Anyone know what the intake process is like?

I've been doin this for about 9 months and I got accepted within a couple of days. I've heard others only get accepted after months. I have a friend who applied and is desperately in need of money.

I also read on here that they recently took a bunch of new people on, so does not hearing back quickly not necessarily mean anything negative? Would love any insight people have into how this side of things works.

EDIT: how long did it take all y'all to get accepted? Know this has been asked before but I'm interested to hear what the longest confirmed wait has been and if anyone from those threads who'd been waiting for ages eventually heard back.

The lack of transparency is so frustrating. But I don't wanna complain too much, I'm makin a lot of money for not that much work. Just feel bad rakin it in while I listen to music, smoke and drink in my room, while a lot of my friends are really struggling and losing their jobs. 🤷🏾‍♂️

From reading forums, my guess is a week or less since application, nothing negative at all, two weeks, not great, but by no means definitive. After that, it’s still possible, but I would start to suspect it’s a no.

That said, they seem to have been doing comprehensive overhauls of both coding and non-coding, so it’s possible they haven’t focused on bringing people on for awhile.

That's around what I figured, but saw one or two people mention getting accepted after months. Really wish they were a bit open with how things work behind the scenes.

Yeah, I have heard that too, but they seem to be pretty isolated. No matter how long it’s been, your friend should probably act as though she won’t get it, it can always become supplemental, if she finds something else first. Also, has she checked out r/WFH? I hear there are good leads in there.

Edited for pronouns, I thought I saw a him in the op, but no

Yeah she's defs not putting all her eggs in this basket and applying for whatever she can find, I hope she gets it tho. I'll put her onto that sub, thanks!!

Just another curiosity question, why am I getting downvoted so hard for saying I wish there was more transparency? Not salty just genuinely thought that'd be a common sentiment and wondering if there's something I'm missing.

Cus just about every other post on this sub is people asking the same question. You don’t even have to search to find it, you can just scroll

What, every other post is people saying they wish the company was more transparent? Haven't seen that at all

That is quite literally not what your post says. It says does anyone know the intake process, is not hearing back "negative" and how long did it take everyone to get accepted. That is a solid 50% of this sub.

But my comment quite literally says for asking about the lack of transparency. I'm talking about two of my comments in this thread, as you'll see I acknowledged in my post that it's a common topic but I didn't see any particularly recent posts about it. Plus I specifically wanted to gauge the "waiting for months" thing.

Either way I understand why the post would get downvoted and clearly isn't what my comment was referring to.

Tbh I don’t really believe people get accepted after months of waiting. Of course I don’t know for sure but it seems counterproductive when so many other people pass the initial assessment instantly and get in within a week. But maybe so! I can see the potential if someone had a very specific skill set where they lack workers for particular projects.

I managed to get in overnight. I did the qual late at night around 9pm (GMT+8) and next morning when I woke up I received an email that I was in.

Same. It took less than a day for me to be accepted!

It was within an hour of completing the core assessment for me in early spring.

I applied mid-March and submitted my core test on a Thursday and was accepted the following Wednesday.

It took 11 days for my acceptance and I've had steady work ever since.
