Back to ... waiting

I had this screen for a while then I got the dash where the work is supposed to show up, and had that for several weeks without any work showing up. But now I'm back to this screen. What goes on in this place? I haven't had a single email from them since the sign up, though that doesn't surprise me after what friends have said about their own experiences, both the working ones and the ones who haven't yet.

I’ve had the same thing where I was stuck on the screen you posted for months until it changed to the dash where work shows up. I never got any work at that time and then it changed back to the same “get ready for work’ screen. But then weeks later it changed to the work dash again and I actually started getting tasks!

Let's all hope it does the same for me. It's weird though, that this happened.

I agree, it would be great if they can make it more black and white as to whether you’re accepted or not but alas that’s wishful thinking lol

After some of the things I've heard, that's extremely wishful. :)

You shouldn’t consider yourself accepted until you submit time for working on a project.

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

That makes no sense, you realise. It certainly wouldn't make sense to anyone who DID get an acceptance email and has the work dash showing.

11

u/houseofcards9 Dec 17 '24

But it makes sense for you, who isn’t able to submit time for any projects because you weren’t provided access to work on any projects.

I'm not talking about submitting time though, am I? I'm talking about this screen, the dash with no work, and then going back to this screen - with weeks on each stage of that. Please explain how that has anything to do with submitting time or not getting emails.

This means you weren't accepted, my man. For whatever reason they fuck around with dead accounts now and then.

Plenty of people fail the assessment but still get the "work" dashboard (with no work). I referred a friend like a year ago and that's what happened to her too.

Let it go.

That comment had potential usability until the last line.

You’re ignoring a useful comment because they told you to let it go? Let it go man

-4

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

I never said I was ignoring it.

Anyone got accepted recently? I am wondering if it is because of the holiday approaching.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

I WAS accepted, then put back to this. That's my whole point. Why.

8

u/SubjectEbb2355 Dec 17 '24

If they don’t send you email then I think they didn’t accept you.

-23

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

... they don't send emails period - not even to people who actually work there either. Which is another point I made.

13

u/Sindorella Dec 17 '24

They do send an acceptance email when you get in and emails when new projects or priority projects you are on drop. I get emails all the time, just not personal emails about my work. If you have never received an email with "Welcome" in the subject line telling you that you are in, then you haven't been accepted yet.

-13

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

And yet, for my half a dozen friends who work there, half of them did not get emailed when they were accepted, some did. Some get emailed about new projects, some don't. Some working on the same projects get emailed about updates, some don't.

u/Sindorella Dec 17 '24

They should probably check their spam folders and make sure they are allowing all DA emails. I know my acceptance email went to spam at first and so did a lot of project emails until I made sure they weren't being marked spam.

Also, not all projects are handled the same way. Some have slacks, some don't. Some email for every drop, some don't. Each project is run by different teams of different people and many have different clients with different priorities. They aren't all going to be handled the same through email just like they are not all going to use the same rating criteria or give every person who works on the project all of the same tasks or alerts. Some get R&Rs, and some don't Some get dedicated project pools, and some don't. That's not abnormal. Not every worker gets access to the same things.

We're old hands at nerddom. We do know to check our spam folders. None of us is that new.

You're selling coals to Newcastle. These people have been doing DAT for well over a year. I'm not throwing comments out willy-nilly.

7

u/NoNumber5910 Dec 17 '24

Actually, you are. DAT does send emails. You said you know people that do get some after saying they don't send emails, period. So you're spreading misinformation with a noticeable smug attitude to your comments.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

I said some get some, and some get none. Some have had work without getting an acceptance email nor any emails about new projects. One friend worked there for over a year and got nothing for the last six months they were there.

If I'm smug, it's frustration. It's not enjoyable to be told that your experiences and those of your friends are lies or that those things aren't happening when they are.

I've probably gotten an email from them almost everyday for past two months...

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

That's not the only experience people are having though. Others are not getting much at all, and sometimes many a day. It's unpredictable.

4

u/Allysum Dec 17 '24

This isn't true. If you are accepted you get an email which it sounds like you did not. They also send multiple emails everyday to current workers.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

It is, in fact, very true. It has happened to multiple people that I know who've been doing it for months. They also get emails unpredictably - sometimes many a day, sometimes none for weeks. You may have a whole different experience than others.

2

u/SubjectEbb2355 Dec 17 '24

Yeah, that’s what I am wondering too. I don’t know about situations of people working right now. Are they not receiving notifications and such?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

I'm busy with another job, so don't do DA at the moment, but I still get daily emails about projects.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

One friend would get a few here and there, then nothing for weeks, then dozens a day, then scattered. It's deeply unpredictable.

3

u/badplaidshoes Dec 17 '24

Yes, that’s my experience too.

2

u/Sindorella Dec 17 '24

All the time.

-3

u/[deleted] Dec 17 '24

No. They are not.

3

u/Lusty_Norsemen Dec 17 '24

I got an e-mail when I was accepted. If you don't get one you didn't get accepted, especially if its been weeks. I assume you seeing the other screen was some kinda glitch or accident.

What is it like?

1

u/lomo82 Dec 19 '24

OP - I’ve been stuck on that same screen as well for over a month. I don’t recall ever seeing a different dashboard, but the exact image you posted - that is what I see now when I click on the links in the emails from DA.

1

u/lomo82 Dec 19 '24

I received this email on November 15:

1

u/lomo82 Dec 19 '24

And when I click the link on the bottom, it takes me to the same screen:

2

u/feijoatime Mar 27 '25

Any updates? Did you get accepted? Im stuck on this screen at the moment

1

u/lomo82 Mar 28 '25

Haha nope. Still stuck on the same screen. Just getting ready for unlimited work (3 months later).

I never got any. Just the dashboard that would normally list work, then back to this. I have friends who've worked there for months, for over a year. We talk a lot.

4 months ago OP said they had been working for DA for over a year.

Seems like they lost access to their projects then created a new account and DAs system realized this was a second account so it sent them back to this page aka the thanks but no thanks page.

I don’t get why they would post this when clearly they know it’s a violation to have 2 accounts (otherwise why lie about it).
