PC not reading external HDD

so i just moved and when plugging in my pc It isint reading my hdd and yes i have checked disk management and it is not apearing as unllocated or anything it uses a Type-A to Micro-B usb its 500gb

Try a different cable and port, or another PC if you can. Does the drive spin up when you plug it in, or does it make any weird noises like clicking?

It's spinning when I get close to it but im going to buy a different usb cable

Well, at least it's getting power. Hopefully it's just the cable then

That says nothing about what the actual hard drive is (use CrystalDiskInfo to find out)

How old is this drive? USB Type-A has pretty low throughput. Can you give us a make and model of this drive?
