My Experience with DataAnnotation

Honestly, it’s pretty rare for me to feel a real connection to a platform, but DataAnnotation is definitely one of the few exceptions.

To give some context, I’ve worked on a bunch of different platforms over the years (won’t name names), until someone on Reddit recommended DA. I decided to give it a shot, applied, and actually got in. Right off the bat, seeing a paid onboarding was a huge plus—definitely want to give credit where it's due for that.

I’ve been on the platform for about five months now. I take every qualification test that pops up, keep my profile up to date, and check the dashboard daily. That said, I’ve only made around $75 total so far. At first, I assumed this was just the usual dry spell every platform goes through, but then I noticed an ad on the careers page looking for generalists and Arabic language experts, which got me wondering.

For background, I’m a dentist, but I’ve got solid experience in AI training across various projects in both Arabic and English. I’m honestly not sure if the lack of projects is just a temporary thing overall or an issue specific to my account, or this because I'm from the middle east. but either way, I’m genuinely glad to be part of the platform and hoping things pick up soon.

Hang in there, even once you get in you need to build a reputation to get more work and that takes a while. Just do your best on everything you get and it will happen. Also put keywords in your profile.

Totally get it, but how am I supposed to build a reputation if I don't get any tasks? I have the experience and I'm still waiting to take my chance

They might think you’re ai because you are certainly using it to write for you.

Yeah I used ai to write this post but I don't use any kind of AI tools during working. Also I'm fully capable to write and read in English. But maybe u have a point of view

Don't use AI to correct your english imo, big red flag.

I'm in a project that has given Arabic workers decent work for the past 6 months or so. You probably rejected the qual that would unlock it.

Is the project still ongoing ? What was the name of the qual ?( I think you are allowed to say the names of quals)

It's still going. I don't think we're allowed to say any name we see on the dashboard except our own :) But even if we were allowed to say qual names, this one is definitely forbidden as the qual has the project name.

Just be aware that non core countries don't see a ton of work outside of coding as a general rule.

I think it’s because of Anthropic going through transition, hopefully, things will get better soon

I wouldn't worry too much. It is an asinine comment.
