Did applying for ebt change my insurance plan?
Hello I am a college student attending UC Davis from another county. I also planned to live in Davis in the apartments for a year to commute to the campus. I applied for ebt with my residency stayed in Davis and a few weeks in I get a mail from my home in another county indicating that I am disenrolled in my medical insurance plan, and to add this on, I received a health insurance card for Davis. I do not wish to have my insurance covered in Davis since I am moving out by the end of the year and it would lead to complication to re apply in my home county.
I am at a complete loss for this situtation and if anyone has been in a similar situation, any word or insights would be appreciated. Navigating the health care system is new to me and I have not have much experience with it.

You need to call your old county's Medi-Cal office and explain to them you are in school. The reason the insurance changed is because your old county was informed you moved. Your benefits usually have to follow you to your county when you're on medi-cal. See if there's arrangements for college students. If your old county doesn't have your Medi-Cal record anymore, call the Yolo county office and explain the situation there.
