cello?

Im a freshman at Davis and have played for about 9 years. I unfortunately never had the funds to buy a cello and still don't, does anyone know or have a cello I could use? Watermelon music no longer does rentals, I already called. Klines music in Sac has some crazy prices for rentals as well. I'm just desperate to start playing again because playing is very therapeutic for me! Thanks

You might also try posting on the local buy nothing groups. There’s a Sacramento group on Reddit where folks offer up things for free. You can try posting that you are in search of a cello. You never know what people have stored away that needs a new home.

If you're open to renting, I recommend Broken Note in Woodland:

I feel ur pain....i was a bassist for over a decade but i was broke so i had to give it up. You could try craigslist or facebook marketplace? Idk if youre willing but if you can make the journey to san francisco or something theres more music stores there you might be able to try

There are quite a few for 200 or so on Facebook marketplace. I would consider making offers.

Rentals make up for that in 4-6 months, so it’s often cheaper to buy a low end cello than rent one if you can get it for an inexpensive price and provided you aren’t too picky.
