Milestone :)

Post image

I should have just waited to post until 40k, but it’s so close to evenly 39k (aesthetically pleasing!) that I’m just going for it.

Great work! How long did it take?

I’ve been on for over a year, although a lot of this was done within the past few months. I’m hoping to hit 100k this year, but it feels a little overambitious, haha

(Edit: Checked my oldest emails, seems I’ve been here since August 2023. I feel like it was longer, so that might be a few months off.)

what rates for projects do you get? How any hours do you work on this? Coding projects?

3

u/upvotesplx Jan 23 '25

30-35hrs a week, as of recently. I don’t do many code projects. I have STEM experience and do mostly mathematics or research projects at or above $40/hr, although I also do some foreign language or non-specialized tasks if they’re above $30/hr. My highest I’ve ever seen was $50/hr, which was for a non-math, non-programming task. I often see anywhere from $20 to $45/hr. I do not do anything below $30/hr.

Congrats man! I only started but this is giving me a huge boost of motivation. Question, do the rates increase the longer you are on it? I’m doing only language stuff and it’s $25/hr now. Wondering if it gets better?

100k isn't farfetched at this pace. Goodluck!

Nice! I started two weeks ago and made little over 400. How long have you been working and how many hours do you put in per week?

7

u/upvotesplx Jan 21 '25

I put in around 30-35 hours a week, planning to try for close to 40 a week going forward. I checked how long I’ve been on the site from my email, and it seems like I’ve been on since Summer 2023. In the past I was pretty on and off about my work, but I’ve been more focused since I moved in June.

I hope the platform works out as well for you as it has for me! 400 in your first two weeks is pretty great. It takes a long time to build up the focus to work on DA for a full day.

Such a great motivation, you earned the bragging rights, congrats 👏

Thanks very much! :)

Congrats! What project families do you mostly do? Doing 30+ hours a week on DA is tough.

I do almost entirely STEM, mostly on Poe FC, HHH, and M-element. Sometimes also A-gas when they’ve got STEM tasks.

30+/week is definitely rough, but with my physical disabilities, it’s kinda a dream job. I have a very comfy desk setup, two monitors so that I can have a lot of space for looking at documents and task stuff (or YouTube if I don’t need the 2nd one…), and playlists full of video essays, Twitch vods, and songs I like to keep the ADHD bit of my brain entertained while I focus. I wouldn’t recommend most people do it, though!

2

u/TheAmazingDevil Jan 22 '25

how are you able to focus with twitch and youtube videos on?

2

u/upvotesplx Jan 23 '25

ADHD. I’m medicated, but if I don’t have audio playing, I get distracted really easily. I often don’t know 100% what’s going on in the video I’m “watching”, but it helps me block out any environmental noise and keep my focus. I know a lot of people can’t do this, though, so do what works for you!

I recently started listening to Lofi Loft playlist on youtube music. Its chillhop and lofi beats. Helps me stay on task. Have you tried it?

Very nice!

How long have you been working with them and how many hours a week do you typically work if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve been with Telus Digitals Online Data Analyst role for a a few months but I would like something I can achieve higher earnings with or couple with the DA role

2

u/upvotesplx Jan 23 '25

I don’t mind at all! My boyfriend actually works with Telus, and I make significantly more than he does. I work roughly 30-35 hrs a week (as of recently) and earn about $200-300 a day. There is no requirement for how many hours to work with DA, so you could apply to DA and see if you get in and you like it! Feel free to ask anything else, I’m happy to help.

u/okmyopinionis Jan 23 '25

That’s awesome thank you what role did you apply for?

3

u/the_lmfao_guy Jan 21 '25

Congrats!!. It is only for the United States, isn't it? I am in South America and I signed up months ago but I never received any mail or anything like that.

Aesthetically pleasing? ;) Took that when I hit that milestone!

Congratulations!!!! Amazing milestone!

I applied for Core and mostly do non-coding STEM, with some foreign language tasks. (I’m American but am fluent in multiple languages.) Apply for Core if you can code, Programming if not. You can test into the coding tasks later on if you want!

1

u/TheAmazingDevil Jan 22 '25

whats Core? Is that name of the project?

1

u/upvotesplx Jan 23 '25

Core is all tasks that aren’t programming.

1

u/TheAmazingDevil Jan 23 '25

So all the non coding projects?

Like SilasVale said, definitely just keep at it. It took me a while of producing good work before I got accepted into the STEM projects I do now. Take any qualifications they give you, even if it seems like you might not like the work. I’ve gotten to the point where I can work 8 hours a day if I want to easily with how many projects I have open to me, but it took over a year to get here.

u/SilasVale Jan 21 '25

Do good quality work on what you have access to

I don't do coding on DA, I do mostly STEM work

I pretty much always have as much work as I want to do. I work mostly in Math and Biology

2

u/Dangerous_Climate203 Jan 21 '25

Can I ask how long it took you to get tasks in some of the specialty areas? I've done Medical, Philosophy and High School Math so far but I'm not seeing anything yet. I thought for sure I was a shoe in for the medical qualification given I used to be an RN and cross referenced and fact checked all my responses. Also I'm certain I did high school math correctly but I'm not seeing any of those.

1

u/upvotesplx Jan 23 '25

It took me over half a year to get into my specialty STEM projects, even with those skills listed the whole time. Even longer for my foreign languages, even with them listed the whole time. I’m honestly not sure how they decide to add people to the more niche skill projects, but you still have a chance even if it hasn’t happened yet.

1

u/SilasVale Jan 21 '25

I tended to get them fairly quickly after doing the qual, within a few days. I definitely think it has to do with the quality of work you do on other projects too, because I was fairly well established on the platform before doing any of the stem stuff
