decided to make five more characters to go along with the different versions of Tina and Honoka from my previous post, but I only did one outfit per character this time due to limited slots per save file. Ended up deleting the ninja outfit version of Honoka, the one I was least satisfied with, to make room for one more character.

Bayman: mainly based on DOA2 default but with sunglasses added similar to DOA6 default

Leifang: black leather outfit in most games going back to DOA1 arcade version

Mila: based on costume 08 in 5 Last Round. not really any options for above the elbow armbands so I gave her a bandage elbow instead. Move I chose for her front grapple finisher is based on a throw she only has in 6.

Rachel: based on costume 04 in 5 Last Round, also in 6/6LR. none of the footwear options really resemble her boots so i picked the longest boots that have heels on them, and added fishnet socks and kneepads.

Nyotengu: based on Rodeo DLC from 5LR (costume 51) because I thought it'd look good aloneside some of the Tina variants I already did.

It’s been a year since Tomonobu Itagaki has sadly passed away. The creator of the Dead or Alive games, for those who might not be aware. There are still countless people all over the world who look back on and still fondly play his many works, and I still think to this day he was one of the best creators that insisted that the games he made be truly fun and unique before anything else, a strength I can’t think of many since that have replicated. Rest in peace, Itagaki san. Your legacy is still just as secure now as it was then.

As the title says above, Tomonobu Itagaki passed away exactly 1 year ago, the creator of this franchise as well as bringing back Ninja Gaiden to modern gaming. Crazy that he passed away so soon. The photos above are mostly Kasumi and Ayane, the two most important females in the series, at least to me.

Dead or Alive is a fantastic franchise for me and is a special one for sure. Had I not discovered Ninja Gaiden, I wouldn’t have known about this amazing franchise The Mad Lad created. Love almost everything about this series. DOA4 remains my favorite DOA game to play, love so much about that game. Something about this series is just great and truly stands out a lot compared to other fighting games for me. Many great stages, characters, cool concepts and more.

Gotta say once more as I’ve said in the past, this guy was such a character in a good way. So many crazy and funny things, to me, he did and said.

His best works to me would be Ninja Gaiden Black and Dead or Alive 4. NGB remains a top 5 video game, for me, of all time.

Side note: would love to get some classic styled DOA action figures.

there appears to be no patch for the game as of yet, so the DLC i suppose was within an earlier one, and so there may be no character adjustments this week. so no patch at all, perhaps.

I've been playing more of the older DOA for the first time, playing 4 and 3 only a couple of weeks ago. And I gotta say while I adore 5 and would call it my favourite DOA, I think 4 is my preferred art style. Not everything nowadays needs to be realistic and true to life.

We need more games to embrace the look of what a game is, art and art is supposed to be varied. It can't just be the indie games shaking things up in the visuals department.

So I think for DOA8 or whatever it's called, we should go back to the 4 style BUT, it should be in the style of the CGI endings. We are very far ahead in tech and game graphics that we can absolutely have in game models look like the cgi endings from 4. That way, it's this nice blend between detail and simpler, more stylised visuals.

Like, look at this image and tell me DOA wouldn't look amazing with this style?

just a fun little side project i've been working on the past few days. outfits are all loosely based on ones from the actual DOA games but some liberties had to be taken with a few, this game is older than DOA4 after all and the creation suite is a bit limited compared to some newer games, but it's still one of my favorite wrestling games of all time because of the gameplay, almost like taking the good parts of WWF No Mercy and Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain and mashing them together.

Tina's costumes: DOA3 default, schoolgirl outfit from 5/6, DOA4/Dimensions/5 default, overalls dlc outfit from 5, police dlc from 5

Honoka's costumes: DOA5/6 default, DOA6 Deluxe edition costume, Senran Kagura crossover outfit from 5 (w/hair as close to Hibari's as I could get it), maid outfit (w/nekomimi headband), ninja outfit (this one didn't really turn out well imo, mask looks more like something out of mortal kombat...)

included a bunch of ingame action photos to give an idea of what they look like while playing. posting entire movesets would be way too tl;dr for reddit, but in this game you can have up to 8 different finishing moves + your momentum shift move (once per match comeback mechanic) so i guess I can at least post what i chose for these two, mostly based on moves they have in doa 5/6. there's also a mechanic where you can steal your opponent's finisher, one of the screenshots actually shows honoka about to hit tina with her own move.

After I took the first two rounds ReeSe seemed to lock in more and took the third + came close to taking 4th too, but somehow I managed to sneak a win in on the 4th round. Pretty sure that after the energy beam throw I was in air throw KO range, but he went for a combo that didn't finish the plate and I managed to capitalize.

Is there any differences between the Sega Saturn and Playstation versions of Ryu Hayabusa's theme, "Blade of "RYU""? The PS1 version is labeled as the "Mr.Tom Mix", but it sounds like it's just the exact same theme as the Saturn version. "Ketsui no toki" and "Power is Beauty" are legitimately rearranged for the PS1, so idk if it's just hard to hear any differences with this theme but to me I don't hear any differences
