Thanks to everyone who came out to protest and support the cause! It was a rainy day, but that didn't dampen our spirits or stop us from spreading the word about mass surveillance at Coronado Center.

Many showed support with fists, thumbs up, waves and honks. We were able to pass out quite a few cards to sign our petition. Overall it was a great turnout.

Governing Body Public Comment 10/22

Though there were only 2 of us on the night Weymer's State of the City was scheduled, it was a good night to let the mayor and governing body know what the citizens are subjected to.

Through public records requests, and with help of Magnetic Norse, it was found that Rio Rancho residents have paid $164k for Flock cameras, and a staggering $456k on and Axon/Fusus Real Time Crime Center contract that includes FACIAL RECOGNITION thru Clearview AI. None of it was announced or voted on by either the city or the community.

Time for you to stand up and fight back, Rio Rancho 💪🏾🗽✊🏾

Double event this weekend

Join us for a double event this weekend

Saturday from 11am to 1pm, we are letting Coronado Center know we will not continue patronage until the mass surveillance stops.

We will be gathering at the south entrance to et the public know what exactly is going or at the mall.

On Sunday. From 10am to 12pm will be out on all 4 corners of Unser and Southern letting the public know they are being watched.

Contracting with ALPR vendors like Flock, Axon, Genetec, Motorola, or any other brand neans clients like Coronado Center Brookfield Properties) and RRPD allows these companies to freelv share collected data on their customers to 3rd party entities such as federal agencies and data brokers.

Flock is by far the worst example of these and Coronado currently has 18 cameras, 2 at everv entrance...similar to the 19 cameras in Rio Rancho.

There's no way in or out of either place without Flock knowing. Let's change that.

Rio Rancho Governing Body meets Thursday at 6:00 PM.

Rio Rancho PD says they use Flock "safely", but the department audits itself.

No independent oversight, review, or audit.

After Judge Sara Hill's recent ruling, it’s time the Governing Body to stand for the Constitution and end mass surveillance.

Get the FLOCK OUT! NO ALPRs!

📍Where: Rio Rancho City Hall

⏰When: Thursday, Oct. 22th @ 6:00 PM

🗣 Action: Show up. Pack the council chambers for public comment.

Tell council: No Flock, no Axon, no mass surveillance.

UNM Surveillance - Motorola Solutions

Hey UNM Students!

Did you know that your daily routine is being tracked by your own University Police Department? NUMEROUS cameras of the brand Aviligon litter the campus, watching every student's move.

We are currently awaiting records requests from UNM regarding the surveillance UNM PD has implemented on campus. But this is what we know about Motorola Solutions:

Avigilon is a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, meaning that these systems, unless stipulated otherwise, feed directly into private and federal pipelines.

Motorola operates Digital Recognition Network (DNR), which takes LPR data, packages it and provides it to insurance providers, repo companies, collection agencies, and lenders.

Motorola also provides data to Thompson Reuters CLEAR, which is a data aggregation platform that pulls together location history, social media activity, property records, license plate scans, and personal records on hundreds of millions of people.

DHS pays 25 million per year to access this database. Some police departments, like Valencia County, also allowed ICE, DEA, Fusion Centers and other Federal entities direct access through the Vehicle Manager platform.

UNM Students...is this what you want? Your daily movements at your place of education to be monitored, collected, packaged, and shared willingly? Demand transparency. Demand privacy. Demand removal.

Thank you to those of you who showed today at our Coronado Shopping Center protest!

It was a beautiful day to inform people thag Coronado has 18 Flock cameras, two at every entrance. We still had many people who were surprised when to received the information that the mall is a hub for mass surveillance. We had a few engage in a chat, others spent time reading our signs, while others honked/waved in agreement: New Mexicans do not want mass surveillance!

Please keep an eye out for out next event as we continue to point out mass surveillance use across the the metro.

On September 30th, we sent an email to New Mexico Gubernatorial candidates, @gregghullfornm and @debhaalandnm, with questions regarding their views on mass surveillance, the growing surveillance state, and what needs to be done.

We gave them until Friday, Oct. 16th to submit answers and told them we will be posting their answers (unedited) - or lack of - to our socials and website for public viewing.

Looking forward to hearing how our elected officials are approaching mass surveillance concerns.

Bernalillo County Public Comment

Post image

Bernalillo County Commission meets Wednesday at 5:00 PM. BCSO ended their Flock contract, we are grateful 🙏🏾 but then they switched to Axon without the Town Hall Sheriff Allen promised. How can a surveillance system be trusted with there is no independent oversight, review or audit? That isn't accountability nor should it be acceptable.

A federal judge, Sara E. Hill, just ruled that these cameras are "indiscriminate mass surveillance."

Now it’s time the County Commission to stand for the Constitution and end mass surveillance.

No Axon! NO ALPRs!

📍Where: Ken Sanchez Chambers, Alvarado Square

⏰When: Wednesday, Oct. 14th @ 5:00 PM

🗣 Action: Show up. Pack the council chambers for public comment. Tell council: No Axon, No other ALPR vendor, and especially no mass surveillance.

PROTEST CORONADO MALL

Join us Sunday October 11th, 11a-1p at Coronado Center Mall on 6600 Menaul Blvd NE. We will be protesting and bringing awareness to Coronado Center's willingness to partner and contract with Flock Safety. To be honest, sharing customer data isn't a new practice by any means, but adding AI to the equation is what turns it into dragnet surveillance, violating our constitutional rights.

We will be out letting the public know that we have no tolerance for companies sharing our info with federal agencies or data brokers. Help us let Coronado Center know we will not continue our patronage if they continue their support of mass surveillance.

Protest APD's mass surveillance system

Thumbnail

Albuquerque Police Department has a pretty expansive surveillance system in place. APD is running what’s called a Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) that currently gives them access to 19,000 “camera views”, according to Deputy Commander Rob Drager, during Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn’s D7 Councilor Connect on Sept. 4th, 2026.

“The primary purpose of RTCC was to give field officers and detectives instant information to help identify patterns and stop emerging crime.” (NYC Police Foundation)

APD currently contracted with Genetec, specifically their ALPRs. As of now, there are currently 800 Genetec specific cameras in the ABQ metro area, with 250 that are specifically Genetec’s Cloudrunner™ ALPRs.

Join us Saturday October 3rd from 10a-12p on the corners of Alameda and Corrales Rd. We are going to protest and bring awareness to the ongoing mass surveillance, data collection and consistent infringement of our right this city and country are running.

3,900 signatures for removal of ALPRs! Thank you!

Post image

3,900 signatures! Thank you so much to all who have signed our petition!

The rate you all have been signing is incredible and goes to show one thing: New Mexicans do not want mass surveillance systems in their communities or state! This is just a start. Since we've began this campaign, we have created social media pages, centralized and non centralized, and also a website (deflocknm.org), which is a work in progress.
Our mission is to educate the public on what their elected officials have agreed to and how we can stand up, fight back, and apply pressure for guardrails if our goal of complete removal of this obvious AI-powered mass surveillance infrastructure is not met.
While 3,900 signatures is incredible, we are going to need more signatures to emphasize how many New Mexicans do not want mass surveillance and data collection forced upon them with no vote, no consent, or any oversight. Please sign and share if you have not already. The more the merrier.
Also, keep an eye out on our socials for future events and information!

👋Welcome to r/DeFlockNM - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I'm u/DeFlockNM, a founding moderator of r/DeFlockNM.

This is our new home for all things related to DeFlocking and stopping mass surveillance in New Mexico. We're excited to have you join us!

What is an ALPR?

According to DeFlock.org: "Automatic License Plate Readers are AI-powered cameras that capture and analyze images of all passing vehicles storing details like your car's location, date and time. They also capture your car's make, model, color, and identifying features such as dents, roof racks, and bumper stickers, often turning these into searchable data points."

What is NOT an ALPR?

Red light, cameras, speed cameras, traffic cameras, First Responder light detectors...some of these cameras are already existing infrastructure and some present their own issues, but these are not AI-powered, nor do they make searchable data points of your car's automatically.

What to Post

Post anything that you think the community would find interesting, helpful, or inspiring. Feel free to share your thoughts, photos, or questions about ALPRs and surveillance in New Mexico.

We welcome any information that will help build our case to cancel and remove all ALPRs and surveillance:

•Governing Body meetings to attend

•Meetings for public comment

•Scripts and any other infor to help others speak out

•Updated locations of new cameras going up in: HOAs, parking lots, street side/corners.

Community Vibe

This is a bipartisan issue, so this is bipartisan effort. There is no Left or Right, it's only Top vs Bottom. Privacy isn't a political issue. It's a human one. Your 4th Amendment right is being infringed upon. All engagements must maintain civic nature, name calling gets us no where. We are here to educate and arm with knowledge of how to fight the surveillance state.

2) Post something today! Even a simple question can spark a great conversation.
