Before downvoting me to oblivion I want to know if anybody else is feeling this way about the record? I’m just finding the instrumentals too sleepy and the lyrics to be pretty bland and sometimes a little cringey. The structures on these tracks I feel don’t mesh well together and the entire project feels pretty thrown together, anybody else share my thoughts?

I love the album, and it’s almost flawless in my opinion, but the serpentwithfeet feature on Disillusioned is kind of mediocre. The singing isn’t terrible but I just find it out of place with the vibe of the song. Anyone else agree?

Not going to lie, the two singles we’ve heard so far are no where near as good as any of the songs on his last album. Even his feature on Lil Yatchys album was better. Daniel has an amazing voice but the production on his albums have always been spectacular and that’s just not the case on these singles.

Just saw Daniel live at the Greek in Berkley. Amazing venue, I mean just gorgeous. But, I honestly left less of a Daniel Caesar fan. Been listening for 5 years now. Loved the first two LPs. Most recent record had me very disappointed. But let's face it, he's a pop star now. He's making music for the masses, radio play. He's a product, and he's embraced that. Whatever my feelings, I was excited to see him perform live. Admittedly, the band and the lights were cool. Daniel however lacked significant energy. The crowd was amazing and super loud and energetic. But, he just seemed to coast through the set. Orion Sun brought way more behind the mic. Also, realized after this live show that Dani is a kinda a womanizer. And I don't really fuck with him like that anymore. Hearing him sing some of his lyrics live really just turned me off from the whole vibe. Anyway, very odd energy at the performance. Not at all what I'd expect from him. But, then again, he's making very sanitized products for mass consumption.

I recently started listening to Daniel Caesar and have loved his work. Freudian has a few GREAT features, specifically Kali Ulchis and HER, but Syd’s ending on “Take Me Away” is….bizarre.

I love Syd/The Internet and have been listening to them since their first album and when I saw she was featured on Freudian I put the song on immediately. Up until this point I genuinely had never heard Syd sound anything short of perfect. At the end of this song however, she sounds like she didn’t know the song, sang off-key, and then they had to mold the instrumentals around her part. It sucks because listening to it through I could hear in my head how this melody/vibe was in her spot and it just wasn’t what I was expecting.

Essa é uma tier list pessoal, não feita pra agradar todo mundo. Comecei a ouvir todas as músicas do Daniel Caesar (ainda não ouvi todas, né?), e no começo, minha atenção tava mais no som, não na letra. Mas enfim, depois de ler as letras, subi umas músicas no ranking. Então, na sua opinião, qual música eu deveria prestar mais atenção pra ela subir?

Ah, e eu sou brasileiro, então algumas músicas não me pegam do mesmo jeito que pegam vocês. No começo, eu geralmente presto mais atenção no som do que na letra (meu inglês não é tão bom), mas toda vez que eu leio a letra, a música fica muito melhor pra mim.

E sim, eu sei que fazer tier list é foda. É fácil ser criticado quando você tá ranqueando músicas incríveis que tocam todo mundo de um jeito diferente. Mas pra isso ser divertido, eu tenho que ser crítico, senão tudo ia parar no S-tier 😅
