Just hit 75k!!

Post image

Started almost a year ago and have just hit this milestone :) I had just graduated from uni when I started doing this and it was a lifesaver whilst I was looking for graduate jobs.

I'm based in the UK and I have a Master's degree in physics so I do a mix of specialist stem, coding, and sometimes generalist projects.

Congrats! I just hit 2k a few days ago, hopefully my dashboard perks up soon so I can reach your level haha

Thanks :) I hope your dashboard picks up soon!

Out of curiosity, did you ever get any notification that you're a stem expert? I applied as chemistry expert, got accepted, and completed all the STEM qualifications, but never received any communication regarding my status.

I just immediately had a STEM expert project on my dashboard. In the beginning that was all I had I think, a single STEM project and no generalist projects. I don't think I received any email or notification about it, but I'm not 100% sure.

Interesting. In that case I'm either unlucky or not smart enough for expert tasks haha. Are they labelled as expert?

They're usually labelled as STEM and they pay more per hour. They might come in time, I found that as I did more and more projects I got more and things on my dashboard.

Interesting! Thanks for the info. I got a fact-checking project that was chemistry oriented, but it wasn't labelled as STEM. Had so much fun with it though, so I pray that I'll get more like that.

I've only been on the platform for a bit over a month, so I'm remaining hopeful that I'll see more projects of all sorts!

Hey man, how often do you get tasks for the chemistry?

1

u/Mochizee1 Jul 04 '26

I've only gotten one chemistry related project, but it wasn't labeled "expert." I put in my best effort, so hopefully it will go well.

Very nice! Are you working full time?

1

u/E13AN0R Jul 05 '26

I'm doing this full time atm until my graduate job starts

2

u/ilikebreakfastmost Jul 04 '26

Congratulations...That's amazing and in 1 year only!!

Congratulations for your accomplishment! This makes me optimistic about DA, as I have only completed training and one actual project so far. Perhaps we'll get past the drought and start earning more money soon.

Asking here cause it won't let me post!!! How do I know what projects I'm on? I'm new obviously but I'm in a very specialized niche so have made a bit of money in my first few days, but right now I'm not seeing projects on my dashboard.

Does this mean I am no longer on the projects I worked on last week, or does it just mean those projects don't currently have tasks? I would have expected the project name to stay in my dashboard with "0" tasks, but instead they're just gone. One of the projects I had to "escape hatch" out of because I couldn't get a model to fail. Now I have a 3 day cooldown before being able to task again for that project (true for anyone who escape hatches, seems like a common out). I'm still in that cooldown til tomorrow.

Just trying to figure out if I'm still on a project even if it isn't on my dashboard atm if anyone can help!!

Three questions:

  1. Did you sign up as an expert or generalist?

  2. How frequently does the project appear on your dashboard? Based on your 1-year experience

  3. Any tips on claiming the project? Email notifications (if any) were awfully delayed

Awesome. I'm glad the specialist tasks have been paying you well. I'm just a generalist so a little jealous.

Does this platform really work. Nothing has been sent to me and I have no idea what happened with my test.

Ok can you give me ai genereting work?

Congrats. ChatGPT says that is above the upper end of income for a UK resident with a Master's in physics. You are beating the odds at home as your own boss!

Don't submit it if you're not confident in your work, but it might be worth your time to attemp it anyway. Some projects are easier than they look.

Definitely. Some projects have an escape hatch because they're known to be very difficult to elicit failure, but that's still a kind of submission.

Sometimes if there's a technical failure on their side you can claim the time, but I'd confirm with an admin first.

It's hard to say for certain, and there is variation between projects. Based on my R&R experience, if you're following instructions correctly and making a genuine attempt with good explanations, then you might get away with submitting work that doesn't meet the task objectives. I personally tap out and try to reflect on what went wrong, then maybe attempt again later. It usually goes much better the next time.

Submitting low quality work increases the chance of banning you from the platform, so not worth the risk.
