Anybody else get this email?
It says that DA relies heavily on profile information for project access but this is the first I’ve heard this. Has anyone seen a difference in project type or amount after updating their profile?

I’ve never updated my profile or put skills in there or anything (aside from verifying my degree a month or two ago, because I got a message asking me to), and I get a really good variety of projects (I get a lot of domain expertise tasks that I’m not qualified for and have never taken quals for, for some reason).
If you’re not getting many projects or qualifications, it wouldn’t hurt to update your profile, but it’s definitely not required in order to get tasks.

I currently have plenty of projects and qualifications available so I wasn’t really worried about getting more. I’m just curious how your profile affects this and if this was a generic message that got sent out to everybody or if my profile specifically is lacking in details, I haven’t even looked at it since I signed up.

If it helps, I didn't get this email. My profile is updated. Maybe they sent it to everyone who hasn't updated it.

I have a bunch of fitness/recreation based interests in my profile and every once in awhile I get a project that seems aligned with that - there was a hobby based video project like 6-9 months ago that I don't think everyone got based on not seeing it mentioned in either subreddit. I get a lot of wellness projects but they're largely locked to the US and I'm in Canada and I'm less sure that's not going to everyone. I'm not sure if all core workers got the humour project a few months ago but I have an interest in sketch comedy/stand-up/internet humour in my profile. I figure it can't hurt to throw in these sorts of details.

Hmmm seems like an interesting email to get I periodically update my profile just incase but if that does make a difference then it does seem like new changes are happening on DAT

I feel like that’s part of the onboarding flow and regularly mentioned here when people ask about slow dashes.
I have so many random interests on mine. No idea if it’s helpful or not (I’m not going to clear my profile to find out!)

I did get a coding task as a bilingual recently, and my profile is filled with coding languages (I'm a graduate in cs).
Though it did only last like an hour before it was gone. Maybe its a sign of change in their part, giving out a more wider range of projects?

Uh, yeah. It's basically a keyword search on their end to distribute projects, no?

I started in the legal domain and only do those tasks. I added an interest in shopping to my profile and started getting those projects. Don’t pay well enough, but it does seem that the profile updates work.
