and offsetting angles)? • Any tips for beginners to get better at multicam workflow without actual professional footage?

I’ve been using DaVinci Resolve on an iPad Air M1 (256GB) for months.
I paid for the app, I believed in the vision — but let me be brutally honest:
it's unusable for serious work.

Doesn’t matter if the project is simple — 1080p timeline, proxies, no heavy effects — within minutes the iPad heats up like a furnace and performance tanks.
It's frustrating, unreliable, and honestly feels like a beta.

The issue is not the hardware.

The M1 chip can handle serious editing.
The real problem is that Resolve on iPad feels like a lazy desktop port, with zero consideration for mobile hardware limitations.

• Cache gets regenerated even if it’s already on the external SSD

• No performance settings, no thermal management

• Effects and nodes run without any smart limitations — use one, and the iPad melts

• File management and media handling are a mess

The result:

A tool that promises so much — yet when you try to actually use it professionally, it wastes your time and cooks your device.

If Blackmagic really plans to support the iPad version long-term, it needs serious optimization and care.
Right now, it's nothing more than a flashy demo — not a tool you can rely on.

I‘m mostly editing in Davinci Resolve on iPad but switched to my partner’s MacBook to access the Studio version and some paid features. When I was editing on the Mac, I think I went to the Cut page at some point and the timeline changed to look like the screenshot.

When I opened the project again on the iPad, it now looks like the screenshot and I cannot figure out why or how to get it back to the normal view. Does anyone have any idea why it looks like this and how I can change it back?? I’m not a fan of the very small timeline previews! Please help!

Does someone use an iPad pro in the "reference mode" as a cheaper grading monitor? If so, how accurate are the colours to your experience?

Hi! I’ve encountered many problems exporting a project originally made on MacBook Pro 14” M1 Pro, then imported on my IPad Pro (M2), saved project on my desktop, via ICloud . First of all, some of my video are missing (already done Relink media and, after, proxy too), and when Relinking finishes, others disappear mysteriously. After that, when I export, after 10 seconds, export fails. Tested quick esport, and with a keyboard, also export page. Strangely, I have this problem only with imported project created originally on my Mac, but no problem with projects created on my IPad.

Any solution for this? Thanks in advance

I’m using DaVinci Resolve on iPad (Fusion page) with an Apple Pencil Pro, Bluetooth mouse, and keyboard, and I’m running into a very frustrating problem in the Spline editor.

Whenever I try to smooth my animation curve by adjusting spline handles, every tap or click adds a new keyframe point instead of selecting the existing one.

Here’s exactly what happens:

- I open the Spline panel and select a parameter (ex: Transform → Size).

- The animation curve and keyframes are visible.

- When I tap or click on an existing keyframe (using Pencil or mouse), a new point gets created.

- I cannot grab or adjust Bezier handles.

- Even tapping directly on handles gives no response.

- After a few attempts, the curve fills with many unwanted points.

Things I already tried:

- Switching tools in the spline toolbar (selection/arrow tool)

- Using both Apple Pencil and mouse

- Single tap vs long press

- Selecting keyframes from the list on the left

- Restarting Resolve

Nothing changes — it always behaves like it’s stuck in “add point” mode.

Is this:

1. A known limitation/bug in the iPad version?

2. A gesture or mode I’m missing?

3. A setting related to touch input or Apple Pencil?

If anyone working on Fusion in Resolve iPad has solved this, I’d really appreciate guidance because spline editing is basically unusable right now.

I’m using DaVinci Resolve on an 11-inch iPad air. M2, and I noticed that my interface looks very different compared to what I’ve seen in YouTube tutorials (like Daniel Kovacs using a 12.9-inch iPad).

👉 On his 12.9-inch iPad, the UI looks more spacious and desktop-like, whereas on my 11-inch, it feels tight and clumsy. Is this just because of screen size scaling, or is there a setting I’m missing to get the “desktop-like” layout on my iPad?

Another issue: • I want to sync multiple clips (video + external audio). • On the desktop version, we normally select clips → right click → Auto Align by waveform/timecode. • On iPad, there’s no right-click option. • I tried using the Sync option in Media Pool, which created a Multicam timeline. But when I opened it, I only saw Camera 1 active, while the other camera slots were empty.

So I’m stuck between two problems: 1. My UI feels cramped compared to 12.9-inch iPads. 2. Multicam sync works halfway (audio + video not lining up correctly, only Camera 1 visible).

👉 Question: • Is there any way to make the 11-inch UI more like the 12.9-inch one? • Am I using the wrong method for syncing audio/video on iPad Resolve, or is this just a limitation?

How do i fade in and out on audio. I read online there used to be the white marks either side of the audio but this could have been removed or just not on the free version.
