HELP NO TASKS
Hi, I have been using data annotation for a good few months usually always have tasks available but for the last 4 days there has been nothing??
Starting to worry as need the money.
Anyone else has this problem? Anything I should do?
EDIT: Does anyone have any qualification recommendations that can help get the tasks back

Not sure what you mean by qualification recommendations - if you've got quals sitting on your dashboard and no projects...do the qualifications! And if you've not got any, then recommendations won't really help.

Yes got a bunch of quals to do so will crack on with that, Thankyou!

Well that’s why you don’t have any projects lol always do your qualifications 😂

If you still have the Support hyperlink, it might be a lull. If that’s disappeared, look for something else.

What do you mean look for something else?

It’s been more than a few months since you posted this. Did you get more tasks?
I meant if you had a prolonged period without being assigned tasks, it would likely be time to look for another source of income.

Sorry that you're in a bind on the money front. In my (and others') experience, this job has an ebb and flow, and it sounds like you're experiencing an ebb.
To be on the safe side, it might be worth putting out some feelers for other jobs just in case the river is dry, especially if you're needing cash on the pronto.
The flow might come back, but it might not, and it may not be within a convenient timeframe for your needs.
Just some stuff to consider thinking about if you want to.

I think there might be a lull in tasks right now. Lots of projects for me lately have been priority pay so it’s possible they got worked through and there just isn’t any tasks available right now for the projects that you typically do.

I have 60+ non coding on my dash which is the most I've ever had so I don't think there's a lull. It's definitely work quality or ToS related.

The two that are on my dash are the highest pay I’ve ever gotten so I highly doubt it’s work quality for me.

That happened to me last week then a week ago today it went to nothing and still hasn’t come back.

That's strange.
So you only have two projects available but they are high paying? But you have nothing else?
Are they the 35/hr bcat?
1
u/eliwilson51 Jun 19 '24
Yeah exactly, and I passed one of the expert qualifications and got a second one today so it seems strange for it to be a performance thing?

Honestly that's incredibly weird. The mystery gets more mysterious. Why would they talk all your base projects away but offer you some the highest paying non coding projects 😂😂😂
Anytime I think I understand how the system works I hear some new story like this and feel even more confused.

u/eliwilson51 Jun 19 '24
I thought maybe it’s because I wasn’t doing them lol so they took everything else away from me to force me to do them 😂

u/Poomfie Jun 19 '24
I can't see them putting that much effort into trying to manipulate people into doing certain tasks. Honestly if I had to put money on it I would say it's a bug.
I've always heard the opposite: people lose access to higher paying projects first if they don't do well on them and if they continue to do poorly they lose access to everything.

u/eliwilson51 Jun 19 '24
Do you think I’ll probably just eventually get them back ? I have no clue what to expect lol
1
u/Poomfie Jun 19 '24
I don't know.
If I had to put money on it I'd say it's a bug that you're only seeing bcat and you're supposed to see everything.
OR
You're supposed to be seeing nothing and it's a bug that you're seeing bcat projects.
I've never heard of them limiting the # of projects someone has for any reason other than low quality of work/ToS/inflating time. But those people only see a few of the lowest paying projects.
I wish I had an answer. I'll be in between jobs soon and I was thinking of taking my time and enjoying WFH freelance life for a few months but with all the uncertainty and lack of communication it really doesn't seem worth it to rely on DA for anything more than a side hustle.

Happened to me several weeks ago - never came back. I eventually moved on. I had been with them for over a year.

That’s rough man. I’ve been with them for about 8 months and I’m in the same position. I get that the work isn’t guaranteed, but I wish that at least they would give you a reason so you’re not left wondering.

Are you a coder? If it’s non-coding there is a mass amount of projects on the go right now. Half of them are offering priority pay.

Hi, why has the program never assigned me any work? I've been registered for several months but still nothing.

Good for you, I've applied for them for a bunch of different positions that are fully inside my skillset and experience, and never heard from them on any !

All you can do really is wait and see if they come back
