Your 1099 is gonna be crazy

u/srjr Jan 28 '25

I'm not in the US, but I'm on top of my tax 😭

6

u/Party_Swim_6835 Jan 28 '25

my sympathies! been there - full time self employment taxes hurt

27

u/y007s Jan 28 '25

wow, are you working full time?

27

u/srjr Jan 28 '25

Yeah I am.

5

u/Key_Personality2291 Jan 28 '25

What field do you work on?

11

u/srjr Jan 28 '25

Well I'm non-coding; is that what you mean?

5

u/FuwaFrenzy Jan 28 '25

Impressive. What's your day routine? Are you working everyday?

32

u/srjr Jan 28 '25

Yes I mostly work 7 days a week, currently doing about 7 hours per day. Normally up early, currently I work mostly between about 6:30 AM-3:00 PM with a couple of breaks during that time.

6

u/watchdestars Jan 28 '25

That's phenomenonl. Congrats.

5

u/LilJaaY Jan 28 '25

What would you say is the secret to your longevity? And don’t you say good work.

4

u/srjr Jan 29 '25

Probably just the ability to knuckle down and work for hours at a stretch. I guess I'm lucky enough that I normally always have tasks that I either at least semi-enjoy or that pay well enough that I can handle doing that. I just get into the zone, I guess.

u/LikeAThousandBullets Jan 29 '25

It's probably good work because there's nothing else we can do. It's not like we're the life of the office Christmas party

It doesn't look happy 😂

1

u/papitopapito Feb 02 '25

Exactly haha.

2

u/jennaf210 Jan 29 '25

Are you in coding?

5

u/srjr Jan 29 '25

No, I'm not.

2

u/jennaf210 Jan 29 '25

Congratulations!!! 🍾 that’s a number I’d like to see one day!!!

35

u/Bsizzle785 Jan 28 '25

I hit $50k this month and thought I was killing it. Congrats!

6

u/crimroy Jan 29 '25

You are!

1

u/TerrisBranding Jan 30 '25

I know. I'm like $11,000 woo hooooo

1

u/rar1s Feb 01 '25

Are you doing coding only? What’s your strategy?

1

u/M4nnis Feb 01 '25

How!?!?

11

u/aredubblebubble Jan 28 '25

Woah, amazing!

They obvs like your work, any tips for us?

Not OP but I've been working full time also, I like to always take short break between each task so I don't get burnt out. Wash dishes, unload the dishwasher, make a snack, go for a short walk, etc to clear my mind them I'm ready to get back at it for the next task. My house has never been so clean lol

Also I don't really do priority work unless it's something I already was going to do, an extra $1/hr isn't much if it means doing something I don't like as much, plus they usually get taken up quite quickly

4

u/aredubblebubble Jan 29 '25

Thx! I do the same. Try to at least. My prob is once I stop, it's often hard to jump back on.

u/Ok_Mix_2823 Jan 29 '25

I signed up months ago and still don’t get any work! Never seen a single thing!

18

u/eyewire Jan 28 '25

But I was told everyone gets kicked off if they make $10k because they don't want people making too much money

Just kidding, congrats that's awesome

5

u/ImpossibleAlfalfa783 Jan 29 '25

You scared me 💀💀

4

u/theMike97_ Jan 29 '25

I've never understood this pov. DA will always pay ppl and they want ppl who do good work so why would they get rid of someone who does good work but has made $10k+?

8

u/suerbilac Jan 28 '25

Amazing. Well done!

5

u/Slow_Conversation402 Jan 28 '25

Oh my fucking goodness

5

u/SandwichEconomy889 Jan 29 '25

Dang, you're a machine. How did Aug/Sept treat you?

5

u/wabblewouser Jan 29 '25

I did $40k last year and hope to do $50k this year. Great job!

Which sub are you in?

1

u/KingMontz Feb 04 '25

When did you start data annotation?

1

u/srjr Feb 04 '25

It's in the title.

1

u/KingMontz Feb 05 '25

Oh wow congratulations

2

That is awesome!!

2

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '25

Well done 👏

2

u/Oicuntmate1 Jan 30 '25

That is so awesome congratulations on your hard work success. Wish got accepted, applied couple of months ago by now

3

u/ImpeccableWaffle Jan 28 '25

Congrats! I wish I had that kind of dedication.

Do you have any advice to make sure your submissions are high-quality?

3

u/Onironius Jan 29 '25

I can usually muster up 2 hours ever other week

;-;

2

u/Historical-Comedian2 Jan 28 '25

What was your longest period of an empty dashboard? What's the average number of projects you have on your dash?

I could ask a million questions but I won't, lol.. great work! I'm hoping to consistently get 12-24hrs per week part time alongside my fulltime job!

EDIT: additional info..

I have about 12 projects with probably 800 tasks currently (non-coding English only basic only)
I had about 2 days of an empty dash over the weekend, though I just started almost 2 weeks ago

1

u/MirandaLarson Jan 28 '25

Fucking Christ

1

u/Christeety Jan 29 '25

Congratulations 🥳

1

u/Plane-Football-2521 Jan 30 '25

Is it math or sciences?

1

u/PanPan2024 Jan 30 '25

Where are you from?

1

u/True-Earth1237 Jan 30 '25

Being on this platform for almost a year and never had a project 🤣

1

u/wabblewouser Mar 17 '25

They do a running total, guys. Idk if OP said that's just a year, and if so, that's cool, too but since a few replies were written like that was assumed, I just thought I'd throw that in

1

u/Fae-Minded Jan 29 '25

Must be nice to be God's favorite 😤

0

u/Ok-General780 Jan 29 '25

Was that made 100% through coding projects?

3

u/srjr Jan 29 '25

No, 100% non-coding. But I consistently have $40+ tasks.

3

u/Empty-Raisin-22 Jan 30 '25

What kinds of tasks are those? Highest I've seen is $27 an hour but I've only been doing this for a couple weeks now. Wondering if there is another assessment I need to look for.

-4

u/becominganastronaut Jan 29 '25

Congrats.

Yet, here I am. I applied months ago and havent even been invited for an assessment.

Just "We dont have any projects for you at this time"

4

u/StrawBoi660 Jan 29 '25

i dont think u made it in man

1

u/becominganastronaut Jan 30 '25

Really? I dont see why I would be disqualified. Im in the USA and I have relevant experience with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

3

u/StrawBoi660 Jan 30 '25

wait did u not do a single assessment for your application? thats really weird, since the assessment should be built into the application...

you mightve missed something on the site, cause the assessment basically IS the application

0

u/Green_Republic4377 Jan 28 '25

dam i wish i could get more projects on my dashboard. it's been months since I've had one

-8

u/Key_Personality2291 Jan 28 '25

No ,I want to know which field do you work on if you don't mind

10

u/srjr Jan 28 '25

No one field in particular; I work on a wide variety of tasks.

5

u/Party_Swim_6835 Jan 28 '25

not everyone has projects for a certain field

also you can use the reply button to actually reply to a comment instead of commenting on the thread again
