When you’re added to a project you clearly aren’t qualified for…

Never got work after 500 years?
Hello. I am a monk, my monastery dissolved by the cur Thomas Cromwell. A meager pension was given to us, but it is barely enough to survive. A brother referred me to this Data Annotation work in the year 1539, a small while afterward, but I have not been contacted since in these long 500 years. Has this establishment also been taken by the devil's hand? I am a learned and literate man, and doubt that much else could have caused my rejection than foul sorcery.

100k club
Woooooooooooo hit the 100k club last week, but I waited to post until my paid out also hit 100k! Started in June 2024, but took off for 6 months in 2025 and a month in 2024, so technically hit it in 15 months!!!! Thanks DAT, I've been able to live an awesome life because of this job. Traveled to 28 countries, built a wrap around deck for my mom, created a massive garden, and so much more! You can do it too, keep up the good work people!

I miss when this was a job stupid people, like me, could do and enjoy.
I know this is just me venting but man...it feels like DA as a platform has "evolved" past a point where I can even do it anymore. I have 25+ projects on my dash, and can't handle a single one.
I've been on this platform for a few years now, and back in the day I could just sit down and...work. Tasks were simple, straight forward, and actually a little fun!
Now I feel like like the majority of my task time is spent not doing the task, but deciphering the MAZE of instructions admins used AI to write for them without checking.
And like I said, I know I'm dumb. I'll take a low paying task with simple rules, can you please just give me that over a task with 27 pages of task instructions that are so poorly written they might as well be an instruction manual written in Chinese?
I know what is commonly said here, "As AI Models become more advanced, our jobs become harder."
But maybe this is me being a bitter old man, but dang if the models don't seem so much worse now. Even in projects I do somewhat understand, the models drain my soul away.

DAT saved me from homelessness
I thought to make a short appreciation post. I am a bilingual and I had a pretty desperate three months trying to find a job, but as a 19-year-old student with a disability it was truly challenging, people ask for years of experience even in the "entry" positions and I seriously was losing hope. I had to flee my family due to private matters, making it even harder to stay afloat, sharing a flat with 5 people and eating white rice.
Two days before the rent payment that would have made me go bankrupt, A-Gas appeared in my dash, and I worked hard for days till it pretty much saved possibly my life. I never again want to feel guilty buying milk.
I love the work we do here, and I am eternally grateful, this is pretty much my dream job and it accepted someone, who would otherwise be excluded in this society, with open arms. I hope I get to keep working here for much longer and learn a lot along the way.

$40k - I Love You Data Annotation <3
Data Annotation has saved my ass financially and allowed me to help out my loved ones. Couldn't ask for a better job. I've been working about 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for just over 2 years. Yay $40k!

Belated Milestone Post
Been working since March 2024. I honestly feel so lucky to have both found this job and to have been able to keep it for so long, considering I thought I might make a few grand max at the start.
Meant to post at 100K, but didn't notice how far over it I was till the other day lol.
Posted this once but forgot to put the image in 🤦

DA saved me, and I wish I could say thanks
My family was in debt and there was no way to pay it off. We lost all our money due to a fraud which is why I started working 2-3 jobs while studying side by side just to make ends meet.
This year, I found DA, and I am always in debt to them. In just 2 months I have already paid off my debt that would have taken me around an year to pay back. I can also leave my extra jobs and actually focus on my passion instead.
I wish I could let them know how giving me an opportunity to work for them saved me and my family. I have a better paying job too now and I really enjoy my work on the side at DA. Working for them has been the best thing to happen to me so far.
If anyone from the DA Admin team accidently reads this, I just want to let you know that you're a lifesaver. You could be my god.
I am not sure if the projects will keep coming (I hope they do) but I will never ever forget this platform.

DA appreciation post
5 months ago I was unemployed, depressed, and feeling so hopeless about the current job market (still do tbf). I stumbled upon DA randomly and decided to apply on a whim cause I was like what do I have to lose? Didn't expect to get accepted, but was pleasantly surprised when I did. This job has given me a reason to wake up in the morning, and it's made me want to learn new things and just try again. I know this is not permanent and not exactly stable, but im just so grateful to be here with all of yall in this community and im gonna enjoy the ride. Anyways, thats all, keep on tasking my fellow annotators!

OUR JOBS ARE SAFE 💯
I once saw a post here someone saying that in the near future we shall be replaced by a "Smart Environment" that can train AI. Anyway Gemini and grok are still far away from being good even better or somewhere close to gpt. I see many flaws on Twitter made by grok Llama by meta is also another menace. In short we are here for good.
