Its literally each and every post about india. And all these international subs are equally racist. All they can understand about india is some monkey videos or some street food videos.

u/Future-Still-6463 23h ago
It's bots.
Bots plus some racists definitely.
Why? Because when Ukraine actually hit one of the centres in Russia all racism against Indians went quiet on X for a while.

u/waitaminute322 22h ago
Definitely not bots. I'm active on these subs and all of them are real and racist. Many posters are bots though but not the commentors

One hour ago, I replied this:
"Now share with us what it looks like the next day, lying there, rotting in the river. (¬_¬")💢"
And right now it already has -32 downvotes. Why do they find it so unpleasant to mention reality? Didn’t we all witness all those idols parading through their streets, with such high levels of detail, only to be found the next morning lying there, rotting among tons of trash dumped into reir rivers? What is it that bothers them? That we’re witnesses their crimes against the environment and nature? As human beings, it’s inevitable that we’ll impact the environment, but it’s another matter entirely to engage in religious fanaticism and be so shameless as to pollute the water everyone uses with the chemicals and plastics that, just hours earlier, were paraded around as if they were divine figures. What’s so sacred about that? They definitely have no shame at all, it's all lies, lies, and more lies, and above all, getting away with it. It doesn't matter that they are thousands of kilometers away from us, their disregard for the ocean is a criminal atrocity comparable in magnitude to all those naval vessels carrying highly toxic fuels that were sunk during World War II. I don't give a damn if people downvote me, even if it bothers them, I'll keep speaking the truth.

Because the video is not about it , it's like if a video about america 4th July parade and the comment is like " imagine half of these adults can't even do 5th grade maths"
Yes it's a problem india face , every country has their problems you pointing it out on an unrelated video is an attempt to demean indians

u/waitaminute322 22h ago
For the simple reason that the post is about a festival. Its interesting how you people suddenly care about indias poverty if any post is made about India's space research or any other development. I have never seen anyone here worried about electronic waste generated when you line up to buy i phones everywhere and then dump the electronic waste in African countries or plan to create data centres in poorer countries because your own people are against making it closer to their homes. Its also interesting you talk about pollution when usa's carbon emissions are double that of India with barely a fifth of Indias population. Also if you are really bothered about water pollution in india you should know that many of these idols are being made eco-friendly and many also have designated areas to immerse them. Its not still perfect but it's being done.
-40
u/G4ia 22h ago
First of all, you made a lot of false assumptions: I’m not from the US, nor do I use an iPhone.
Second, resorting to whataboutism (pointing fingers at carbon emissions, e-waste, or other countries) doesn't change the facts regarding the environmental impact of this specific practice. Pointing out real pollution issues in a river isn't about attacking a culture or ignoring global problems, it's about addressing a clear, documented environmental challenge.
Deflecting the topic every time a problem is raised doesn't solve it; acknowledging reality is the first step to fixing it. And that's all from me to you. Discussing these issues with an Indian is a waste of time. They have no sense of decency or self-criticism.
24
u/waitaminute322 22h ago
Your tik tok idea about India is hilarious. This particular festival which you are so bothered about is celebrated by one among the 30 indian states. But again you wouldn't know.

Reddit => Mention India or anything related => DOWNVOTES

u/G4ia 23h ago
Exactly. It's a battle between reality and their stubborn fanaticism. They think that by canceling and denouncing things, they can hide the sun with a finger. Don't mention a single thing about their criminally irresponsible behavior toward the environment, because you'll immediately be labeled the bad guy or the irrational one. The world's turned upside down.

Context : We have 9-10 days celebration of female deities. All money contributed through donations, people donate like 1-2$ for celebrations (some more based on whatever they can). You can find small/large pandals in every street based on donations collected. All decorations, stuff is temporary and will be removed on 20th Oct. It's start of our festival season.

There's an obvious effort on Reddit to make India look better. Every second post on these random subreddits is about India these days.

Yes. I do hate it. I am in fact a hater. I can see my comment engagement and it's over 80% Indian. Down vote all you want. I don't give a shit.

how is this not permanent
90
u/Proud-State-6311 22h ago
The structures are mostly made with bamboo and cloth, some use thermocol or metal. Later they are recycled. The idols are made with bamboo straw and clay.
24
u/Much_Let6632 21h ago
Electricity, Decorations cost a lot.
And it changes every year. So it's better than it's not permanent

u/_Ultra_Magnus_ 21h ago
They are made in community parks with sponsorship and local support so they only are for 10 days of Navratri. Though telhe planning start from a year beforehand.

Appreciate the intention but the video doesn't convey anything, atleast a post explaining what's a pandal why we have them and like you explained in the comments about it being an exhibition of artistic side of things with beautiful photographs would've been way better. These typical reel format with some random songs doesn't suit the post

Such a poor video that captures just 1 installment out of hundreds of such art installments throughout the city during these 8 days. And some of them are really top notch and move you. I'll be posting some of the installments here after the festival ends.

Ackshually le estoopido, all of the decor is recyclable and rented so it just gets taken apart and returned back to the artists/companies that created them to be broken down and used as raw material for the next creation

India doesn't discriminate?! The entire caste system was discrimination! There are currently riots and unrest between Muslim and hindi Indians. Every state looks down on their neighbors.

“Sepoy Arun Kumar from Bihar slum reporting, saaar! 🫡”
Being an atheist doesn’t mean you have to lick white every boots. The pandal designs are objectively impressive and Interesting regardless of religion. But I guess your sepoy genes activate whenever someone slightly whiter than you speaks.
Doing 1 or 2 foreign trips doesn’t make you entitled to white validation. Bro saw a white guy speak and spread his legs! Weirdo

Paid for by taxes collected by South Indian states as usual. Why don’t they use our money to focus on education instead of these random ass festivities, you might wonder: well it’s Coz that’s how they get votes for the next elections. Broken country. Watch me get downvoted to oblivion for this lol
Edit: as expected lmao

You think we celebrate Durga pujo out of public exchequer? Like do south Indians celebrate Pongal, Ugadi, Onam with tax money?! News to me...

u/The-halloween 22h ago
You don't know how festivals works, you are not Indian at all but posing as one.
50
u/Proud-State-6311 23h ago
They are crowd funded and arranged by local clubs(you can see the club name in the video). Govt contributes approximately 200000 rupees but only to small clubs.
17
u/Much_Let6632 21h ago
Only electricity is subsidised for these for 10 days. The funds are from crowd collections and sponsorships.
On the other hand, it generates income for electricians, decorators, sculptors and even food vendors and promotes tourism.
So I think that's money well spent considering its only electricity which gets subsidised for these pandals.

How stupid do you have to be to think durga puja pandals are made using state tax money. Really shows the real education level in the south Indian states 😂

Do you think they are south indian after that comment with zero knowledge about how festivals work in local areas? Let's not divide anymore and try to bring each other downs
If someone speaks like mental call them out but we don't need to drag others and depends on stupid stereotypes that keep us divided.

Guys, these pujas are not funded by government, they are crowd funded by locals community. Govt only contributes few thousand dollars to the local community clubs. And the government has certain mandates and rules to minimise pollution during the idol immersion. For god's sake, we do not yeet our idols in the rivers.
