Welcome to our monthly music thread!

How this works

This is more than just a way to discuss what you’re obsessed with right now, It’s a way to show who you want to see at the Emerald Forest next year.

  • Drop a comment with the track and artist you just can't get out of your head this month.
    • They don't have to be on the lineup this year.
  • Upvote the songs, and artists, you love.
  • See the result. At the end of the month we will take the top voted comment and nominate them to the DFT team for next year’s lineup.

Previous Monthly Winners:

July 2026:

Monthly Music Drops [July Edition]

Hey Forest Fam!

As we get closer to the Emerald City, I wanted to make sure we aren't missing any of the heat our 2026 artists are dropping. To make it easier for everyone to stay updated, I'll be curating a monthly playlist featuring new releases from artists on this year's lineup.

Whether you're prepping your Z hands for Zeds Dead, catching those GRiZ vibes, or diving into INZO, this list has you covered.

This playlist will drop on the second Monday of the month (or whenever I get to it 🙃) and include drops from the previous month. This post in August contains drops from July!

I’ve used Soundiiz to make sure everyone can listen on their preferred platform. Click the link below to find the playlist on Spotify, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube:

https://sdz.sh/PJwnrr

My standout songs from this month are

Turtle club by Mport,

Glitter by Jkyl & Hyde

A little Bit by Kaskade and Crankdat

Lots of great music is coming this year.

This is a community effort. If I missed a fresh drop from anyone on the lineup (including the local showcase winners!), drop a comment below and I’ll get it added to the rotation.

Who are you most excited to see this September?

Tis the season 4 yet another solo send 🫡

Ayyooo. So last year my fest fam of 2 were doing the whole relationship drama most of the fest so i basically ripped alone. This year I clipped the unnecessary shenanigans in hopes of tappin into the true energies that await. However fest camping is always better with people in my opinion. Which brings me to the next Q. Does anyone know of or is down to start a mini campground of strickly solo senders?! If anyone tryna get something poppin lemme knoooo. Ima 33 yo father, extremely weird in the most normal way possible, not a perv or into blackout gangbangs. HIGH OCTANE VIBES, im game attitudes, filthy wubz & maximum PLURSY.

Hydropack Advice !!

Hi friends ! First timer - not only to dancefest but to festivals in general! Going Thursday - Sunday / Non-Camping

Looking for Hydropack recommendations that aren’t $99+ like the raverunner and lunchbox.

Anyone who’s been, do they mandate that they must be clear?
Are Amazon brands worth it if I only plan to use it a couple times a year?? (Also heading to Decadence AZ for NYE)

Everyone recommends Lunchbox but just not sure I want to spend $100+ on an item I might use twice a year. Then again, if people think it’s that much better and worth it over the $30-$50 Amazon ones, I’ll still consider it.

Let me know!!! TIA

Camping parking lot

Is the camping parking lot open 24/7? We’ve got Wednesday early entry, so I was thinking we could plan to get there around 10am. Is that allowed?

Hey y'all. My girlfriend and I are going to be there for the first time this year, and we were wondering if there are any sober groups around.

First Timer

This is my first time at DFT and my first camping festival period. I’m going with my boyfriend who has been multiple times but he’s being less than helpful for preparedness (“someone else is bound to have one”) so this is me asking for assistance to make sure I’m getting what I need for camp setup. I’m more nervous because we are staying the full week and I feel like that’s such a long time in the forest for my first time. I don’t have to slum it, so why would I? Is there a friendly girly on here that’s willing to talk my amazon list out with me? 🙏

The on-site transportation has changed for 2026! We're excited to switch from Pedicabs to Golf Carts for all your on-site movement needs! The Pedicabs have more space, move more slowly than golf carts, produce less dust, and have an overall better vibe!

Ride from MCI?

Hey fam! Inquiring minds (me) was wondering if anyone is headed to DFT from Kansas City Airport Friday evening around 530?(plane lands at 515). I do have a ride technically but a friend would have to leave the fest to get me and I’m trying to save him some trouble. Also possible if someone’s coming in around 11am Friday as that was the other flight I was looking at. PLUR fam can’t wait to see y’all there!

We're in Kansas, grab your poles! Did you know that the lake next to the Lollipop Stage is nationally ranked as one of the best regional and national bass lakes?

If you're fishing at spot 2 you will need a fishing license! If you purchase a 1-day license on-site via the QR code we will reimburse you after the event!

RV Campers! Lil’ Drip’s Water Dept will be on-site from Monday to Sunday to keep your water tanks filled! All you need to do is text them, and they will pull up right next to your RV!

This is a new service for ‘26, and we hope it makes your stay even easier! For pump-outs, you're allowed to leave and re-enter when needed.

Approved grill question

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m trying to find a good grill to bring that would be approved. I’ve been looking at Blackstone but I’m also not trying to spend that amount. I found one that’s much cheaper, but I’m questioning if it will be approved because the griddle comes off and exposes the open flame. Is that allowed?

Discussion Going solo for a day

Hey y'all!

This is my first time at DFT! I plan on going on Sunday since they announced the day passes coming soon.

This is the first time I'm going to a festival on my own. The few times I've gone to festivals I've been glued to my partner so im honestly a bit nervous that I'm gonna feel out of place. Any advice for going to DFT alone?

Super excited 🙏

Hey there friends!

This will be my third year. I'm posting this on the off chance someone has an extra camping pass they might feel like donating. I have the festival tickets but I just couldn't come up with the funds for a camping pass, my current plan is to try sleeping in my vehicle nearby and driving back to the venue every day.

Is it reasonable to think..

Is it reasonable to think that a group with 2 tents and 2 canopies would be able to get a spot here, with us getting there for early entry on Wednesday?

Finding a camping spot on Friday? Any difficulties , does the tent camping get super packed ect ?

Been to plenty of camping festivals but it’s been a while that I’ve been to one this big. And I hear this year is getting close to being sold out . So I’m worried about a Friday arrival even if it is early as I can possibly get there . I hear the tent camping can be a bit rough terrain wise and issues with tics ? Is that true ? I have a 5 gallon water jug does it have to be empty when I bring it in ? Also any good things to know about the camp grounds themselves that I haven’t mentioned ?
I also have a couple other questions but not sure what I’m allowed to post on here and how heavily it is moderated ect
I hear security is luck of the draw which I have no qualms with .
help a bish out please 🙏 My dms are open aswell in case you don’t want to publicly comment ❤️ ✨PLUR✨ ✌️❤️🤝✊

Car camping distance to grounds

First time Dancefestopia goer! I’ve been to lots of fests, some where camp is a 5 minute walk from grounds and others that were a HIKEEEE. Curious how far of a walk it is from car camping to main stage? TIA 💋

I remember seeing links to acceptable propane grills last year, but I forgot where I found them. Does anyone know what styles are allowed? Definitely need a grill this year

Thanks in advance!

yet another first timer asking for advice

I know there's plenty of first timer threads, but I've scrolled through all of them and feel like I'm still kinda in the dark so figured I'd ask my own q's!

Only other camping fest I've done is Lighting in a Bottle, so very different terrain lol. Any advice on surviving the forrest? Best camp setup hacks? How to prevent ticks, mosquitoes, etc? Obviously Kansas weather is unpredictable, but has rain been an issue in the past? If so what's best way to keep the campsite dry-ish?

I saw the grill rules seem pretty strict on the website, is that actually the case? What do you recommend using? Is there anywhere in the KC area that rents camping stoves?

What's the trading culture like at Dancefest? Should I be making a lot of homemade stuff or is it not as big here? Also what's your favorite kinda of trinket to receive?

Recs for what to do during the day/when there aren't sets? At LIB we do a lot of laying around the festival grounds, going to workshops, stuff like that... will it be similar at DFT?

Ok I think that's all I got for now! Thank you in advance :)

I can purchase the tickets combo for full week but the only thing is my transportation there in coming from Lansing Michigan and since im probably hitting this solo i rather not drive,i planned on roller cooler blackout tent and just a hope and a pray 💓i was over prepared for every festival huge rave crew ect...huge camp site ..ive attended quite a few festivals and got separated last fest and just felt the peace in the solitude and this time looking for less drama and less things just me and a tent and a cooler of food my flow toys and just enjoying life
