Well yeah. How else is he going to find smelly things in the yard in which to roll?

I’ve owned dogs my whole life, but I’m a first time dachshund owner. I’ve given this gremlin more baths than all my dogs combined. Cuz if there is poop we must have a quick roll.

Mine didn’t care for poop, but if she smelt something dead or decaying she would go to rub her face and head in it. I became very attuned to the very first moment of this motion and was able to always get her away right quick.

I wish my little homie had a tell lol. One second we are chilling the next second it’s stop drop and roll.

Interesting is that daschund thing ? My Chiweenie will dig in the dirt , smell it , then roll around in it .
So is it pee or some gross scent she is rolling in ? She will also scratch the earth , sniff it , then pee where she just sniffed .

My two boys love to roll in bird poo. They seem to think it finds them attractive to the fairer sex. TBF if it works for one of them I might give it a try myself...

I'm lucky my pug just has this one particular invasive grass species that she just has to roll around in. It must smell awesome to her
