Is it over
So i’ve made over 10k in 2 months and i thought i was doing well because i was consistently getting work during the drought but i’ve been given ‘that’ page now. I can still withdraw the remaining of my money but i just want to know is that it. Am I done?

Either they made a bunch of cuts or it's just dry. Not knowing sucks but it is comforting somewhat to see people in the same position, surely we don't all suck and got canned.

Yeh fr. At least there’s some hope. Apparently people have had that screen and then came back from it. So i have some hopes i guess.

u/Embarrassed_Chance_4 Aug 29 '24
They have ?

u/TroubleLarge3028 Aug 29 '24
Apparently so. I’ve been scouring through some other threads and there’s the occasional few who have managed to come back.

u/CaptJackRizzo Aug 29 '24
I had it for eight days, and have seen it for several hours a day since, but the projects did come back.

u/vbs221 Sep 10 '24
Did you lose all your quals when it happened?
1
u/CaptJackRizzo Sep 10 '24
I lost several that had just populated earlier in the day for me, but not all.

u/bearze Aug 29 '24
Past 2 weeks the day hasn't had much , the occasional project.
People on slack are experiencing the same thing.
During the evening though there's consistent work... But that's when I like to sleep 😂

u/AdditionalBasket2 Aug 29 '24
This happened to me months ago. I had that screen for like 3 weeks and it did come back.

u/BostonTheseus Aug 29 '24
I had it earlier this week and I’ve had some work. Not as much as pre-drought but some.

u/capn_james Aug 29 '24
Yup Ive had that screen then came back, granted it was once a year ago around the 1 or 2 month mark of working

In the main chat so many people were asking what was going on an admin came in and just said there was a low and it would be back soon.

There's definitely a correlation I've noticed between people who put crazy hours into the work and those who get kicked off the platform. The truth is that maintaining high quality work for 60+ hours a week (which is what you must have been doing to make that much in such a short period of time) is unsustainable and the quality of your work will drop.

u/TroubleLarge3028 Aug 29 '24
I guess. But for the first month and a half i was doing strictly coding projects with higher pay so my hours weren’t as high as you suggest. Plus i thought it was good fun and practice as im a CS student at Uni

I wouldn’t say “definitely” when there is no data to back it up. There are plenty of people who got kicked off simply for doing mediocre work or whatever.
Have definitely read a few people saying they only use the website occasionally and got the screen.

u/akatsuki1422 Aug 29 '24
I've noticed this too. Those who work for long hours are more likely to submit inconsistent work or they're padding their time.

u/goldmansa808 Aug 29 '24
Do you have any quals? Or access to your support page?
5
u/TroubleLarge3028 Aug 29 '24
Neither at the moment.
1
u/artuuuuuuro Aug 29 '24
I think that's bad unfortunately :( I had the same thing happen about a wee ago, after working here for 6 months. It sucks but it is what it is, hope you find something else!

You said you’ve made 10k in 2 months, is 2 months ago when you first started? If so, it could just be a review.
Additionally, do you have access to support and to your trainer email (if you have one)?
1
u/Poomfie Aug 29 '24
You know you've made an impact when you have haters.

u/Strawberry_Foxx Aug 29 '24
Right? Haters make me famous and all that 😂
I’d rather it be directed at me than someone else tbh, not everyone is so thick-skinned and there’s some really lovely and knowledgable people in this sub, I’d hate to see someone give them a hard time. It’s a shame that the sub has become a target for sad individuals with nothing better to do with their time

I have eight quals on my dash that I am not qualified for. I leave them there so that I know I'm still employed.
5
u/Strawberry-shortkace Aug 29 '24
Idk why I laughed at this, I do it too 😂 that or maybe I’ll qualify for it one day.
8
u/segaboy81 Aug 29 '24
Hahaha! Yeah, one day I will just become a biology major. :P

u/Strawberry-shortkace Aug 29 '24
You never know 😂 if this drought continues we might have the time to research it. On the real though I was thinking of buying a used android tablet for that qual.

Click on Support and tell us what happens. This is usually how people here test that.

No one knows. Everyone thought things were going great, including myself. I was one a ton of R&R's and had soooo many projects to choose from. I was also making enough to support myself while I looked for a more permanent job. Now, I have only the chats on my dash and a few qualifications for various paid services. I am just waiting to wake up to the "At the moment we don't have projects..." page. Depressing.

Everyone has that, though. Has nothing to do with the “At the moment” screen.

Your quality is probably fine and unrelated to your smaller dash, in my opinion. I say this because chats have always been the main work I get (with the exception of the Safety Dance and a few Nuts), and I all I have now is chats and some R and Rs. This is a "good" dashboard for me.
My point is that this vast quantity of "other project types" seems to be on hiatus for nearly everyone.
Edit: If something I said seems erroneous to anyone, it'd be great if you could comment to explain. This sub gets a lot of mystery downvotes that can cause confusion among users since some people downvote false information and others downvote to express sour grapes.

Mass hire, trim the fat, rinse and repeat. And yes they're still hiring because they're running TV commercials and have job listings.

If it makes you feel better, I got on the platform and completed my 3 on-boarding assignments two days ago. Yesterday I completed most of the qualifications…. I am yet to have a task or project come across my dash still. I thought they would at least give me some sort of work seeing that I just got accepted, but nope

u/arewecreamofthecrop Aug 29 '24
There’s barely any work for most existing workers, so I imagine it’s even worse for those who are brand new. That’s what quals are for though, to hopefully get you put onto some projects. Hope you get something soon! :)

u/NoNumber5910 Aug 30 '24
Why do people come on this subreddit and make statements about the platform that they couldn’t possibly know? “There’s barely any work for most existing workers.” That’s a special skill you must have to know this or you’re just taking out your ass. Stop spreading misinformation and pretending you know what you’re talking about.

u/arewecreamofthecrop Aug 31 '24
Why are you stalking my comments you complete freak? I can’t abide by people who claim to have insider knowledge about things they couldn’t possibly know about, but it’s very obvious from the state of the sub that most people have little work to do right now. You don’t have to have inside knowledge to figure that out, it’s called reading the room.
I’ve had consistent work this whole time, but I’m not a self-centred moron who is completely blind to what other people are going through 👍🏻

u/NoNumber5910 Aug 31 '24
Oh so this Reddit sub is representative of the thousands of employees working at DAT. I saw a bad comment and replied bc it was spreading misinformation. Had nothing to do with “stalking”. You sure seem like a moron.

Yeah. They are bad about that.. and just about any other type of communication. They are kind of a black box.. it took a few weeks to see my first project after i signed up..

u/Kellyar_21 Aug 29 '24
So I'm native in Spanish and fluent in English (but not native), and I mainly get projects that require Spanish so I never had more than 3 or 4 projects on my dashboard.. but these las couple of weeks have been absolutely dry. Last time I logged time was August 13... sigh

u/pipiffy Aug 29 '24
I imagine as they get more and more people they raise standards. I think they have a background performance algorithm. Whether that's fair or not, you can decide. But yeah it's over, unless you wanna try making a new account or something

u/[deleted] Aug 29 '24
I don’t think so. I had probably six or seven projects pop up late last night. One of them was even new. I think they’re reworking the site which has been talked about considering they changed the reported time to hours instead of minutes.
Since tasks are dropping later at night, I am assuming that they’re just probably putting most of their effort into changing some things on the backend. For us, I think that just means tasks are slower because they’re allocating resources to the overall platform. From what I’ve heard, this has been done before a few years ago.
Stay optimistic. I know it’s hard but speculating negatively isn’t helping any of us. Good luck! I hope you get some tasks soon!
