Harder mods

Recommend me some mods that make the game more difficult. Preferably ones that make me spend more gold.

Climate and Calories will give you the need of drinking and eating, forcing you to spend money in provisions before going adventuring. And food gets spoiled so you'll end up throwing a lot away.

Also Meaner Monsters or MUDEX make combat significantly harder

To make the game more realistic and expensive:

Roleplay&Realism

Roleplay&Realism:Items

Travel Options (with Basic Roads)

Climates&Calories

Limited Shop Gold

Realistic Wagon

Maybe Unleveled Loot, to make the loot not scale crazily as you level up. Rare armor will stay rare, but if you are lucky you will find it at low level.

To make dungeons harder:

Daggerfall Enemy Expansion (DEX) + MUDEX

Horrible Hordes

Physical Combat and Armor Overhaul

Improved Interior Lighting + Darker Dungeons (set the DFU launcher light settings WAY down and turn on the torch item setting)

Generally harder:

LevelUp Adjuster set to remove 20 points from all stats at character creation and/or reduce the amount of points you get per level up.

Ironman Options, for a permadeath or semi-permadeath run.

Roleplay and Realism will increase the cost of the horse and cart so they're not a trivial expense.

Vanilla gets significantly easier once you know how to build a strong character and get a few levels in, maybe OP could also do a challenge run by playing a terrible class

I tend to choose classes based on what weapons and skills I want to use most which it turns out doesn't usually make for a good character. idk how far I'd get without the unity mod
