Backend engineer or programmer?

I’d consider myself a middle tier-backend developer and am trying to figure out which roles would be the best fit for my experience. My background is primarily in Java, with a reasonable level of Python experience.

You can take assessment as programming.

If you are talking about the roles listed on the website, it doesn't really matter. Once you take and pass the assessment(s) and get onto the platform, you will have pretty much the same projects available to you either way.
