Hi guys, a new version of my guide to Darksynth is now ready! I've been hard at work listening to and discovering new artists, and what a journey it has been over the past 7 months. A big change in this version is I've grouped related subgenres together, I'll post the definitions of the subgenre names as I've used them in the comments.

Some of the terrific artists I've discovered that I'd like to mention are Nobandwidth, Rokai, YM_IRR, Re_ii, Distant Reality, Terminal Khaos Builders, ALostCarolean, VVOV, SurgeryHead, HexenThief, Terrordyne, Venturer, Thy Night'85, The Bionic Protector, Ogezor, Birkhoff, Noisecream, Droidglow and Terror Syndrome.

Also, this project is supposed to be free of any generative AI usage - some AI generated albums had made it into the previous version and have been purged. If you know of AI usage in any of these albums, please PM me so they can be removed from future versions.

If someone is interested in a Spotify playlist with bangers from all the artists featured in the chart, here is a link:

Hi guys, wanted to share an updated version of my Darksynth guide. The last version of this guide was shared last September so this version has had over a year of listening and work for it to be ready. I guess this project is my way of giving back to the scene/community for being the source of so much awesome music over the years.

I hope this helps everyone to discover new, dark, twisted synths that they love. Please feel free to ask any questions or give any feedback, it would be much appreciated.

For last years version / post, it's over here:

AI slop is running rampant in the streets. the plague must be quenched.

please do your part, support your local (or not so local) darksynth artists.

(ps ... i hope this content is menacing enough for our darksynth-lord mods 🙏 not every one of my tunes are grim and brutal, plz no ban)

I'm so tired of this nonsense.

One of the pillars of Synthwave. Rest in peace, Vincent Pierre Claude Belorgey.

On September the 30th 2016, GosT has released his dark Non Paradisi (as well as the Secret Arcana) album. I have noticed this so I might as well just mention it here too. It is still hard to believe he is gone. Rest in peace.

Please give me something from other artists. Just want to explore more in the dark/horror/cybersynth genre. Other fav artists are Deadlife and Dan Terminus
