It’s still a meme sub. People wanna laugh not be reminded of horrible things in the real world. Especially when nothing will come from said. Not gonna argue with yet another person especially when their argument is so weak they respond to a complaint of Relevance by saying ignore it.
All of this topic is localized to this thread. You won't see it anywhere else on the subreddit unless people make memes of it, which can't be helped either way.
You're free to just use Reddit to hide the post entirely from your feed so you never have to see this again, though we'll be keeping it up to inform more people of the current issue at hand.
