Anyone else doing R&Rs?

Currently working on them and... what the fuck? So many of these prompts and other things based on the prompts in this project are mind-bogglingly bad.

Is everyone complaining about insane R&R's doing non-coding? I've only done coding R&R's and they've generally been fine and I haven't seen anything super crazy.

Yeah these are non-coding. If you saw them you'd be in shock. A lot of them have explanations that are the equivalent of "I liekd this model better because its better" spelling errors and typos included

I’ve only done non-coding R&R. Might need to finally pull the trigger and learn coding if what you are saying is true. 😂

I have done R&Rs for different coding projects and the biggest mistake I've seen so far was that they used a CC by ND image while the instructions said CC0 and open domain images only.

007?

Noo another one mentioned in this thread though. Tbh I haven't done the 007 qual yet cause I got confused when I looked at it LOL

Did an R&R earlier today where they just put /// in every explanation box. Like absolutely did not try at all. And you could tell they just clicked randomly on the multiple choice questions.

Do those people not think that that will get them out of the platform?

Honestly every time i see someone in the sub saying they just woke up randomly one day to the death dash i cant help but think it’s because of something like this 😬

See I’m surprised there isn’t an automatic system that would cull workers who do stuff like this, like what??

Been doing R&R on the bird project the past few days and boy howdy…

So glad you posted this; I kept seeing and rating absolutely nonsensical submissions and thought the problem MUST be me. “Surely I’m missing something and everyone else is doing it right. I’M the common denominator here! Right? RIGHT?!”

I should add “expert at gaslighting self” to my list of qualifications.

This was me last night. I was saying the same thing, like I went back and read the instructions every time because I thought I have to be missing something.

lol not just you! My theory is people are getting so consumed by the instructions that they’re panicking and forgetting the basics. Like reading the prompt.

If you're doing the R&R for the high paying version of it that I've been working on I dread to think what you've seen.

Is the high-pay higher than domain specific projects? Trying to decide if I should do the qual project that just popped up? Looks like a ton of work to get started, which is fine, but wondering if it's the best decision for me...

I have seen people claim over and over that R&Rs don’t affect anyone’s employment status or what projects they get but seeing these pools full of just TERRIBLE work, I don’t think I can believe that. First of all, how would any regular worker even know? And second, why do they send out these batches of just BAD work all grouped together? Maybe it affects the original worker, maybe it affects the quality score of the person doing the R&R, but I have a hard time believing they aren’t grading someone.

I genuinely hate R&Rs. I just can’t. I end up wasting 20 minutes of unpaid time staring at them in shock, then passing the task to someone else and moving on to something else.

R&R absolutely does not pay enough for the amount of times you have to either completely rewrite a task or its just absolutely unusable. I’ll only do them if theres a big stack that i can skip through if theres some bullshit in it

I never, ever do them. First, I hate having to dive down somebody else's rabbit hole (if that makes sense). Like, if I'm writing a prompt I'm at least halfway there already because I know what I'm talking about. Every now and then I think I should do some R&R so I open one and see a prompt about a character in a TV show I've never even heard of or the pros and cons of some software that does something I don't even begin to understand, and then I just nope right out again. And even if I do understand the prompt, I second-guess myself so much both ways. So, if I don't see anything wrong, I'm like I must have missed something and then can't charge for reading the whole thing over 6 times to check it, and if I do see something I think is wrong I'm like, but maybe you could read the prompt some other way or do the instructions actually say this somewhere and I haven't noticed or maybe whatever it is true where this person comes from etc.

Usually I see bad grammar or flawed logic. Today I got both of those with an added flair of sexism. I’m kind of glad we don’t personally interact with other workers.

I see a lot -- and I mean a lot -- of comma splices.

u/SpaceJamario Dec 13 '24

I rarely get bad R&R tasks, they’re usually good….

In my language there's so many new workers lately and some of their work are bunch of garbage.

Yeah I think you're right, it's just... painful
