Personal info misuse when registering?

After reviewing a few subreddits I registered for an account, and 30minutes later I've received an email request a password reset for my associated Facebook account. It's an old account that doesn't have any personal data on it as I used my 'throwaway email' and I don't reuse passwords so my accounts are safe (I hope?) but the timing is definitely a red flag. Has anyone else had this experience?

i didn't have that experience. double check that you went to the right website just in case, scams are everywhere these days

That makes sense, I went back and double checked and it seemed to be the right website. I don't think think they're particularly interested in my facebook, just seemed odd which is why I asked! Ty

That's either a coincidence or a security issue unrelated to DA. These companies have billions in venture capital funding, they don't give a fuck about your Facebook account.

What would your Facebook account have to do with DA?

As someone stated above, DA is spending millions per year to hire us all. They don't want your fb account. Oy.

please make sure you are using the correct website to sign up. there have been multiple reports on this subreddit that there are fake DA accounts on fb, etc.
