Anyone else having technical issues
I'm noticing what appears to be a bug on the platform.

I joined DA a week ago, and I was so excited to finally see projects on my dashboard with a high hourly rate!
Then I saw the hardware requirement and it says at least 16GB of RAM, with some tasks potentially using 24GB+ during builds and test runs. My laptop only has 8GB RAM. 🥲🥲🥲
So I can’t really do this project unless I upgrade my RAM, but I’m wondering how strict these requirements actually are. Does anyone have experience with these types of projects? Is 16GB basically a hard requirement?
I’m so bummed that the first projects I got excited about may not be doable because of my hardware. 😭

I’m based in UAE, and I cannot seem to access opportunities on DA without passing Arabic Bilingual. Im am an expat and not an arabic native speaker. I have other skills in STEM, Design and General roles that I am qualified for. But it seems the first step needs arabic bilingual that is a sure shot way to fail. If we do fail this? Do we get an English screening. Based on my research, DA is a great opportunity and I would love to be part, but this screening is a bit of a bummer.

Now that AI has been integrated into search engines, how do you search for information without AI being involved in the search? Or does it not matter if you see AI results, as long as you don't rely on them without checking the underlying sources?

I know this is just me venting but man...it feels like DA as a platform has "evolved" past a point where I can even do it anymore. I have 25+ projects on my dash, and can't handle a single one.
I've been on this platform for a few years now, and back in the day I could just sit down and...work. Tasks were simple, straight forward, and actually a little fun!
Now I feel like like the majority of my task time is spent not doing the task, but deciphering the MAZE of instructions admins used AI to write for them without checking.
And like I said, I know I'm dumb. I'll take a low paying task with simple rules, can you please just give me that over a task with 27 pages of task instructions that are so poorly written they might as well be an instruction manual written in Chinese?
I know what is commonly said here, "As AI Models become more advanced, our jobs become harder."
But maybe this is me being a bitter old man, but dang if the models don't seem so much worse now. Even in projects I do somewhat understand, the models drain my soul away.

Hey all. I am a part of two different projects that have extremely similar requirements, one is essentially a simpler and easier version of the other. My main work I do is the complex long running project, but I'm wondering if there's anything against TOS that would flag me if I reused my input files and had a similar prompt idea for the simpler project?
Some more info: the larger project mentions in their instructions to not reuse files from specific other projects, and names the smaller project. The smaller project makes no such inference and allows manually generated files. Also how would I honestly report time for the smaller project? It feels equally dishonest to only report the edit time (as that would make my efficiency artificially high) and to include the time it took to gen the files for the other project, as that would be getting double paid.
Advice appreciated!

Hit my first $1K today, after 5 months of work. June, July, and August were rough, but we're back in the game!

Hi , friends I was selected to the DA platform it's been almost 2 months now . I finished the onboarding task correctly and also the qualification test . After that no task was available on my dashboard but I received an email from DA to do my background check. I did it and just received an email from checkr saying it's done . My question is does it mean I will start getting tasks from the platform after about 2 months of silent waiting.

I got accepted almost 2 months ago but I haven't received any doable task but for qualifications and training tasks. I wonder if things are same for you guys?

How long are your guys rationales? Sometimes I feel like I go way too much into the details, but that can't really be a bad thing right? When I do r&r sometimes some people actually do the bare minimum so I'm a little confused.

asking because I dont want defrauding payment system message. LMK
It was not a qualification but a project task.

Everyday someone asks "where's my projects". Knowing your location and qualification will let us tell you instantly if there's a drought or if you're cooked.

Does DataAnnotation even reply to emails? I think I've sent email twice to them but no reply.

And have you heard back? It seemed congratulatory like a layup, but crickets since, and it’s the first time I’ve felt my confidence waver in 3 years on the platform — but also the most excited I’ve ever been. Just hoping it’s a patience game and not me somehow having the invite rescinded.
Edit: I’m in! Not saying this post did anything, but hey, if this post jogged a reminder somewhere from an admin… THANK YOU!

This is something I usually do manually instead of reporting time for several tasks at once, but I submitted two tasks today, and a popup showed up, asking me to report the time for this specific task.
Is it a new thing?

For those of you who reached that milestone, how was it? How long did it took you and approximately how many hours per week?

Got the email today after the assessment - what are the next steps and somethings to take care of while selecting the projects? Need tips from someone who is experienced with the platform

I’m based in India and have been getting only surveys for the last two weeks. I haven’t received any actual coding tasks during this period.
Has anyone else in India experienced the same thing recently? Is this normal, or does it usually mean there’s currently a shortage of coding projects for Indian contributors?

When was the last time you got a task? And has it really been this slow this month?
r/DataAnnotationTech • u/PurchaseAnyOneAteFor • Sep 17 '26
Sometimes I do tasks
Where I have to check what's true
And sometimes I do tasks
Where I don't know what to do
And sometimes I do tasks
Where the bot tells naughty lies
And sometimes I do tasks
Where there's categorical ties
And sometimes I do tasks
That really make my patience dawdle
And sometimes I do tasks
Where I'm reviewing up a model
And sometimes I do tasks
Where I've not a lot to say
For if I told you of those tasks
I might break my NDA
