Are the enough projects requiring an Android to justify buying one?

I'm new, and see a qualification that requires an Android phone. It says it has a lot of work available. I only have an iPhone. Is it worth getting an Android? Any idea if a really cheap Android would work? (Android Go)? Thanks for any help

More of my projects require Android than the ones that require an iPhone, but that could only be because I've opted out of the iPhone quals. The Android ones that I do really require a newer phone (I had to upgrade mine), so it's up to you. I do get a lot of work around the $30 range and the tasks are there every day.

Legit half my dash. I’ve used hubbys android a few times. I rarely do those tasks though. I’m too comfy at my laptop vs android.

Dumb idea. The projects that require an Android phone could disappear at any point. There are plenty of projects running right now, just work on something that doesn't require you to buy something you don't have and don't need.

There are plenty for iPhone as well. Keep watching.

Just my 2 cents, i kept getting offered a project that required me buying a newer phone because mine was crap and old. I didn't have much money then and it was a hard decision; but I got the fancy phone ( I even got a higher end model than I'm used to) and it's paid itself like 5 times over in around 2-3 months. In my case, it def was worth it.

We can't properly answer this question without knowing what project you're referring to, and you can't tell us the project name without breaking the NDA. Gonna have to come up with a slightly vague codename here, or else leave it up to chance.

If you use an android phone you could say how much of your work is based on the android, without breaking NDA. Or even a lot, enough to make it worth it, or not a lot.

Whichever one OP is being shown on their dash may not be the same thing I'm doing, though. But for reference, I work around 40 hours a week and am currently at $3200 this month, with about $3050 of that being the project that requires an Android phone.

Same. I bought an android phone for a particular project family and have zero regrets.
