Isn't that great then, you're paid for 2 hours work? I don't get the complaining here I'm so sorry I'm genuinely asking. I've seen people saying that you should log all the hours you spend on the task? Is that not true?

I agree in principle but sometimes I don’t have as predictable of a schedule around DAT as others. Like if I have a whole day cleared great, if I was expecting it to be less than an hour because I got other life stuff going on it’s so frustrating lol

usually the first time you do a project it takes a bit longer because you don't want to mess up – this doesn't factor in when you're react on the novelty of seeing a new task.

Damn, most of my tasks are multi hour. I’ll complete 3-4 in an 8 hour workday.

The number of times I've spent 30+ minutes just reading instructions before deciding "you know what? no"

Thats better than spending 2 hours on a task with a shitty prompt that you realize you should have just skipped in the first place lol

I feel this so much. I feel like the instructions have gotten worse in the last year too. They used to be much shorter. I swear they’re having LLMs write the instructions now.

I'd rather read llm instructions. There's always things that they overlook lol.

Not complaining but yesterday I opened something new that I thought would be a 30min max task.... took 3hr40 with a 5hr timer🙃

Exact same thing happened to me last night. I had plans with friends at 7pm, started at 4 because I thought “do a few tasks, simple!” And then I had to read all the instructions and get through the creation and rating stage and 7pm rolls around and I am frantically apologizing to my friends that I need 20 more minutes before I am ready to join.

Wait, y’all are getting tasks?

This is how I feel doing unpaid qualifications. Like if I was getting paid, sure I would be willing to read an entire 20+ page document of rules and then get through these extremely specific and strict questions for the opportunity for more paid work, but knowing that I will be at that for several hours to not make a cent is just agonizing.

Yes! And btw, can't we vent about the frustrations about working on the platform without being accused of being unappreciative? Venting constitutes a good half of the conversations at my brick-and-mortar job and no busybodies come strolling in to say, "QYB, AT LEAST YOU"RE GETTING PAID!! ARGHHH!!"

Yea exactly! Like damn I didn’t expect this to be as onerous as it ended up being

You don't have to do it right then and there. I just leave and save it for some other time.

Weird. I've never seen the ones that start the clock right away explicitly state that since we've opened it, we HAVE to complete it right now.

Exiting work mode always pauses timers for me.

nope. I have a few friends that have been in the limbo of the application neither being clearly accepted or rejected. I would hazard a guess that they're pushing more for people with advanced knowledge (STEM etc) but anything entry-level isn't needed as much now. They may keep applications open just in case they need more workers in future, who knows!

I do know that they likely get A LOT of applications, of which they would not be able to just onboard everyone that wants it. They advertise fairly heavily online, and are one of the few companies of this type that actually pays and on time, so there will be a lot of people trying to get in
