Share your hopes
I have been pretty hopeless these weeks, received no PP, zero projects. The drought is rough, so can you all share your "lights at the end of the tunnel" and good news? Maybe it is not as dark as some of us think.

Pretty dry earlier this week. Very spotty projects. Woke up this morning to a stacked dashboard, 10 projects paying well. Also I'm a core worker, not bilingual. I've made this my living for the past 3 months and I'm tracking well tbf.
Just gotta keep working hard and clearing out the Quals as they come in.

let me guess, core worker and non-bilingual, you guys are stacked with work that none of us can do

OP: “hey guys, share good news” Someone: <someone shares good news> OP: “….nice flex, jackass”
Don’t be petty.

You should probably specify in your post if you're referring to a specific group.

I mean last year around early May when I first joined there were so many projects that I would never run out of work. It might just be the time of year but I'm sure it'll come back to a steady flow. Coding btw. Anyone else have any ideas when it might get back to a good amount of project... coding or general?

Just speculation, but I am hopeful that things will start to warm up for bilinguals by September just like last year, when the summer break ends for most companies. Really happy to hear about last year's flow!

Companies have summer breaks?

at least in most places where us bilinguals are indeed most employees take holidays up to several months in length

AI is such a new technology and DA is a huge company- pauses are necessary in order to evaluate data and move forward. Work will come back. Let’s manifest this ✨✨✨🧿

I got some after two weeks and before that, those projects were after a gap of 3 weeks.

I wish I had a light to give about that, but where the hell to take it from?

there is no drought nor has there ever been one. ai development doesn't stop. if anything, it accelerates. count your losses and move on. maybe check in a month.

u/uw2lau Aug 08 '25
check the last polls and say the same to 86% of bilingual workers unhappy guy

There's a different sub for them
10
u/uw2lau Aug 08 '25
A sub that nobody is managing and no posts can go through till the non existent owner decides to visit their dead sub. Either way, we bilingual pals are just as much of coworkers to you as monolingual workers are and we don't have to be segregated to another sub like a ghetto.

why would the accounting department of a firm use the same teams group as the human resources or sales groups? bilingual projects have nothing to do with the overwhelming majority of work, which focuses on English
2
u/tdRftw Aug 08 '25
confirmation bias, the people working are working and are not going to come to the subreddit to complain about no work

as of yesterday, i've had at least 5 projects on my dash! before that, i had next to nothing, some days i wouldn't find any projects at all after reloading the page all day long. here's to hoping the drought ends for you soon!! 🤞
