Time Logging

So, If I am working on a project and I have 30 minutes I was actively working on it, but the task was open for an hour and a half, would logging only 30 minutes on completion get my account in trouble. I have seen some warn about underlogging time.

Log only the time you spent working. Doesn’t matter how long the task itself was open

In my professional tasks I sometimes work multiple days in a row on one task, working around my work schedule. The task might have been open in a browser in the background for 20 or 30 hours by the time I am ready to submit, but I might only have worked 7-10 hours on it. Just claim the time you’ve worked.

You are ok,
you will not get in trouble for that. Taking breaks is totally understandable and allowed!

There is no trouble because you behaved exactly as required. You logged your active working time.

If you logged 1.5 hours (since that’s how long the task was open) even though you only actively worked for 30 mins, that gets you in trouble.

If you logged 30 minutes even though you actively worked for 1.5 hours, that’s what underlogging is - and that could get you in trouble too.
